The MUG’s Top Picks for Fathers Day Weekend:
Farmers Markets – The Clark Fork River Market continues on Saturday under COVID Phase-2 rules, and expanded offerings allowed. CFRM has successfully incorporated advance online ordering (7pm on Thursday 6/18 is the advance online order deadline). CFRM will be expanding around the Pattee Street cul-de-sac this weekend. Personal care products, preserves, hot sauces, and package food will be added to the expanding fresh vegetable selection. The Missoula Farmer’s Market (also Saturday) has similarly expanded offerings, and the South Ave. Garden Produce Market opens at the Iron Griz starting this Saturday for the summer season as well.
Hey – Trivia’s back! at Monk’s on Thursday night!
Food options a-plenty for the weekend with Downtown Pop-Ups in Caras Park on Thursday night, the new Big Dipper location opening on Friday at Paxon Plaza off Brooks, and tons of places offering up fantastic Fathers Day Brunch and Dinner menus.
We couldn’t be more stoked about Andrea Harsell‘s return to our beloved Missoula, and her first performance back on stage at The Springs up at the end of Broadway in P-Burg on Saturday night. Live music is getting a bit easier to find, with the Thursday Night Music Series at Ranch Club, Dan Dubuque playing Thursday in Whitefish, the ZACC kids rockin’ out at Caras Park on Friday night, Venus and Mars Friday night at Monk’s, EddyJ (solo) at Ten Spoon on Saturday night. You won’t have to leave the house to watch & listen to the Summer Solstice Sequesterfest streaming all day & evening on Saturday. And Edwin Johnson Live has a busy weekend with gigs Thursday at Ranch Club, Saturday at Ten Spoon Winery, and Sunday with Ginger and Da Boyz at The Springs in P-Burg.

Downtown Missoula Pop-Ups at Caras Park
Featured Food Trucks on June 18th include Baskin Robbins, Bitterroot Bison, and Kamoon Arabian Cuisine.
Caras Park is the home base for Downtown Missoula Pop-Ups as a substitute for the fully-programmed Out to Lunch and Downtown ToNight. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, a small group of vendors will be open and serving Missoula in a safe and appropriately-distanced spaces.
Downtown Pop-Ups will continue Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-8pm, and on Wednesdays from 11am-2pm for the entirety of the summer.

The Goonies
The Missoula PaddleHeads, in conjunction with The Roxy Theater have announced a partnership to host a weekly movie series at Ogren Park Allegiance Field, every Thursday. Stadium gates will open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. showing.
Tickets for the June 18th showing of The Goonies, and all future films will be available to purchase in advance starting Monday, June 15th from the PaddleHeads website, www.gopaddleheads.com, or the night of each weekly showing at the Ogren Park Allegiance Field box office.
Three ticketing options are available to patrons: $20 – on-field 10’x10’ social distanced squares for up to four people, $40 – on-field 20’x10’ social distanced squares for up to eight people, and individual tickets available in the seating bowl – $5 adults, $2 for children 12 and under.
The Goonies is an old-fashioned yarn about a band of adventurous kids who take on the might of a property developing company which plans to destroy their home to build a country club. When the children discover an old pirate map in the attic, they follow it into an underground cavern in search of lost treasure but come up against plenty of dangerous obstacles along the way.

Friday’s will play host to a weekly stadium Happy Hour, located in the Blackfoot Communications Party Pavilion. This weekly, free admission event is the perfect way for Missoula to wrap up the work week from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. During Happy Hour, all pints will be on tap for $4, a rotating $3 Ro-Tater Tot Special will be featured, alongside $10 Meal Deals, and additional chef inspired menu items.

The big news of the week is that on Saturday we will welcome our “cottage industry” vendors back to the market, including bakers, candy makers, beverage vendors, flower/plant purveyors and canned goods creators. They will join our agricultural producers (and yes, we will have tomatoes on Saturday).
Even though we are expanding our in-person markets, we will continue our online marketplace. Ordering is open Monday at noon through Thursday at 7pm. This week we have more than 310 items from close to 20 local producers. It’s easy, convenient and safe. Just pre-order, pre-pay, and pick up at the market on Saturday. If you would like to pay with cash, check or benefit program (SNAP or Prescription Produce) you can pay at pickup.
COVID-19 / Phase 2 Measures in Place:
– Capacity 175 people total (including vendors and employees) at any time
– 6′ physical distance maintained
– One-way traffic flow; Entrance on Higgins Ave.; Exit on Pattee St.
– Please wear a mask

What about the music, you ask? It’s always great fun when VERY experienced musicians create something new. That’s what’s up, folks! Marlene Malloy-Murdo (Ginger!) – Vocals and Hand Percussion; Tim Borsberry – Drums and vocals; Kevin Pederson – Keyboards and vocals, and; Ed Johnson – Guitars and vocals. Classic rock, funk, country, jazz, pop, and more! This will be our only performance in the ‘burg as the four-piece this year, so come have some fun with us at a wonderful venue!
