DESCRIPTION:Jazz Off the Rails at Leaf + Quiet on Missoula’s Northside kicks off at 7:00 pm on First Friday\, July 3\n\n\n\n\n\nJazz Off the Rails series is a weekly music lab where University of Montana Jazz students of all ages join together to play in our cozy and supportive environment\, giving these students a taste of what it is like to perform in front of a live audience in an intimate jazz listening room environment.  \n\n\n\nSince we established this project in July 2024\, we have watched incredible growth both in confidence and musicality in these students.   \n\n\n\nAll of them have accomplished so much showing up every Friday to perform.   \n\n\n\nWe have had high-school students join as well as teachers and professors\, giving the audience a rare and wonderful treat while supporting the growth of our University music students.

Elephant Gerald’s Jazz Jam is built around a rotating house band\, with each Wednesday featuring a different theme – from western swing and country jazz with the High Noon Swing Band\, to swing standards with The JIVE\, an anything-goes jazz and blues jam with the Elephant Gerald house band and rotating guests\, and a gypsy jazz night with the Skalsky Brothers. When there’s a fifth Wednesday\, the stage turns over to a vocal spotlight night for singers. Sit in or just sit back – the house band keeps the music flowing all night.
