Halloween is here, Linus! While others may scoff, we’ll be there right next to you waiting for The Great Pumpkin to arise over the pumpkin patch. Once again, The MUG has compiled the most comprehensive list of events in Missoula and around Western Montana, all right here for you to make your own HalloWeekend PICKS.

There are tons of great opportunities to be spooky, kooky, and altogether ooky. This is the final weekends to visit Field of Screams in Victor to scare the bejeebers out of yourself. (Pro tip: go early, before it gets crowded). And – don’t miss going to MCT’s live stage musical production of The Addams Family! Halloween “proper” is Monday, but this whole weekend is jam-packed with HalloWeekend fun.

We’re counting over 85 music shows of one kind or another in the area. We’ve got options!

This is the last week remaining for the Saturday Missoula Markets; visit them while you can & stock up on all the bounty of farm to your table produce. There are a handful of fall & harvest markets to check out, too.

Thankfully, we have the invigorating climb up to Rocky Top take the chill off. Meet 6:00 pm at the main Blue Mountain Trailhead.

It’s back! After an extended wait, Missoula’s favorite theater production — The Rocky Horror Show Live! — returns to The Wilma for its ninth outrageous year in 2022. Once again, The Wilma and The Montana Actors’ Theatre are excited to present four wild performances of The Rocky Horror Show Live! with two showings on Friday, October 28th & two showings on Saturday, October 29th. Each day an early performance will take place at 8:00 pm and a late performance will take place at 11:55pm.

Directed by Reid Reimers, this year’s production is harkening back to 60’s Mod culture, with a ‘Rocky’ twist of course. Many of your favorite cast members are returning, including Reid Reimers as Dr. Frank N’ Furter, and Jeff Medley as Riff Raff. There is plenty of fresh blood too, as open auditions brought in some amazing new talent from the community. And we are very excited to have renowned choreographer Jack Failla joining the team. He’s worked with Diana Ross, Paula Abdul, Siegfried and Roy and even Dolly Parton, just to name a few!

There will be food trucks (the FFA Taco Truck and the Pattie Wagon), cotton candy, fun activities for your family, and a dance DJ’d by the amazing Coach Shane!

Costumes are encouraged, but please remember to follow these guidelines as this is a family event and small children will be in attendance: No prop or real weapons (guns, knives, swords, chainsaws, etc). No gory costumes or fake blood.
This event will take place in the rain, snow or (hopefully) sunshine!

It’s back! After an extended wait, Missoula’s favorite theater production — The Rocky Horror Show Live! — will return The Wilma for its ninth outrageous year in 2022. Once again, The Wilma and The Montana Actors’ Theatre are excited to present four wild performances of The Rocky Horror Show Live! with two showings on Friday, October 28th & two showings on Saturday, October 29th. Each day an early showing will take place at 8:00 pm and a late showing will take place at 11:55 pm.

Directed by Reid Reimers, this year’s production is harkening back to 60’s Mod culture, with a ‘Rocky’ twist of course. Many of your favorite cast members are returning, including Reid Reimers as Dr. Frank N’ Furter, and Jeff Medley as Riff Raff. There is plenty of fresh blood too, as open auditions brought in some amazing new talent from the community. And we are very excited to have renowned choreographer Jack Failla joining the team. He’s worked with Diana Ross, Paula Abdul, Siegfried and Roy and even Dolly Parton, just to name a few!

With the help of funding from the Montana Arts Council, local musician Aaron Jennings is starting a record manufacturing service in Missoula with the goal of making short-run handmade vinyl releases accessible and affordable to artists across the state. Attendees will be able to pick out their favorite performances and purchase a custom record to take home with them. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the ZACC. A comic strip by Charles Addams in the late 1930’s about a quirky family with ghoulish humor took on a life of its own in a 1960’s TV series.  It eventually made its way to the Broadway stage as a musical comedy which received numerous Tony nominations and other accolades. Gomez and Morticia Addams’ family is the spookiest, kookiest family on the block. Uncle Fester is in love…with the moon.  Daughter Wednesday torments her brother Pugsley (literally).  When Wednesday falls in love with a bright and pleasant boy from a bright and pleasant family, she invites them to dinner to meet her most… unusual family, prompting Pugsley to plot his revenge.  The plan goes awry, nearly tearing the two families apart (figuratively).  The result is utter chaos and confusion during a thunderstorm, when hidden family secrets come to light—in the darkness (literally).
