DESCRIPTION:The Confluence Center’s art program Torrents is thrilled to present a special group exhibition “Raiz y Rama” (Root and Branch)\, guest curated by local Latina artist Krissy Ramirez\, and meant to coincide with Día de los Muertos in Downtown Missoula 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm First Friday\, November 7\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Confluence Center (Western Montana’s Home for Nonprofit Events) art program Torrents is thrilled to present a magical evening of art and community! This month we proudly present the special group exhibition Raiz y Rama” (Root and Branch)\, guest curated by local Latina artist Krissy Ramirez\, and meant to coincide with Día de los Muertos. \n\n\n\n“Raiz y Rama” will highlight universal themes of life and death\, and how traditions of Día de los Muertos have transcended through geographical boundaries. From ruminations on the strength of the human spirit where hope\, healing\, and the freedom that follows can shatter boundaries\, to the ceramic recreation of favorite cultural dishes that bring loved ones together\, to communications with the spirit realm\, this exhibit will display a variety of viewpoints on the beloved cultural holiday as well as what makes us all human despite differences. \n\n\n\nThe exhibit will feature seventeen local and national Latine artists in a variety of media. We’re proud to feature select works by: \n\n\n\nRachel Calderón-Navarro\, Patricia Countryman\, April Dearduff\, Andrea Garcia\, Monica Gilles-BringsYellow\, Nicole Hamm\, Hannah Kautto\, Diana Ingalls Leyba\, José Galván Martinez\, Marissa Nestor\, Vesna Vera O’Connor\, Lauren Orozco\, Ismara Partidas\, Dina Perlasca\, Krissy Ramirez\, Fiorella Michelis-Rosas\, and Fernando Serrano. \n\n\n\nGet a sneak peak at the exhibit during our 3rd Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration on Sunday\, November 2  from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Then\, join us for the exhibit opening on First Friday\, November 7 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm\, which will include live music by Canta Brasil\, plus free traditional Latin snacks and drinks. DESCRIPTION:Maggie and Mark O’Connor bring their fiddle and strings master duet to the Hamilton Performing Arts Center with “An Appalachian Christmas” 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm Saturday\, November 15\n\n\n\n\n\nMark O’Connor began his creative journey at the feet of American fiddling legend Benny Thomasson\, and the iconic French jazz violinist Stéphane Grappelli. Today\, he has melded these influences into a new American classical music and is perpetuating his vision of an American School of String Playing. Mr. O’Connor has won three Grammys\, seven CMA awards and several national fiddle\, guitar and mandolin champion titles. Mr. O’Connor has composed nine concertos and two symphonies recorded by the Baltimore Symphony\, London Philharmonic\, Colorado Symphony among others. O’Connor is well-known for his chamber music including his million-selling composition “Appalachia Waltz” featuring Yo-Yo Ma for the Sony Classical label. His recent album back on his own label OMAC Records is Life After Life\, an Americana music collection of his original songs and some classics he sings with his wife Maggie O’Connor who is featured on lead vocals. 2025 sees the release of their new holiday music album\, A Christmas Duet – captured live at Sheldon Hall in St. Louis from Mark’s perennial An Appalachian Christmas tour. O’Connor released his memoir a few years ago\, Crossing Bridges: My Journey from Child Prodigy to Fiddler Who Dared the World.  \n\n\n\nMr. O’Connor has authored a series of educational books called the O’Connor Method and is now the fastest growing violin method in the country. The O’Connor Method features American music styles\, creativity\, cultural diversity and western classical technical training. DESCRIPTION:Missoula Sentinel High School’s annual Craft Fair and Show is 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Saturday\, November 29\n\n\n\n\n\nOriginal\, homemade\, upcycled\, antique\, repurposed arts\, crafts and one-of-a-kind items from 102 local vendors and merchants.MCPS Native American Student Services will be selling fry bread on Saturday.The Blackfoot Picnic Basket food truck will be selling breakfast and lunch outside the Bancroft entrance at the show!Sentinel High School Art Club will be offering arts and crafts activities for your children while you browse the craft fair. Children will be contained and engaged in art activities in room 186 at Sentinel and supervised by high school students. Children must be four and older\, and a parent or guardian must stay present at the fair while your children are participating in the crafts. It will run from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. There is no charge for this service. Donations accepted. They will also have a booth selling student art work. Thank you Sentinel Art Club!Our raffle is a collection of items donated by our vendors at the show. The money we make on the raffle will go to support our Special Olympic athletes. Thank you to all the vendors who agreed to donate!

There is sure to be something to please everyone that visits. Indoor and outdoor vendors offer a vast variety of items from baked goods to stained glass\, to paintings to honey products\, to lotions to candy\, crocheted items and 3D printed creations\, and everything in between. Mark the date in your calendar for this must-attend event. We will collect dry pantry goods for 2 benefits this year: Alberton Food Bank and a Meal Prep Program for families in need led by Stacey Clark from Outdoorsman Church!
