Whatever your interests\, MisCon has something to fascinate\, educate and entertain you.Detailed weekend overview:Thursday is our setup day. \n\n\n\nCampers can check in that morning\, although we will be setting up the campground and don’t have a definite time you can get set up at your site. \n\n\n\nMerchants will be able to set up indoor booths that morning no later than 11:00 am. \n\n\n\nEveryone is welcome to come check out the fairgrounds on Thursday\, and if you want to pitch in and help with setup\, we’d love the help. \n\n\n\nPre-Registered attendees can pick up badges Thursday evening at our Registration Booth in the Commercial Building. We’re not yet sure when this will be for MisCon 39\, but it’s always for a few hours in the evening. Once we know\, we will update this. \n\n\n\nFriday: \n\n\n\nRegistration officially opens at noon on Friday\, although we almost always open before that. Before Reg opens\, attendees are welcome to wander around the fairgrounds/buildings\, to check things out\, and to see people. \n\n\n\nPanels (and everything else\, really) officially start at 2:00 pm. Merchants will be open for business\, Gaming will be set up and running in various locations across the grounds\, the Cantina and other hangout areas will be open and ready for people\, the Art Gallery will be lit and set\, etc. \n\n\n\nDaytime programming\, indoor merchants\, and the Art Gallery all close at 7:00 pm\, just as Opening Ceremonies begin. Our GoHs and many panelists attend the OC\, so it’s usually a good way to see/meet people. \n\n\n\nEvening programming takes over at 8:00 pm\, including parties (alcoholic and not)\, shows\, music events\, night gaming (gaming never stops throughout the convention)\, and more. \n\n\n\nOn Saturday everything opens at 10:00 am: panels\, gaming\, the Art Gallery\, merchants. \n\n\n\nSunday has the same 10:00 am to 2:00 am schedule as Saturday with the same kinds of things happening throughout the day. The Art Auction happens Sunday evening\, as does Nerd Prom. \n\n\n\nMonday starts at 10:00 am. It’s our quietest day\, since everyone is tired after three days of fun\, but we’ve got all the usual stuff going on until Closing Ceremonies\, which start at 3:00 pm. Most of the GoHs are still with us for Closing.

DESCRIPTION:The sights\, sounds and smells of a 19th century Montana mining town come back to life during family-friendly Garnet Ghost Down Day on Sunday\, June 14 from 10:30 am – 3:00 pm\n\n\n\n\n\nGarnet Day celebrates mining heritage of Montana’s most intact ghost town \n\n\n\nThe sights\, sounds and smells of a 19th- century town will come back to life during this year’s family-friendly Garnet Day on Sunday\, June 14 from 10:30 am – 3:00 pm. The day is filled with educational and fun events for the entire family. Some of the activities include learning about Garnet Ghost Town’s history\, panning for gold (fee charged)\, bidding on a dessert at the pie auction\, playing old-fashioned games\, enjoying free sarsaparilla and huckleberry ice cream\, visiting with the Sheriff\, listening to live music\, and getting creative at the pioneer craft table. Lunch will be available for purchase on site. Some activities\, such as the pie auction and gold nugget raffle\, require cash. \n\n\n\nThis event is hosted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Garnet Preservation Association (GPA). The day’s events are designed to give families a fun\, wild-west experience in one of Montana’s most intact ghost towns\, located 35 miles east of Missoula. Parking is very limited\, carpooling is recommended. \n\n\n\nBring your GPA membership card or become a GPA member on Garnet Day for free\, year-long admission to Garnet Ghost Town. All GPA members will receive a $5 off coupon for a hamburger meal. \n\n\n\nTo reach Garnet from Highway 200\, turn south on the Garnet Range Road between mile markers 22 and 23 and travel about 11 miles to Garnet Ghost Town. Visitors using I-90 should take the Bearmouth or Drummond exit\, then take the Frontage Road to Bear Gulch. Garnet is 10 miles north on Bear Gulch Road. Our GoHs and many panelists attend the OC\, so it’s usually a good way to see/meet people. \n\n\n\nEvening programming takes over at 8:00 pm\, including parties (alcoholic and not)\, shows\, music events\, night gaming (gaming never stops throughout the convention)\, and more. \n\n\n\nOn Saturday everything opens at 10:00 am: panels\, gaming\, the Art Gallery\, merchants. \n\n\n\nSunday has the same 10:00 am to 2:00 am schedule as Saturday with the same kinds of things happening throughout the day. The Art Auction happens Sunday evening\, as does Nerd Prom. \n\n\n\nMonday starts at 10:00 am. It’s our quietest day\, since everyone is tired after three days of fun\, but we’ve got all the usual stuff going on until Closing Ceremonies\, which start at 3:00 pm. Most of the GoHs are still with us for Closing.
