DESCRIPTION:Missoula’s annual Science Fiction & Fantasy Convention (MisCon 40: The Upside Down) moves to the Missoula Fairgrounds with all sorts of events and activities for fantasy\, science fiction\, horror\, gaming\, cosplay and anime 4:00 pm to Midnight Thursday\, June 25; 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Friday\, June 26 and Saturday\, June 27; and 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Sunday\, June 29\n\n\n\n\n\nMisCon is a 4-day celebration of fantasy\, science fiction\, horror\, gaming\, cosplay\, and anime that will take over the Missoula County Fairgrounds\, June 25 – 28. We bring fans together with authors\, editors\, artists\, game designers\, actors\, musicians\, scientists\, costumers\, and other professionals in the world of speculative fiction. Put on a costume and take part in discussion panels\, craft demos\, kids activities\, workshops\, and attend author readings. Hang out with artists\, cosplayers and steampunks. Buy art in our Art Gallery\, watch our Film Festival submissions\, and enter our Costume Contest. Play Role Playing Games\, board games\, video games\, Magic the Gathering\, and see what our Merchants are selling. For more details\, see the merchant policies. \n\n\n\nEveryone is welcome to come check out the fairgrounds on Wednesday\, and if you want to pitch in and help with setup\, we’d love the help. \n\n\n\nThursday\, June 25: \n\n\n\nRegistration opens Thursday at 4:00 pm at our Registration Booth in the Commercial Building. You can register online before this\, or pay at the door. \n\n\n\nWe will have some panels starting at 4:00 pm\, Merchants will be open for business\, Gaming will be set up and running in various locations across the grounds\, the Cantina and other hangout areas will be open and ready for people\, the Art Gallery will be lit and set\, etc. \n\n\n\nEvening programming takes over at 8:00 pm\, including parties (alcoholic and not)\, shows\, music events\, night gaming (gaming never stops throughout the convention)\, and more. \n\n\n\nFriday\, June 26: \n\n\n\nWe will have some panels starting at 10:00 am\, but Opening Ceremonies will take place at Noon. Our Guests of Honor and many panelists attend the Opening Ceremonies\, so it’s usually a good way to see and meet people. \n\n\n\nOn Saturday everything opens at 10:00 am: panels\, gaming\, the Art Gallery\, merchants\, etc. \n\n\n\nSunday\, June 28 will open at 10:00 am and will conclude with Closing Ceremonies\, which starts at 6:00 pm. DESCRIPTION:Acclaimed acoustic guitarist Clive Carroll performs live at Missoula’s Longstaff House 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm Sunday\, June 28\n\n\n\n\n\nClive Carroll’s unique tone\, versatility\, and unmistakeable voice as a composer\, have seen him become one of the world’s premier acoustic guitar players and “…arguably the most accomplished fingerstylist in the world today…” (Total Guitar Magazine). \n\n\n\nClive made his musical debut at age two as a banjo-strumming cowboy singing nursery rhymes.  \n\n\n\nHis parents had a passion for Irish\, American country\, and old-time music\, and it wasn’t long before he was playing in the family band on a homemade banjo.  \n\n\n\nBy his early teens\, guitar in hand\, Clive was traversing the worlds of soul\, pop\, funk and traditional Irish music\, balancing his affinity for Slayer with the etudes of Tárrega.  \n\n\n\nThis breadth of musical curiosity was to become one of his strengths; even as a child Clive was as comfortable accompanying a group of folk singers as he was jamming along to Nirvana or performing on banjo and guitar in the orchestral pits for musicals. \n\n\n\nClive went on to earn a 1st Class Honours Degree in Composition and Guitar from the famed Trinity College of Music in London\, all the while balancing his classical work with forays into the world of the steel-string guitar.  \n\n\n\nBy the time he graduated from Trinity\, Clive had not only penned orchestral works\, he had a written an album’s worth of solo acoustic guitar music.  \n\n\n\nA chance meeting with English guitar legend John Renbourn proved the catalyst for Clive’s debut album\, “Sixth Sense\,” which Renbourn deemed “a milestone in the journey of the steel-string guitar.” \n\n\n\nHe subsequently took Clive on the road with him and the pair toured North America and Europe together\, launching Clive’s solo performing career. \n\n\n\nTours across Europe\, North America\, Australia\, the Middle East\, and China\, have seen Clive garner praise for his breathtaking\, genre-bending live performances.  \n\n\n\nLauded guitarist Tommy Emmanuel has brought Clive on tour across three continents\, and he also appears on Emmanuel’s album “Accomplice One\,” flanked on the track listing by the likes of Rodney Crowell and Mark Knopfler. \n\n\n\nClive has also toured and collaborated with guitar greats such as John Williams\, D’Gary\, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt\, Xuefei Yang\, and Ralph Towner. \n\n\n\nIn addition to Clive’s four solo albums—“Sixth Sense\,” “The Red Guitar” (which Tommy Emmanuel cites as one of his desert island discs)\, “Life in Colour\,” and “The Furthest Tree”—he has written music for television and film.  \n\n\n\nHe notably collaborated with John Renbourn to score the film “Driving Lessons\,” which features Julie Walters and Rupert Grint of Harry Potter fame. \n\n\n\n2023 saw the release of monumental project\, “The Abbot – Clive Carroll plays the music of John Renbourn\,” a double-album of solo works alongside ensemble interpretations\, featuring 21 guest musicians and a medieval ensemble.  \n\n\n\n“The Abbot” was described by Now Spinning Magazine as “…a gateway to a world of intricate\, melodic\, and beautiful music. It’s akin to having someone paint vibrant tapestries in your living room—a rich\, immersive experience.”

All ages are welcome. \n\n\n\nAvailable Ticket Types: \n\n\n\nGeneral Admission Lawn: General Admission Lawn tickets allow access to the upper lawn section of the amphitheater located above the reserved stadium seating section. \n\n\n\nReserved Stadium Seating: Reserved Stadium Seating tickets allow access to the seating section located behind the main pit of the amphitheater. \n\n\n\nReserved Premium Stadium Seating: Reserved Premium Stadium Seating tickets allow access to the rows closest to the stage of the seated section located just behind the main pit of the amphitheater. \n\n\n\nGeneral Admission Pit (Standing): General Admission Pit tickets allow access to the standing room only section located directly in front of the stage. \n\n\n\nPremium Box Seating: Experience the best seats in the house with reserved box seating in a prime location\, offering unmatched audio quality\, crowd-free viewing\, and convenient counter space for food/drinks.
