Mixing uncharted musical detours with their distinctive aggressive identity\, the band create a conceptual world unlike anything in their incredible catalog\, inviting the listener to experience the journey on their own terms. Though the story takes place in a hotel—The Blue Nowhere—don’t expect haunted corridors or shadowy figures behind every door. \n\n\n\n“It’s more of a feeling—those moments when you feel alone in the world and use that solitude to reflect on the human experience\,” Rogers clarifies. “It exists in a space where no one can find you\, hidden from all forms of reality—that’s The Blue Nowhere.” Trying something new is not unusual for the group\, who once again find ways to expand their musical palette while maintaining the band’s core sound. No more surprising is the album opener\, “Things We Tell Ourselves in the Dark\,” which sets the tone with INXS and Duran Duran-inspired textures\, even incorporating 90125-era Yes\, filtered through BTBAM’s signature chaos. Meanwhile\, “Absent Thereafter” is a quintessential BTBAM track—layered\, intense\, and unrelentingly dynamic\, this 10+ minute opus delivers everything a BTBAM fan could want and more. Between the Buried and Me remain allergic to stagnation\, and The Blue Nowhere proves their creative drive is stronger than ever. “It feels like a natural evolution for the band\,” says Rogers. “We’re not repeating ourselves. We’re lucky to have a fanbase that’s along for the ride. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Hail the SunWhen Hail The Sun entered the studio to record what would become their highly-anticipated fifth full-length album\, New Age Filth\, they knew they were setting out to release their most ambitious material to date. The band\, consisting of Donovan Melero (vocals/drums)\, Aric Garcia (guitar)\, John Stirrat (bass) and Shane Gann (guitar)\, spent five weeks with producer Kris Crummett which resulted in their most collaborative and diverse album yet. \n\n\n\n“Domino”\, the energetic first single off of the record\, showcases the band’s technical prowess with instruments dancing over one another as vocalist Donovan Melero belts out his signature high-pitched vocals. Lyrically\, the track centers around reflection of self and how past actions can affect others. On writing “Domino”\, Melero stated\, “Reflecting is important. What we might discover in reflection can be a hard pill to swallow. I’m only as big as my weakest character flaw. I’m told that I talk a lot in my sleep\, and these are the things I think I say.” \n\n\n\nHail the Sun’s New Age Filth includes tracks that are heavier and poppier at the same time\, proving their ability to be extremely technical in instrumentation while also unleashing some of the catchiest hooks they’ve ever created. The influence from genre-melding predecessors like Coheed and Cambria\, At The Drive-In\, and even Yes is apparent\, but the sound is still very much a natural evolution from Hail The Sun’s past work. \n\n\n\nThe shifting musical compositions on New Age Filth perfectly accompany the emotive lyrical outpour found across the album. Continuing along the theme of reflection\, Melero weaves through painful and emotional experiences of love\, cynicism\, and touches on how awful humans can be to one another. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Delta SleepWhat started as an earnest foray into pushing the boundaries of fledging math-rock\, over the course of thirteen years has morphed into something much more for Canterbury (via Brighton) quartet Delta Sleep. Continuously surprising their listeners with every release by constantly tweaking and perfecting their sound\, so far the bands expansive repertoire defies to be constrained by any strict sub-genre or category: molding their sound into something that goes beyond the labels of just math-rock.

DESCRIPTION:Support North Valley Music School at the fundraising Stumptown Get Down 2026 Electronic Music Festival featuring Balkan Bump\, DJ Trayze\, Dan Dubuque\, and DJ JC performing live 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm Saturday\, June 6\n\n\n\n\n\nBALKAN BUMP  \n\n\n\nBalkan Bump is the global electronic music project orchestrated by trumpet player\, producer and ethnomusicologist Will Magid.  \n\n\n\nBalkan Bump’s music fuses heavy electronic production with global music influences including traditional Balkan brass melodies\, Middle Eastern sounds and American hip hop.  \n\n\n\nThe Balkan Bump live show highlights Magid’s expertise as an orchestrator\, ranging in size from a solo performer to a 12-piece band featuring a menagerie of global instruments including sitar\, saz\, oud\, clarinet and trumpet.  \n\n\n\nThe live performance’s popularity has brought the project to global renown with performances at the world’s biggest music stages including Coachella\, Bonnaroo and Lightning In A Bottle\, as well as beloved jazz\, blues and world music festivals including Harvest Music Festival and CA WorldFest\, and numerous appearances at Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre.  \n\n\n\nBalkan Bump debuted with the single “Aymo” alongside famed Slovenian producer Gramatik and American hip hop royalty Talib Kweli.  \n\n\n\nGramatik quickly championed the new project\, unveiling Balkan Bump’s live show on his Re:Coil Tour and releasing Balkan Bump’s debut EP on his Lowtemp label imprint.  \n\n\n\nSince then the Balkan Bump project has gone on to collaborate with global and live music projects Beats Antique and Moon Hooch; international electronic music superstars CloZee\, Fakear\, & Manic Focus; and American hip hop icon The Gift Of Gab (Blackalicious).  \n\n\n\nBalkan Bump has been featured in Billboard Magazine\, NPR’s The World\, The San Francisco Chronicle and Magnetic Magazine.  \n\n\n\nIn 2020 Magid curated a series of global music mixes for Los Angeles-based Dublab Radio under the Balkan Bump alias.  \n\n\n\nAs a solo artist\, Will Magid has collaborated and performed with artists including Bonobo\, Erykah Badu\, Pretty Lights\, and soul music legend Solomon Burke.  \n\n\n\nHe has led numerous jazz and global music outfits including his eponymous soul-funk band’s seminal Alligator Spacewalk album in 2016\, and the 2017 neoclassical exploration Lunar Conquest Suite.  \n\n\n\nHis music has been featured in campaigns for global brands including Warner Brothers\, Uber\, Porsche\, HP\, Vogue\, GoPro and Ubisoft.  \n\n\n\nMagid graduated from The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music with a degree in Ethnomusicology. \n\n\n\nDJ TRAYZE  \n\n\n\nTrayze is a musical powerhouse\, both on stage and in the studio\, renowned for his high-energy DJ sets and unmatched turntable skills.  \n\n\n\nPerforming at nightclubs and festivals across the globe\, he has earned acclaim for his hit remixes and edits\, which are supported by some of the world’s top DJs.  \n\n\n\nHailing from Washington\, D.C.\, Trayze is a master at blending hip-hop\, house\, funk\, and party anthems\, igniting dancefloors at premier clubs and events worldwide.  \n\n\n\nNotably\, he has won the prestigious Red Bull 3Style DJ Competition in the U.S.—twice!
