Pricing on the floor varies based on location. All ages are welcome. \n\n\n\nTake a look at these tips to best prepare yourself for a smooth ticket buying experience. \n\n\n\nAdditional ticketing and venue information can be found here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Hot TunaThe name Hot Tuna invokes as many different moods and reactions as there are Hot Tuna fans — millions of them. To some\, Hot Tuna is a reminder of some wild and happy times. To others\, that name will forever be linked to their own discovery of the power and depth of American blues and roots music. To newer fans\, Hot Tuna is a tight\, masterful duo that is on the cutting edge of great music. \n\n\n\nAll of those things are correct\, and more. For more than four decades\, Hot Tuna has played\, toured\, and recorded some of the best and most memorable acoustic and electric music ever. And Hot Tuna is still going strong — some would say stronger than ever. \n\n\n\nThe two kids from 1950s Washington\, D.C. knew that they wanted to make music. Jorma Kaukonen\, son of a State Department official\, and Jack Casady\, whose father was a dentist\, discovered guitar when they were teenagers (Jack\, four years younger\, barely so). They played\, and they took in the vast panorama of music available in the nation’s capital\, but found a special love of the blues\, country\, and jazz played in small clubs. \n\n\n\nJorma went off to college\, while Jack sat in with professional bands and combos before he was even old enough to drive\, first playing lead guitar\, then electric bass. \n\n\n\nIn the mid-1960s\, Jorma was invited to play in a rock‘n’roll band that was forming in San Francisco; he knew just the guy to play bass and summoned his old friend from back east. The striking signature guitar and bass riffs in the now-legendary songs by the Jefferson Airplane were the result. \n\n\n\nThe half-decade foray into 1960s San Francisco rock music was for Jack and Jorma an additional destination\, not the final one. They continued to play their acoustic blues on the side\, sometimes performing a mini-concert amid a Jefferson Airplane performance\, sometimes finding a gig afterward in some local club. They were\, as Jack says\, “Scouting\, always scouting\, for places where we could play.” \n\n\n\nThe duo did not go unnoticed\, and soon there was a record contract and not long afterward a tour. Thus began a career that would result in more than two-dozen albums\, thousands of concerts around the world\, and continued popularity. \n\n\n\nHot Tuna has gone through changes\, certainly. A variety of other instruments\, from harmonica to fiddle to keyboards\, have been part of the band over the years\, and continue to be\, varying from project to project. The constant\, the very definition of Hot Tuna\, has always been Jorma and Jack. \n\n\n\nThe two are not joined at the hip\, though; through the years\, both Jorma and Jack have undertaken projects with other musicians and solo projects of their own. But Hot Tuna has never broken up\, never ceased to exist\, nor have the two boyhood pals ever wavered in one of the most enduring friendships in music. \n\n\n\nAlong the way\, they have been joined by a succession of talented musicians: Drummers\, harmonica players\, keyboardists\, backup singers\, violinists and more\, all fitting with Jorma and Jack’s current place in the musical spectrum. Jorma and Jack certainly could not have imagined\, let alone predicted\, where the playing would take them. It’s been a long and fascinating road to numerous\, exciting destinations. Two things have never changed: They still love playing as much as they did as kids in Washington\, D.C. and there are still many\, many exciting miles yet to travel on their musical odyssey.

At sixteen\, he recorded his first album and soon after moved to Idyllwild Arts Academy in California\, where he studied classical guitar and was introduced to the spiritual traditions that would become central to both his life and his work. \n\n\n\nBlending roots and folk with subtle electronic textures\, Hall’s music explores themes of love\, transformation\, and connection. His deeply personal songwriting and global influences have cultivated a loyal fan base and carried him to iconic stages on sold out tours around the world.  \n\n\n\nHis most recent album\, Trevor Hall and the Great In-Between\, marks a bold new chapter\, expanding his sonic landscape while remaining grounded in the raw\, reflective storytelling that defines his work. \n\n\n\nThis summer\, Hall launches The Monsoon Nights Tour—an unprecedented celebration of his decades-long relationship with India. For the first time\, Indian musicians will join him on stage\, honoring the culture and teachings that have deeply shaped his path. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Will EvansWill Evans pulls everyone into his embrace. He musically accesses a space without boundaries where all are welcome to commune openly and move freely. Through quotable folk-inspired lyrics\, breezy grooves\, and roots energy\, it’s as if he’s giving you permission to be that pure self you can’t always be at work or even at home… \n\n\n\nThe Rhode Island-based singer\, songwriter\, and multi-instrumentalist also puts his words into action via his “Kind Folk” fan community\, activating small acts of kindness\, charity\, and goodwill in tandem with performances nationwide. After generating over 50 million streams independently\, he inspires once again through a series of 2024 releases and much more to come. \n\n\n\n“I want to make music that moves you\,” he states. “It’s rooted in compassion\, kindness\, and community. With anything I release\, there’s a lot of passion behind it. I’m always giving you the most authentic version of myself.” \n\n\n\nBuzzing out of the East Coast\, he has consistently engaged and enraptured a fervent audience. By rotating between acoustic guitar\, didgeridoo\, handpan\, percussive beatboxing\, and more\, he has developed a living and breathing signature sound of his own. Following Wishin’ Well [2013] and Signal Flares [2015]\, he reached a creative tipping point on Rise [2018]. Beyond collaborations with Trevor Hall\, Mihali\, and Paul Izak\, it yielded the fan favorites “Adam & Eve”\, “Rise” and “Hoka Hey” with over 5 million streams and counting. The album notably garnered three nominations at the New England Music Awards. 2023 saw him share After The Burnt Out Sun. Met with critical acclaim\, “a sophisticated collection\,” Seven Days professed\, “the record showcases Evans’ multi-instrumentalist prowess.” Between selling out shows across the United States and Europe\, he has graced bills alongside Crosby & Nash\, Grace Potter\, Bruce Hornsby\, Michael Franti & Spearhead\, Trevor Hall\, and Railroad Earth\, to name a few. Meanwhile\, “Kind Folk” has supported philanthropic organizations\, including Surfrider Foundation\, Operation Warm\, Do It For The Love Foundation\, Always Home\, and more. Their campaigns have ranged from beach cleanups\, clothing and food drives and benefits for land trust organizations. \n\n\n\nAll the while\, he continually pushes himself sonically. \n\n\n\n“I try to find sounds that are grounding \,” notes Will. “Everything starts with the rhythm\, but I just love to create this ethereal atmosphere like a blanket around the lyrics. I treat it like a tapestry and add colors. It almost feels spiritual.” \n\n\n\nThat’s definitely the case with the 2024 single “The Wild Unknown.” This patchwork of dreamy guitar and vibrant bells finds him in a moment of reflection. The lyrics wrestle with life’s highs and lows only to lift off on the anthemic refrain\, “We lit the fire in the wild of the great unknown.” \n\n\n\n“It talks about how the mistakes you make and the lessons you learn in life are what really shape you\,” he goes on. “All of those things are important to help you on your journey\, rather than shutting them out and considering them failures. You need to be strong enough to own those experiences and actions. Life is just a wild ride.” \n\n\n\nOn “Lay Our Weapons Down\,” his mesmerizing vocals practically float atop lithe acoustic guitar. Emotion pours straight from the heart as he wonders aloud\, “What are you gonna do when you hit the ground?” \n\n\n\nThen\, there’s “Tides.” It layers hummable melodies between gentle guitar and soft piano. He cuts deep with proclamations a la\, “It wasn’t a burden\, but it was enough to change the tides.” \n\n\n\nIn the end\, Will has built a place for you\, if you need it. \n\n\n\n“This is pure music\,” he leaves off. “It’s like my sanctuary or my connection to a higher power. I hope it can be the same for you. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to create.”

They eventually found themselves in Boone\, North Carolina where they caught the attention of folk icon Doc Watson while playing in front of a pharmacy. He invited the band to play at his festival\, MerleFest\, and the rest is history. \n\n\n\nIt’s been over twenty years since these humble beginnings. The band has gone on to receive the honor of being inducted as members of the Grand Ole Opry and have won two Grammy Awards: “Best Folk Album” for Remedy (2014) and “Best Long Form Music Video” for Big Easy Express (2013). Additionally\, their classic single\, Wagon Wheel \, received the RIAA’s Double-Platinum certification in 2019 for selling over 2\,000\,000 copies while the band’s debut album O.C.M.S. has been certified Gold (500\,000 copies). Her music\, a fusion of small-town charm and the grandeur of nature\, traces her journey from the woods to NYU’s Clive Davis Institute in New York City to Los Angeles\, where she now resides with her dachshund\, Baltimore. Establishing herself as a fresh voice in Americana\, she released her debut album\, Tales from a Bird’s Bedroom\, in June 2024\, with her sophomore record “Across The Raccoon Strait” set for release this year. Rooted in nostalgia\, nature\, and intricate human connections\, Meels’ songwriting transforms melodies into stories and confessions. Her sound blends the warmth of ’60s and ’70s folk with timeless Americana and classic country influences. As of late she has been playing sets up and down the California coast\, picking oranges in the garden with her 85 year old Grandmother Marsha June\, and writing songs on her vintage quilted bed. As she continues to grow\, Meels strives to connect with listeners who see their own stories reflected in her music. \n\n\n\n\n\nPurchase Tickets LINK \n\n\n\n\n\nThis show is presented by WCC.  No outside food or beverages allowed in Wachholz College Center.Recommended age limit 10+

SUMMARY:Caleb Klauder and Reeb Willms at Longstaff House
DESCRIPTION:Dust off your boots and gather around for some true and original modern roots honky tonk music with Caleb Klauder and Reeb Willms at Missoula’s Longstaff House 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm Thursday\, October 30\n\n\n\n\n\nDust off your boots and gather around for some true and original modern honky tonk music. An all-star cast of master musicians backs these two soul singers of country music\, Caleb Klauder and Reeb Willms. These two are known to roots music fans across the globe for their soulful harmonies\, driving dance tunes\, classic original songs\, and commitment to the raw truth of rural American music. They live in the San Juan Islands of Washington\, though until recently\, home was Portland\, OR. They are foundational to the exceptional old-time and country music scene in the Pacific NW with the Caleb Klauder Reeb Willms Country Band and their membership in the Foghorn Stringband\, of which Caleb was a founding member. Charismatic performers\, they bring their unique set of talents to the stage with an eye towards good times and an ear towards the deepest songs and tunes.  \n\n\n\nCaleb Klauder and Reeb Willms both originally hail from Washington State: Caleb from the coastal islands\, and Reeb from the high desert plateau. The two have come together in music and are hailed as some of the most compelling musicians making country roots music in America today. When these two sing together\, their honest incantations leave us spell-bound and smiling.  \n\n\n\nTheir repertoire is made up of original songs and tunes as well as gems from American roots repertoires\, and the music they make is Americana in the truest sense of the word. Music is clearly in their blood. Caleb and Reeb’s originals and interpretations of songs have been covered and recorded by many performers and their musical presence reaches into a diverse and loyal fanbase\, giving credence to the impact that this duo has on their listeners. Pillars of the Northwest music scene\, they carry the torch of their music around the world\, and can be found touring as a duo\, as well as with the Foghorn Stringband\, and the Caleb Klauder Country Band. Their fans exude admiration for the timeless sound that these two produce\, capturing the essence of American roots music.  \n\n\n\nSometimes we get so unnecessarily swept up in who’s rising and falling in music these days that the sheer joy of music is overlooked. One of the great things about Caleb and Reeb is that they are a world apart from all of that nonsense and let you immerse yourself in the melody and story of classic sounding country music until all other cares of life fade away. Country music is the music of working people who use it to pass the time and forget about the ever-present hardships in their lives. After years of touring together\, Reeb and Caleb work intuitively.  \n\n\n\nCaleb’s study and understanding of roots music is so dedicated and rich\, that he can hauntingly immerse himself in the same perspective of those old primitive country composers and write as if he was right beside them. Their album Innocent Road includes a clutch of lovingly arranged Klauder originals\, along with well-placed and rare covers. The pair bring the spirit of legendary country duos into their contemporary takes on country music. Trading vocals back and forth\, they complement each other strikingly well in an attractive meld of honky-tonk that brushes shoulders with trad bluegrass. Caleb has penned over 50 songs many of which are standards across America in honky tonk and bluegrass jams and festivals\, both on and off stage.  There is a long list of bands and singers who have recorded Caleb’s songs over the years.   \n\n\n\nThe blend of true harmonies\, the sharply-written country songs\, and the un-showy authenticity strike a rich vein that makes them seem like they are born and raised in Music City.  They quietly pursue a musical vision without much of a care for what’s expected or in vogue at the time. There’s a lot to admire in this singular perseverance and honesty.

SUMMARY:Scott Pemberton O Theory at Great Northern Bar
DESCRIPTION:Scott Pemberton brings his O Theory style of freaky\, fun and weird Timber Rock to the Great Northern Bar and Grill in Downtown Whitefish from 9:00 pm to Midnight on Monday\, December 29\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors @ 8:30 pm \n\n\n\nScott Pemberton’s sound is much like the vibe of his native Portland: freaky\, fun and just the right amount of weird. The best way to categorize his music is with the moniker “Timber Rock”. Scott naturally applies his own lens/stamp to the sounds of the Pacific North West\, the region he has always called home. The deep jazz\, NW rock/grunge\, blues roots and the west coast funk. It’s all there\, and often all in the same song. Listeners are finding this honest\, original and to-the-point music refreshing and fun. The mastery of his guitar playing combined with the fun recklessness of his songwriting show that the rules of songwriting and playing the guitar no longer exist for him. Scott plays with the uninhibited joy and intensity of someone who recognizes that every time we make music is an honor and a gift.

SUMMARY:Lovesick Ball with Malcolm Contreras & Soup Du Jour and The Dead & Down at Zootown Arts Community Center
DESCRIPTION:KBGA presents The Lovesick Ball featuring Malcolm Contreras & Soup Du Jour and The Dead & Down at Zootown Arts Community Center in Downtown Missoula at 7:30 pm Thursday\, February 12\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors @ 7:00 pm \n\n\n\nMalcolm Contreras and Soup Du Jour are a 4-piece band consisting of Lane Ulberg\, Llwyn Clark-Gaynor\, and Cooper Godfried. These fellas put on a spectacular spectacle\, only seen about once every two months that ranges from indie rock to shoegaze to ambient music\, folk\, and bedroom pop. \n\n\n\nThe Dead & Down are an indie roots-rock band inspired as much by the vast landscapes and dramatic mountain ranges of their Montana home as they are by the myriad musical influences that weave through their sound. Based around the introspective songwriting and dusty vocals of frontman Taylor Burlage\, the band navigates sonic trails between rust-flecked alt country and atmospheric indie rock\, with detours through psychedelia and genre-bending experimentation. They have opened for the likes of Fruition\, Futurebirds\, The Last Revel and Blind Pilot. They have hit the stage at Zootown Music Festival\, Treefort Music Fest and more. Their 2024 release\, No Broken Bones\, displays the sound of a band willing to take chances and explores the human condition in fun and surprising ways. \n\n\n\n“The Dead & Down have a sound that doesn’t fit into one bin. They combine elements of Country\, Americana\, and Rock for a sonic experience that stays interesting. Their new song\, “Switchbacks” has a solid country-rock feel\, but the break in the middle is a lot more akin to prog rock. It’s a combo that works!” – Bob Wall\, KGVM Bozeman

And now\, the definitive Primus line-up – singer/bassist Les Claypool\, guitarist Larry LaLonde\, and drummer Tim Alexander – is back together and planning on getting the worldwide masses bobbing up and down in unison once more. \n\n\n\nAlthough originally formed in 1984\, it was not until shortly before the end of the decade that the aforementioned classic line-up was solidified. With most hard rock/heavy metal acts at the time either neatly falling into either “thrash” or “glam” categories\, Primus joined a variety of underground bands that refused to be pigeonholed (and by the early ’90s\, had fully infiltrated the mainstream) – merging metal\, funk\, alternative\, punk\, country\, roots rock\, and experimental music\, along with Claypool’s penchant for witty and often humorous storytelling lyrics. \n\n\n\nBuilding a large and loyal following first in and around San Francisco (before eventually\, going global)\, Primus kicked things off with a string of releases that are now considered classic alt-rock titles – 1989’s ‘Suck on This\,’ 1990’s ‘Frizzle Fry\,’ 1991’s ‘Sailing the Seas of Cheese\,’ 1993’s ‘Pork Soda\,’ and 1995’s ‘Tales from the Punchbowl.’ Along the way\, Primus toured with some of rock’s biggest names (Jane’s Addiction\, Public Enemy\, Rush\, U2\, etc.)\, headlined the third-ever Lollapalooza Festival\, and issued a variety of crafty music videos\, which stood out in sharp contrast to the ultra-seriousness of most other video clips at the time. \n\n\n\nAlexander exited Primus in 1996\, but returned in 2003\, in time for an EP/DVD set\, ‘Animals Should Not Try to Act Like People\,’ and a sold out reunion tour\, that lasted over the next few years\, before the drummer departed once more. But as Claypool got to work on putting together a forthcoming book about the band’s history\, Les began longing for the days of when Alexander’s unmistakable and powerful drumming provided the beat. A phone call was placed\, a conversation ensued\, and before you could say\, “Here come the bastards\,” the Claypool-LaLonde-Alexander line-up was back in business. Plans to tour the world over and offering up new music are already in place. Be forewarned…here they come! \n\n\n\nAlthough originally formed in 1984\, it was not until shortly before the end of the decade that the aforementioned classic line-up was solidified. Plans to tour the world over and offering up new music are already in place. Be forewarned…here they come! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Les Claypool’s Frog BrigadeAfter over 20 years\, Les Claypool will once again hit the road with his Fearless Flying Frog Brigade for the Summer of Green Tour. Long considered to be one of the animated bassist’s most beloved bands\, this incarnation of the ever-morphing act boasts longtime Frog Brigade members Skerik (saxophone) and Mike Dillon (percussion\, vibraphone)\, as well as Sean Lennon (guitar)\, Harry Waters (keyboards) and Paulo Baldi (drums). However\, when Claypool initially dreamed up the Frog Brigade at the dawn of the new Millennium\, he actually considered it to be more of his “therapy project.” \n\n\n\nAt the time\, Primus—his long-running\, festival-approved alt-funk trio—had hit a rough patch and Claypool was looking for a new creative outlet. “We called it a hiatus but\, at the time\, we were broken up\,” Claypool says\, referencing Primus’ trajectory in 2000.. “Me and one of my best friends in the entire world\, Larry LaLonde\, weren’t talking.”  \n\n\n\nJust as Primus’ future was starting to feel uncertain\, Claypool was beginning to discover a new\, exciting audience thanks to a high-profile set with Oysterhead—his supergroup with Phish’s Trey Anastasio and The Police’s Stewart Copeland. After receiving an offer to perform at Angels Camp\, Calif.’s Mountain Aire Festival\, Claypool put together a new group of musicians drawn from both his inner circle and the extended improv scene. He briefly toyed with calling the project the Thunder Brigade\, before shifting to the slightly gentler moniker the Frog Brigade. Riffing to the Mountain Aire Festival’s scenic location\, he chose the name as a nod to the jumping frog of Calaveras County popularized by Mark Twain. Then\, he hopped on the road.   \n\n\n\n“I said\, ‘I’m gonna gather some of my favorite musicians together and hit the road.’ I bought this little airstream and packed these guys into this motorhome and started driving up and down the coast playing bars\,” Claypool says. “That was the original Frog Brigade—Skerik\, Jeff Chimenti\, Jay Lane\, Todd Huth from Sausage and then Eenor\, who I found on Craigslist. We just had a blast.” \n\n\n\nThe ensuing run of shows not only exposed Claypool to an entirely new\, open-eared audience but also kickstarted his second act as a solo artist. Not wanting to play songs from the Primus catalog\, Claypool loaded his Frog Brigade sets with new\, juicy originals and covers by prog-rock godfathers like King Crimson.  \n\n\n\n“When I did the Holy Mackerel record\, Highball with the Devil\, in 1996\, I always said that those were the songs I wouldn’t inflict upon the guys of Primus—I just knew that it wasn’t gonna thrill them to play those songs\,” Claypool says. “Some of them were written on guitar and some of them were written on drums. With Frog Brigade\, I was free to do that again. I was free to go in there and be a mad scientist.” \n\n\n\nHe also made the daring decision to perform Pink Floyd’s 1977 psychedelic masterpiece Animals in its entirety each night. \n\n\n\n“I’ve always wanted to play ‘Pigs’ if I had a keyboardist in my band because it’s one of my all-time favorite Pink Floyd songs\,” Claypool says. “And then we said\, ‘Why don’t we learn the whole record. That way we can play two sets.’” \n\n\n\nLes Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade\, as the ensemble soon became known\, immediately gelled both on and off the stage—connecting the dots between the jam\, punk\, prog and metal communities along the way. They played a marquee set at the inaugural Bonnaroo in 2002\, participated in the SnoCore Tour and welcomed the likes of Bob Weir and Warren Haynes to the stage. In 2001\, Claypool released Live Frogs Set 1 and 2\, the latter of which featured the Frog Brigade’s award-winning take on Animals. The following year\, the Frog Brigade dropped a full-length studio album\, Purple Onion\, which introduced a slew of new original material and won over fans and musicians alike.  \n\n\n\n“Making the Purple Onion record was an incredible experience\,” Claypool says. “Tom Waits listed it as one of his top 20 albums of all time\, and I can’t even believe that just came out of my mouth. It was a great time for creativity and experimentation. There was a lot of pasta being thrown at the walls at that time. And it was a good period of growth for me. I became way more confident and\, with the Animals set in particular\, I became way more confident in my vocals. I never really considered myself to be a singer—I always felt like I was the narrator of the band but I actually had to sing some of this material and work on my singing.” \n\n\n\nIn 2003\, Primus reunited\, and Claypool’s muse slowly started to lead him elsewhere.  “To me\, the Frog Brigade represented a certain era of what I was doing and then there was a period when I no longer had a guitar in the band. The Frog Brigade had lots of guitar and keyboard so when it became me and the cello and Mike Dillon’s melodic sense and whatnot\, it was just so different that we stopped using the name. It slowly got whittled down—it was no longer Mothers of Invention\, it just became Zappa.” \n\n\n\nYet\, the adventurous spirit Claypool rediscovered with the Frog Brigade has continued to guide his every move\, sending Primus in new directions and helping spawn solo vehicles like the Fancy Band and The Claypool Lennon Delirium\, his group with Lennon and Baldi \n\n\n\nAnd now\, over 20 years since the Frog Brigade’s last full-scale tour\, Claypool has regrouped his highly improvisational outfit for an extended run. The revamped Flying Frog Brigade plans to mix in material from all eras of Claypool’s illustrious solo career\, as well as a selection of choice covers. They will also once again perform Animals every night.  \n\n\n\n“There is a pretty rich catalog of material there so there will definitely be stuff from my entire career\,” Claypool says. “It won’t just be the Frog Brigade era\, but the big element of the Frog Brigade is gonna be playing Animals. But this time we’re doing it with just one guitar and with five marimbas and saxophones so this will be a new interpretation\, obviously—a different interpretation with Sean in there. There might be a Delirium song. There are a lot of popsicle sticks on the table to build some things with.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Claypool Lennon DeliriumTwo worlds have collided\, and what glorious and odd worlds they are. After a successful summer tour\, pairing Primus with Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger\, the two bandleaders\, Les Claypool and Sean Lennon\, have decided to combine their abstract talents into a project called The Claypool Lennon Delirium. Their efforts thus far have spawned the upcoming\, full-length release called “Monolith of Phobos.” \n\n\n\n“Sean is a musical mutant after my own heart\,” said Claypool. “He definitely reflects his genetics–not just the sensibilities of his dad but also the abstract perspective and unique approach of his mother. It makes for a glorious freak stew.” After some impromptu\, backstage jams and an epic live sit-in on Primus’s psychedelic opus\, “Southbound Pachyderm\,” Claypool approached Lennon about doing a recording project. “I was trying to wrangle up an Oysterhead reunion since Primus was taking a rest for 2016 but the planets just wouldn’t align for that\,” said Claypool. “I don’t like sitting around\, so when Sean said he didn’t have plans for this next year\, we started kicking around the notion of making an old-school\, psychedelic/prog record. Next thing I know\, he’s staying in my guesthouse\, drinking my vino and banging on my drums.” \n\n\n\nLennon responded\, “I told Les that I was Neil Diamond’s nephew. I think that is what really sold him on the idea of working with me.” \n\n\n\nOver the course of six weeks or so\, the two wrote and recorded a total of ten songs with both of them sharing various vocal and instrumental responsibilities\, going beyond their core instruments of bass and guitar. Claypool explained\, “Usually I play the drums and percussion on my records but Sean has such a different feel than I do\, it just made more sense for him to man the kit on most of the tunes on this project. I took the helm at my old vintage API console and let him bang away. He was happy as a piggy rolling in shit every time he grabbed the sticks…his drumming is like a cross between Ringo and Nick Mason. But I think folks will be most surprised by what a monster guitar player he is\, especially when you prod him a bit.” \n\n\n\n“Monolith of Phobos” is just how the title implies–an old-school approach to a psychedelic space rock record. \n\n\n\nLennon added\, “It’s been an honor and a challenge playing with someone of Les’ caliber\, but luckily the Gods of Pinot Noir shone favorably down and granted us a bundle of devilish tunes about monkeys\, outer space and sexual deviancy.” \n\n\n\nThe Claypool Lennon Delirium “Monolith of Phobos” record is slated for a spring release and the band will be touring through the summer.

The collection marks the pair’s first release of all new\, original songs since their 2021 self-titled album\, which earned praise from Rolling Stone (“pristine acoustic picking collides with hazy\, dream-like psychedelia”) Mojo\, NPR Music\, American Songwriter and more. \n\n\n\nStarting over a decade ago playing coffee shops and local restaurants around North Carolina\, Watchhouse is a grassroots success story that’s been driven by Marlin’s poignant songwriting. With sold-out shows at legendary venues like Red Rocks and the Ryman Auditorium\, and hundreds of millions of streams\, they’ve earned a reputation for creating music that “redefines roots music for a younger generation” (Washington Post). The duo – now with a family of their own – are two singers and musicians with profound chemistry\, performing earnest yet masterfully crafted songs that encompass the unknowable mysteries\, existential heartbreak\, and communal joys of modern life. The forthcoming album is no exception. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Two RunnerTwo Runner was formed in the fall of 2020 when neighbors Paige Anderson & Emilie Rose became friends and started playing music together. The duo quickly garnered national attention after being featured on GemsOnVHS. They have toured extensively for the last five years alongside celebrated acts such as Sierra Ferrel\, Nick Shoulders\, Watchhouse\, and many others. \n\n\n\nAnderson\, no stranger to the road\, grew up in a touring family bluegrass band. After joining Chuck Ragan’s “Revival Tour” as a teenager\, she discovered the power of raw\, honest songwriting and took it to heart. \n\n\n\nTheir debut album\, Gar Hole Records release\, “Modern Cowboy” was met with national acclaim\, as well as their premiere “Late Dinner”. \n\n\n\nIn 2025 the band grew to include multi-instrumentalist Lucas Lawson to accommodate the band’s ever evolving and innovating sound. \n\n\n\nTheir second full-length album will be released on Gar Hole Records in Summer 2026.

SUMMARY:Kaley Lane Eaton's Plectrum Five at Longstaff House
DESCRIPTION:Kaley Lane Eaton’s Plectrum Five bring their unique American roots / folk sound to Missoula’s Longstaff House 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm Friday\, June 26\n\n\n\n\n\nPart new music ensemble\, part American roots string band\, and part historical music excavators\, the conservatory punks of the Plectrum Five combine the improvisatory timbral explorations of their urban experimental orientation with the Rocky Mountain folk twang of their collective family trees (with a touch of Balkan flair\, and whatever else might be lingering in our ancestral pasts). When you hear the Plectrum\, you might imagine a covered wagon lilting harshly over the rocks and boulders of the Bozeman Trail\, the metal utensils clanging like the resonator\, bouzouki and banjo\, kids in the back crying like the cello\, all in a plodding rhythm that promises you’ll get there soon. You might be reminded of a time in the past when the only music you heard came from living\, breathing people playing wooden instruments\, who asked you to sing and dance along. This might evoke a deep knowing that survival\, joy\, and collective music-making\, are\, somehow\, intertwined.  \n\n\n\nThe Plectrum Five is fronted by artistic director Kaley Lane Eaton (vocals\, banjo\, other th(str)ings as needed)\, with Rian Souleles (Greek bouzouki)\, Tom Baker (guitar\, resonator guitar)\, Mariah Larsen/Lady Zade (cello)\, Jon Butler (bass and vocals)\, and Kayce Guthmiller (viola and vocals). Yes\, there are six people in the core band of the Plectrum Five. And sometimes\, there are even more – when we expand beyond this\, inviting global traditions to make something greater than the sum of our parts\, we become the Ineffable String Band. Limitless and unable to be captured or articulated\, we celebrate the ephemeral nature of music\, something so fragile and fleeting and yet strong enough to become the connective tissue of humanity.
