Casey Burton reflects on the cycles of decay and transformation in her surreal and captivating ceramic vessels\, mourning the passing of time while capturing an elusive moment and concretizing it as a memoriam to memory. Painters Erynn McNeill and Leela Francis both seek to capture the connections of ourselves to the natural world. McNeill’s compositions straddle the worlds of realism and fantasy creating a dreamlike state for the viewer to be sucked into\, while Francis uses color and abstracted trees in an attempt to bring the sense of peace one feels when immersed in the woods. And finally\, the photography of Kassidy Malcolm and paintings of Madeleine Tucker take the viewer as a passenger on their extraordinary adventures into the great outdoors. \n\n\n\nReception will be held on First Friday\, August 7 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Confluence Center in Downtown Missoula.  \n\n\n\nThe Confluence Center is excited to premier our newly renovated space out back with live music by Mudslide Charley! \n\n\n\nEarth’s Bones will remain on display through August 28\, and can be seen by appointment through the Confluence Center: 406-926-6526

Recorded live to tape at Ear Studio in Austin\, TX the record features select singles from their latest LP Like It’s The Last One Left plus three covers: “Bertha” by the Grateful Dead; “Shadow People\,” a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers staple and “Just To Satisfy You” made popular by Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson. \n\n\n\nUncle Lucius has long been known for their unique blend of roots rock & roll and country soul. Since adding heavyweights Doug Strahan (guitar) and Drew Scherger (bass) to the fold\, the band has expanded its palette\, exploring new musical landscapes and reveling in the power that comes from following sonic avenues\, without prejudice\, wherever they lead. The results onstage speak for themselves. \n\n\n\nDuring the years following the band’s farewell tour in 2018\, their audience continued to organically grow\, highlighted by the placement of their song “Keep the Wolves Away” in an episode of Yellowstone and its subsequent RIAA gold and platinum certifications. After a few years on hiatus — with a fresh outlook and a deep well of new ideas — the band members began to shake off their collective rust and blueprint songs that mirrored their career and current status\, hitting on themes of resolve and resilience. Since their comeback the band has toured consistently around the world and recently the 2nd single from Like It’s The Last One Left\, “All The Angelenos\,” hit #5 on the Texas Radio Charts. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Keyland \n\n\n\nOn Knuckle Sandwich\, recorded at the remote\, analog-leaning Sonic Ranch near the Texas–Mexico border\, Tulsa-based songwriter Keyland delivers his sharpest and most fully realized work to date. The album captures the messy\, contradictory nature of love with equal parts humor and hard truth. Rooted in the storytelling tradition of Oklahoma and the broader Americana lineage it feeds\, the record moves between swagger and self-awareness\, landing somewhere between a smirk and a gut punch. \n\n\n\nAs Keyland (born Kyle Ross) puts it\, “Oftentimes\, love looks more like a punch to the face than a kiss on the cheek.” \n\n\n\nThat philosophy runs through the core of the album. Elephant Gerald’s Jazz Jam is built around a rotating house band\, with each Wednesday featuring a different theme – from western swing and country jazz with the High Noon Swing Band\, to swing standards with The JIVE\, an anything-goes jazz and blues jam with the Elephant Gerald house band and rotating guests\, and a gypsy jazz night with the Skalsky Brothers. When there’s a fifth Wednesday\, the stage turns over to a vocal spotlight night for singers. Sit in or just sit back – the house band keeps the music flowing all night.
