DESCRIPTION:Tony Furtado and John Reischman join forces to bring their blend of Americana\, bluegrass\, folk and swing to Missoula’s Longstaff House 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm Friday\, May 22\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery once in a blue moon\, true stars collide.  We are honored to present banjo and guitar master\, Tony Furtado\, returnig to Longstaff House with our good friend and mando-master\, John Reischman making his 6th appearance.  This should be a memorable night. \n\n\n\nVery few musicians of any stripe so personify a musical genre as completely as Tony Furtado embodies Americana roots music. Tony is an evocative and soulful singer\, a wide-ranging songwriter and a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist adept on banjo\, cello-banjo\, slide guitar and baritone ukulele who mixes and matches sounds and styles with the flair of a master chef. Tony is also an accomplished and awarded sculptor. Visit the gallery and store to view and purchase his ceramic creations. \n\n\n\nA member of the groundbreaking Tony Rice Unit\, John Reischman’s mastery of bluegrass\, old-time\, swing\, and multiple Latin American musical styles\, coupled with an Old Master’s sense of tone\, taste\, and musicality\, has brought him a global reputation as one of the finest mandolinists of his era.\n\n\n\nGrammy Award-winning musician John Reischman has been a foundational mandolinist\, composer\, bandleader\, and musical educator in bluegrass and North American roots and folk music since emerging from the vibrant “new acoustic” bluegrass music scene of the Bay Area in the 1980s.
