Today\, the event brings thousands of tourists and Granite County natives back to Philipsburg each July. Please follow the  directions / instructions below. We are located on a one lane dirt road with a maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour. This means that the drive from the highway to the venue is 1 hour long. Please plan accordingly. Because of this\, attendees are expected to stay for the duration of the festival and there will be no re-entry. CARPOOLING IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED \n\n\n\nAbout 5 miles south of Darby\, MT:  \n\n\n\n\nTake Rye Creek RD for 7.7 Miles (Rye Creek RD turns into FS 75)\n\n\n\n\n\nTurn Left on FS 715\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter 3.9 miles\, take the right fork in the road\n\n\n\n\n\nDrive about 10 more miles and take a right at the yellow gate\n\n\n\n\n\nThe venue will be in about 1.5 miles\n\n\n\n\nPlease drive SLOW and ONLY during gate hours. The maximum speed you should be driving on FS 715 at ANY POINT is 20 mph. DESCRIPTION:Grammy Award-winner Marty Stuart comes to Wachholz College Center on the FVCC campus in Kalispell with His Fabulous Superlatives at 7:30 pm Sunday\, July 26\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors @ 6:30 pm \n\n\n\nThe Wachholz College Center is pleased to welcome Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives back to the Flathead Valley. \n\n\n\nA Country Music Hall of Famer\, five-time Grammy Award-winner\, and AMA Lifetime Achievement honoree\, Stuart knows a thing or two about standing the test of time.  \n\n\n\nBorn and raised in Mississippi\, he landed his first big gig in Lester Flatts’ band at the tender age of thirteen\, and by twenty-one\, he was working on the road and in the studio with Johnny Cash.  \n\n\n\nThough Stuart built his early reputation backing up country and bluegrass royalty\, it wasn’t long before Nashville recognized him as a star in his own right\, and over the course of forty-plus years as a solo artist\, he would go on to release more than twenty major label albums\, scoring platinum sales\, hit singles\, and just about every honor the industry could bestow along the way. \n\n\n\nIn a career spanning over 50 years\, dozens of albums\, and too many shows to count\, Marty Stuart is still restless and pushing himself to new heights.  \n\n\n\nHe and The Superlatives’ most recent album release “Space Junk” showcases the inimitable interplay and bond between Marty and his longtime bandmates\, Kenny Vaughan\, Harry Stinson\, and Chris Scruggs.  \n\n\n\nThe album’s origins can be traced to Marty’s years composing music for film and television\, including the score for All The Pretty Horses\, which garnered a Golden Globe® Award nomination for “Best Original Score” and earned him GRAMMY® Awards in the category of “Best Country Instrumental Performance” for “Foggy Mountain Breakdown” and “Hummingbyrd.” \n\n\n\n“Scoring required a cinematic way of thinking.” reveals Marty. “I had to make music for what the scene called for\, which turned me into more of a visual player in an understated way. That kind of thinking followed me into the studio during the making of Space Junk. I knew the music had to be pretty\, but it also had to say something without losing its drive.”  \n\n\n\n“I hope Space Junk takes the listeners for a ride\,” he continues. “It makes me forget my problems and remember why I play guitar and get to dress up in cowboy clothes. It reminds me I’m okay\, and I want it to do the same for you. Mainly\, I want to inspire some kid to go to the store\, buy an instrument\, and make a difference. This concept was passed down to us from the old heroes. If we can serve the same role\, then mission accomplished.”
