Beginner to intermediate division slalom race. Head-to-head rafting and the paddleboard race in Bigfork Bay is returning for it’s eighth year! \n\n\n\nThis is the longest running event in Bigfork and is one that the entire Flathead Valley looks forward to each year. Participants come from around the world to race. Spectators are also a huge part of this festival and come to enjoy the races and other events held in town. \n\n\n\nBigfork\, Montana is located on the north end of Flathead Lake\, where the Swan River spills into Bigfork Bay. The last mile of the Swan River\, known as the “Wild Mile”\, is a class IV section of whitewater. It is the perfect whitewater venue with a scenic nature trail paralleling the north side\, giving spectators front row seats for some of the best whitewater action in the area. Tony is an evocative and soulful singer\, a wide-ranging songwriter and a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist adept on banjo\, cello-banjo\, slide guitar and baritone ukulele who mixes and matches sounds and styles with the flair of a master chef. Tony is also an accomplished and awarded sculptor. Visit the gallery and store to view and purchase his ceramic creations. \n\n\n\nA member of the groundbreaking Tony Rice Unit\, John Reischman’s mastery of bluegrass\, old-time\, swing\, and multiple Latin American musical styles\, coupled with an Old Master’s sense of tone\, taste\, and musicality\, has brought him a global reputation as one of the finest mandolinists of his era.\n\n\n\nGrammy Award-winning musician John Reischman has been a foundational mandolinist\, composer\, bandleader\, and musical educator in bluegrass and North American roots and folk music since emerging from the vibrant “new acoustic” bluegrass music scene of the Bay Area in the 1980s.
