DESCRIPTION:Western Union delivers an evening of Montana’s favorite “countrypolitan” Texas Western Swing and Honky Tonk music at Zootown Arts Community Center in Downtown Missoula at 6:30 pm Sunday\, May 17\n\n\n\n\n\nLouie and Kimberlee are founding members of Montana’s hottest Texas swing band Western Union\, with bandmates David Horgan and Beth Lo from one of Montana’s most renowned jazz and R&B bands-the Big Sky Mudflaps. They have the distinction of being the only Montana band to play at the Montana Folk Festival (July 2016) in addition to opening for Marty Stewart (Sept 2015) and Colorado’s renowned Hot Rize (July 2015). Where jazz meets country\, Western Union is Montana’s favorite “countrypolitan” western swing band\, specializing in classic Texas Swing & Honky Tonk music. With electric and acoustic guitars\, standup bass\, pedal steel guitar\, and drums – plus sharp-as-a-tack lead vocals and vocal harmonies — Western Union delivers the true-blue sound of grassroots America. \n\n\n\nAll tickets are General Admission. SUMMARY:Dance Underground at UM Open Space Theatre / PARTV Center
DESCRIPTION:UM School of Theatre and Dance presents “Dance Underground\,” an experience of choreographic creativity as a vehicle on diverse themes\, with unique performances at 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm April 23-25; April 30-May 2 at UM Open Space Theatre / PARTV Center\n\n\n\n\n\n“Dance Underground” is a uniquely intimate production that provides a platform for choreographers to experiment with the creative process. Student and faculty choreographers use movement as a vehicle to research diverse themes. \n\n\n\nThis production\, two weekends with multiple lineups of different new works\, promises to be distinctive and exciting.  \n\n\n\nPlan to come to more than one performance for a sampling of novel dance perspectives! \n\n\n\nProgram I\, April 23-25\, performs three times and will feature works created by students who have completed the UM Dance Program’s foundational choreography coursework. \n\n\n\nThe programs seen April 30-May 2 will each be unique evenings of dance including works from brand-new chorographers and works presented as technique-course showings.  \n\n\n\nThis production is presented as part of the curriculum of the School of Theatre and Dance. \n\n\n\nThe University of Montana is committed to creating inclusive\, accessible events. \n\n\n\nIf you would like to request reasonable accommodations for this event\, please email heidi.eggert@umontana.edu. \n\n\n\nProgram I: April 23-25\, 7:30 p.m. | Program II: April 30\, 7:30 p.m. | Program III: May 1\, 7:30 p.m. | Program IV: May 2\, 7:30 p.m. | Open Space Theatre\, PARTV Center
