SUMMARY:Folk ensemble Rising Appalachia at Wachholz College Center
DESCRIPTION:Folk ensemble Rising Appalachia performs at Wachholz Community Center on the FVCC campus in Kalispell 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday\, March 15\n\n\n\n\n\nWCC welcomes Rising Appalachia to the Flathead Valley. \n\n\n\nRising Appalachia is an internationally touring folk ensemble steeped in the soul of the South. It is the brainchild of Atlanta-raised sisters Leah Song and Chloe Smith\, rooted in the rich musical traditions of their family and their journey into song as performers\, writers\, and song catchers. They have that touch that only siblings can have. And now\, fresh off the press\, they present their first album of cover songs Folk & Anchor\, a carefully curated collection of remakes. From Bob Dylan to Hoizer\, Erykah Badu to Beyonce\, hear these songs in a voice uniquely their own. Recorded at Echo Mountain in Asheville North Carolina\, the band has leaned into new renditions of old favorites\, showcasing their wide range of style and sound. \n\n\n\nRising Appalachia makes music as a reflection of their times\, blending Americana music with lyrics\, rhythm and poetry of our times. The band’s unique sound was shaped by Leah and Chloe’s soulful vocals\, simple instrumentation\, and seamless harmonies\, unique to siblings steeped in the multi-generational music of the South. They are joined by a host of incredible musicians who bring their own cultural influences\, enriching the blend of Appalachian\, Irish\, Americana\, Latin and world roots music that defines the smooth sound of Rising Appalachia. \n\n\n\nFronted by Leah and Chloe\, and featuring full-time members David Brown (upright bass\, baritone guitar)\, Duncan Wickel (fiddle\, cello)\, and Biko Casini (drums and percussion)\, expect to be swooned into a tapestry of silky sounds. Their journey has taken them around the world\, from sailboat tours across British Columbia to street theater festivals in Southern Italy\, a full-time busking career in New Orleans\, and traditional song studies in Ireland\, Bulgaria\, Latin America\, and beyond. \n\n\n\nThey also continue to immerse in community building\, cultural exchange programs\, traditional folkloric studies\, and music gathering everywhere that they go. Their dedication for nearly two decades to their craft has led them to acclaimed appearances (Telluride and Bluegrass Festival\, Preservation Jazz Hall\, Bob Boilen’s Tiny Desk Concert\, Red Rocks\, and many more) and sold-out concerts at venues across the world. Through their music\, Rising Appalachia bridges culture and stories\, creating connections that resonate deeply with their audiences of all ages\, shapes\, and sizes. Expect a boot-stomping banjo tune alongside an acapella ballad… all mashed up with breathtaking cello\, a flatpicking guitar medley\, and undeniable groove. \n\n\n\nEschewing established industry norms\, Leah\, Chloe\, and their team have followed the invitation to intuitively and independently forge their own path. Sixteen years and seven studio albums in\, this is their first full cover album and it welcomes you into an ambitious adventure that has already taken these medicine women around the world and back. Come and make this music your own.

SUMMARY:Local Author Julie Petrou - Reading and Signing at Fact & Fiction
DESCRIPTION:Meet local author Julie Petrou for a Reading and Signing at Fact & Fiction at 7:00 pm Wednesday\, March 18\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Books: \n\n\n\nShadows of Defiance: For Anna\, a teacher in 1952\, a simple errand becomes a journey into the past. Ripped from her own time and thrown into the brutal Second Seminole War of 1835\, she finds herself in a strange world\, with a purpose she doesn’t understand. Although drawn to Alligator\, a brave Muskogee leader\, Anna’s true mission is to save the life of a woman who will become her great-great-grandmother. Every step in the past is a fight for her family’s future\, yet a bond with Alligator forms\, leading to a connection more profound than she could have imagined. Anna soon learns that her visit to the past has created a link that can never be broken. Unwillingly returned to her own time\, she is heartbroken\, pregnant\, and alone. Having completed her mission by saving her ancestor\, she must accept the impossible truth: she is carrying Alligator’s child\, a legacy that will forever bind her to a century she was never meant to be a part of. \n\n\n\nGuardian: Origin of the Amulet: When the Spanish arrive on Incan soil\, Aniya’s fate is sealed – until her father\, a master of ancient mystical enchantments\, forges a powerful amulet to protect her. But\, protection comes at a price. Torn between duty and heart\, the young conquistador\, Mateo\, defies an empire to save her and rescue her family from an uncertain fate. Together the flee to the quiet shores of Guadeloupe\, hoping to build a life of peace. But the world they left behind refuses to forget them. With pirates on the horizon and old enemies closing in\, they must stand together. Aniya and Mateo rely on the amulet’s true power to protect them against impossible odds. They’re not only fighting for their lives\, they’re also fighting for their legacy. \n\n\n\nDream Keeper: Until now\, Andrea had never put stock in the mystic foretelling of a Tarot Reading. Her purchase of an enchanted amulet\, combined with a more than mysterious reading\, began a nightmare that whisked her away from all she knew and into a life of numerous dangers. Unwillingly thrust into a different century\, Andrea finds her purpose in 1798\, having been escorted to a place and a time that needs the amulet’s help. Fear\, friendship\, romance\, and history are played like instruments by the amulet’s divination\, as Andrea unravels the threads of its deeper story. Dream Keeper immerses the reader in life after war and the resettling of a diverse culture. This mesmerizing story will draw you into a mystery alongside a young woman who struggles with the turmoil of modern crimes against humanity and the trauma of being a victim. \n\n\n\nAbout the Author: Julie Petrou was born and raised in Idaho and now makes her home in western Montana. Having raised her children\, she now enjoys spending time with her grandchildren whenever she gets the chance. The author of three books\, she loves to see the results of her labors\, whether through gardening\, crafts\, reading\, or\, most of all\, writing. Always having a place in her heart for history\, she is currently focused on indigenous tribes. She applauds their continued reverence and respect for their traditions. Embracing the outdoors\, her family\, friends\, and her puppy companions\, Julie loves to create worlds through her writing that give life to her stories; both those of the present and those who came before us\, hoping they will be understood and appreciated for years to come.

Known for their unparalleled dedication to faithfully recreating the legendary band’s live performances\, Zoso has earned accolades from both critics and fans alike. \n\n\n\nZoso’s live performances focus on the raw energy and intricate musicality of Led Zeppelin’s best-known hits and deeper tracks\, with a particular emphasis on recreating their live show experience. The band’s commitment to authenticity has earned them praise from major outlets\, with the LA Times calling them “head and shoulders above all other Led Zeppelin tributes\,” and the St. Petersburg Times describing them as “the most exacting of all the Led Zeppelin tributes.” \n\n\n\nThe band was founded in 1995 by Matt Jernigan and Adam Sandling\, both of whom are renowned for their exceptional musicianship and passion for Led Zeppelin’s music. Jernigan\, who takes on the colossal role of Robert Plant\, has a commanding stage presence that rivals the icon himself. Sandling\, who brings John Paul Jones to life\, masterfully plays bass\, keyboards\, and mandolin\, replicating the multifaceted talent of the Zeppelin legend. \n\n\n\nIn 2015\, Bevan Davies joined Zoso on drums to master the part of John Bonham. An accomplished touring and studio drummer with a resume that includes playing with such artists as Danzig\, Jerry Cantrell (of Alice in Chains)\, and Static X and many more. Davies brings an unmistakable power and precision to Zoso’s live shows\, helping the band recreate Bonham’s legendary drum sound. His performance of Bonham’s legendary Moby Dick is something to behold. \n\n\n\nIn 2025\, at the age of 24\, Holston Rainero joined the band\, taking on the monumental guitar role of Jimmy Page. A fan of Zoso\, Rainero didn’t let an opportunity slip away when he learned of an opening in the band’s lineup. His story read like something straight out of a movie script; Rainero reached out directly to the band through social media to request an audition. While dozens of musicians had already contacted the band with no success\, Rainero’s determination set him apart. \n\n\n\nRefusing to take no for an answer\, he began uploading videos of himself playing classic songs from the band in his bedroom. It didn’t take long for the band to recognize his extraordinary talent. His playing was not just skilled\, it was a truly inspired performance\, with the technical mastery and soul that made it clear he was something special. \n\n\n\nThe band immediately got him to Atlanta for an in-person audition. Rainero\, ever ready\, arrived with his bags packed\, knowing he was prepared to seize the moment. His live audition exceeded all expectations\, and within days\, he was on tour with the band\, stepping into one of rock history’s most iconic roles. \n\n\n\nAfter starting out 2025 touring with Zakk Wylde on the Zakk Sabbath tour. The band has now embarked on its 30th anniversary headlining tour. New dates for the tour are being added every week with the hopes of reaching 150 shows this year.

Though often pigeonholed into “jam band” circles\, Umphrey’s doesn’t fit that traditional mold\, and their fans don’t either. Is it prog rock? Song-forward\, Beatles-esque arrangements? Be careful\, they might hit you with some metal riffs mid-set\, too. Pushing 3\,000 live gigs and 300 million+ tracks streamed\, you-had-to-be-there moments include the band’s performance at the first-ever Bonnaroo and selling more CDs (remember those?) than any other act on the bill. \n\n\n\nA leader in the live music world\, Umphrey’s McGee became the first group to launch its own single-artist streaming service with UMLive.net\, which houses recordings of every show since 2005. The service has since grown and now lives on through Nugs.net\, used by the likes of Pearl Jam\, Bruce Springsteen\, and more. \n\n\n\nBeyond intimate backstage encounters and ski trips with their most diehard fans\, Umphrey’s McGee instituted the groundbreaking “Headphones & Snowcones” program\, granting fans access to professional headphones and a soundboard-quality mix to listen wirelessly at shows. At their UMBowl\, they empowered the audience to vote on the setlist in real-time and choose favorite improv themes via text message. In 2017\, they stepped into another realm altogether by integrating themselves into VR platforms and 360 video. All of the above has earned the band status as kings of the live music scene\, with standing yearly engagements at iconic venues\, their own events in Morocco (Morockshow)\, Iceland (Rockjavick) and Dominican Republic and Mexico (Holidaze)\, and co-hosting Chillicothe\, IL’s long-running Summer Camp festival. \n\n\n\nIn April 2025\, Umphrey’s led their faithful fans on another bucket list musical adventure: Morockshow\, a three-night event in Marrakech\, Morocco. This marked yet another signature international destination for the band’s one-of-a-kind live experiences. \n\n\n\nFollowing their 2022 full-length Asking For A Friend\, which showcased more evolved songwriting and thoughtful arranging\, the band released the Out of Focus EP in July 2025 followed by their full length Blueprints album in September 2025. The new material draws from deep fan engagement\, with compositions born from live “Raw Stewage” segments voted on by the UM faithful. These songs were recorded live during their exclusive Top Note Sessions at Chicago’s Metro\, fusing the raw energy of improvisation with studio-quality fidelity. \n\n\n\nAs Umphrey’s McGee steps into their next chapter\, they remain a band in constant evolution—restless\, fearless\, and deeply connected to their audience.

SUMMARY:Jumbo Celebration Hike with Montana Dirt Girls
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate 25 years of outdoor shenanigans with the Montana Dirt Girls when they host an anniversary Jumbo Celebration Hike starting from the Lincoln Hills Saddle trailhead at 6:00 pm Tuesday\, April 7\n\n\n\n\n\nCelebrate 25 years of hiking\, biking\, skiing and various shenanigans in the outdoors with Montana Dirt Girls! The plan is to hike from the Lincoln Hills saddle to the top of Jumbo\, pop some champagne & enjoy the company and views. It’s hard to believe\, but 25 years ago we had the first Montana Dirt Girls bike ride. It was born out of frustration that there wasn’t a women’s mountain bike group for new riders to learn skills and meet others who had similar interests. Now we are doing it and then some! \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: \n\n\n\n*Yourself\, most importantly!*Food to share at the top of Jumbo if you can (don’t let this stop you\, we’d rather just have you show up) \n\n\n\n*Good energy in helping to enjoy the spirit we have all created over the past years. \n\n\n\n* Wear some fun clothing (tutu’s\, crazy hats and sparkles welcome)Trailhead LocationMap of Route \n\n\n\nThe hike will be about 4 miles with 1000’ of elevation gain. \n\n\n\nIt might be a good idea to leave dogs at home this time or have them leashed at the top as we’ll have food on the ground that will be tempting for them to enjoy.

DESCRIPTION:Logjam Presents welcomes Jeff Tweedy for a live concert performance on the “Twilight Override” 2026 Tour with special guest Macie Stewart at The Wilma in Downtown Missoula at 7:30 pm Tuesday\, April 7\n\n\n\n\n\nLogjam Presents welcomes Jeff Tweedy for a live concert performance on the “Twilight Override” 2026 Tour with special guest Macie Stewart at The Wilma in Downtown Missoula at 7:30 pm Tuesday\, April 7. \n\n\n\nTickets on sale at Logjam Presents Box Offices and online while supplies last. This is a fully-seated event with general admission seated floor and reserved balcony seating tickets available. All ages are welcome. \n\n\n\nTake a look at these tips to best prepare yourself for a smooth ticket buying experience. \n\n\n\nAdditional ticketing and venue information can be found here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Jeff TweedyWhen you align yourself with creativity and creation\, you align yourself with something that other people call God. And if you align yourself with creation\, you have automatically taken a side against destruction. You’re on the side of creation. And that does a lot to quell the impulse to destroy. \n\n\n\nIs the world getting darker? Sure feels like it. What is it? Is it the pervasive nagging toothache of dread that comes with witnessing the disintegration of a country that you thought you knew and understood? A home you still love with a love that could never be taken away\, regardless of how painful that love has become. That sense of decline is hard to ignore\, and it must at least be a part of the shroud  I’m trying to uncover. The twilight of an empire seems like a good enough jumping-off point when one is jumping into the abyss. \n\n\n\nTwilight sure is a pretty word\, though. And the world is filled with former empires\, so maybe that’s not where this dissonance is coming from entirely. Could be how old I’ve managed to become without warning. My own personal Twilight. What ever it is out there (or in there) squeezing this ennui into my day\, it’s fucking overwhelming. It’s difficult to just ignore. Twilight Override is my effort to overwhelm it right back. Here are the songs and sounds and voices and guitars and words that are an effort to let go of some of the heaviness and up the wattage on my own light. My effort to engulf this encroaching nighttime (nightmare) of the soul. \n\n\n\nWhat I really want to do is grow my heart big enough to love everyone. And if I want a heart to grow big enough to meet this moment\, it requires something expansive. “Like a TRIPLE record!?”\, you ask? Yes! Like a goddamn triple record! I mean…What else do I have but my songs and my family and my friends? What else do any of us have to keep the lights on? How else can I generate my own light? To me any song\, no matter what the subject matter\, can be a point of light and that’s one of the reasons I try and make so many of them. They all have the potential\, even the heaviest music on the Earth has the potential\, to lift someone up. This sounds like a Hallmark card\, but it rocks harder than a Hallmark card. \n\n\n\nI’m aware the day ends and the sun sets no matter how hard we wish for it to lift itself back out of the ocean. So I guess what we’re really talking about is time. In a way these three records represent the past\, present and future. The darkness comes and goes. But the clock keeps plowing ahead. We all want more. But not more of this particular shitty time. It feels like the clock is camped out at the worst part of the day. Everyone stuck saying goodbye to the future they woke up to. Waiting for it to get dark enough to dream up a new day. \n\n\n\nTruthfully\, I’ve been doing this for a long time. And I’m not going anywhere. This is the stuff that works for me. I can’t sing and be afraid at the same time. And dreaming at twilight isn’t forbidden. Not quite a daydream and nowhere near a nightmare. Twilight dreaming is a lovely workaround. Killing time with key changes and harmonies. Feel free to join us all here. Not singing into the void or at the void. Just singing. Feeling good. Together. It will do you no harm. Sharing this music with the world is the best I can do. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Macie StewartMacie Stewart is a musician and multi-disciplinary artist based in Chicago\, IL. Heralded for their versatility\, Stewart works with piano\, violin\, guitar\, voice\, and synthesizers\, effortlessly traversing styles and scenes. Stewart is a distinguished\, go-to collaborator who Pitchfork credits with “making some of the best tracks of the past five years transcendent.” \n\n\n\nAs a composer\, Stewart’s work continues to dissolve the boundaries between disciplines. Aside from her debut record\, “Mouth Full of Glass” released in 2021 on Orindal Records and rereleased in 2022 on Full Time Hobby Records- Macie also composed a piece for Hubbard Street Dance’s film\, “Half of Us\,” alongside Sima Cunningham in 2021. That same year\, they worked with Sima Cunningham and Alex Grelle to produce a performance piece paying homage to Kate Bush. In 2022\, Stewart/Cunningham composed the score for a 50-piece orchestra premiering the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s “Before I Was.” And in 2023\, choreographer Robyn Mineko Williams enlisted Stewart to create a sound installation for her dreamlike performance piece\, Hisako House. Most recently\, Stewart was invited to compose a site-specific piece for the ESS Florisonic Installation at Lincoln Park Conservatory. As part of the longest running sound installation in North America\, their twenty-minute composition titled “The World Doubles in Size” played in the conservatory’s fern room from September through November of 2024.

SUMMARY:Larry Fleet "Another Year Older" 2026 Tour at Wachholz College Center
DESCRIPTION:Tennessee-born country troubadour Larry Fleet performs live on his “Another Year Older” 2026 Tour at Wachholz College Center on the FVCC campus in Kalispell at 7:30 pm Thursday\, April 9\n\n\n\n\n\nTennessee-born troubadour Larry Fleet grew up on a stack of records that spun everything from Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson to Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye. That mix shaped a sound rooted in country storytelling but unafraid to reach beyond its borders. A thoughtful songwriter with a knack for sharp one-liners\, sturdy hooks\, and a powerhouse voice that cuts straight to the truth\, Fleet was working blue-collar jobs long before ever landing a record deal. \n\n\n\nA devout family man and respected songwriter (including co-writing “Man Made A Bar\,” recorded by Morgan Wallen featuring Eric Church)\, Fleet has built an impressive catalog: 2019’s aptly titled “Workin’ Hard”\, 2021’s “Stack of Records” – a nod to the music that raised him – 2023’s “Earned It” with the standout “Things I Take for Granted\,” and now 2025’s independently released “Hard Work & Holy Water”. \n\n\n\nFleet is doing things his own way – touring globally\, connecting with fans\, and staying true to where he’s from while taking country music somewhere new.  \n\n\n\n\n\nPURCHASE TICKETS LINK

SUMMARY:Artist David Secrest exhibit opening "The Unprejudiced Silence of Things that Are” in the Wanda Hollensteiner Art Gallery at Wachholz College Center
DESCRIPTION:The Wanda Hollensteiner Art Gallery holds an opening exhibit reception for “David Secrest: The Unprejudiced Silence of Things that Are” at Wachholz College Center on the FVCC campus in Kalispell 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday\, April 10\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Wanda Hollensteiner Art Gallery presents “David Secrest: The Unprejudiced Silence of Things that Are” at Wachhold College Center on the FVCC campus in Kalispell. The show opens April 7 and runs through May 23\, 2026\, with a free public opening reception on Friday\, April 10\, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. \n\n\n\nDavid Secrest is a nationally known sculptor and blacksmith celebrated for his mastery of forged iron\, fabricated steel and bronze. He is also an accomplished draftsman\, ceramicist and woodworker. Secrest has designed\, engineered\, and hand-built his extraordinary home and sculpture studio in the woods above Flathead Lake near Somers\, a setting that has shaped his solitary creative process. Over a career spanning more than four decades\, he has developed a singular visual language rooted in natural form\, material history and the intentional manipulation of metal. \n\n\n\nIn 2017\, Secrest was named “Master Metalsmith” by the Metal Museum in Memphis\, Tennessee — one of the highest distinctions in the field. The honor is awarded to artists with more than 20 years of exceptional studio practice and is jury selected by a committee of leading metalworking professionals. To date\, fewer than 40 artists have received the designation. \n\n\n\nSecrest’s sculptures and furniture are held in private and institutional collections across the country\, including the University of Montana\, and have been shown at major national venues\, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art\, SOFA Chicago\, the Armory in New York City\, the National Ornamental Metal Museum\, the Prichard Art Gallery at the University of Idaho\, and Art Market San Francisco. He has shown at the Paris Gibson Museum\, the Holter Museum\, the Missoula Art Museum\, and the Glacier Museum of Art. He has exhibited extensively with Gail Severn Gallery in Ketchum\, Idaho. \n\n\n\nHis work has been recognized with the Silvermine Guild of Artists Prize\, the Rolex Prize for Excellence in Metal\, and a WESTAF/NEA Regional Fellowship for Visual Artists. The title of this show\, “David Secrest: The Unprejudiced Silence of Things that Are\,” is a quote from the philosopher Henry Bugbee. To Secrest\, the quote evokes the quiet immutability of the objects he ultimately creates. \n\n\n\nEveryone is invited to attend the exhibition opening reception in the Wachholz College Center’s Wanda Hollensteiner Art Gallery on Friday\, April 10 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Following the opening event\, the exhibition will be available for public viewing through May 23. SUMMARY:North Hills Wildflower Walk with Montana Dirt Girls
DESCRIPTION:Meet up at Missoula’s Waterworks Trailhead Parking lot at 6:00 pm Tuesday\, April 14 with Montana Dirt Girls for a North Hills Wildflower Walk\n\n\n\n\n\nThe North Hills are popping with wildflowers now! Come enjoy a stroll up Cherry Gulch then up to the ridge. Head past the Randolph Ranch and loop back to the start.Trailhead LocationMap of Route \n\n\n\nThe hike will be about 4 miles with 700’ of elevation gain. \n\n\n\nNote: Kay & Julie will both be gone the next two weeks\, but you know what to do!We have lots of folks coming in and out each week. \n\n\n\nHere are some good rules of thumb:* Try to get the group started soon after 6:00 pm* Do intros\, ask if we have any new folks and get a head count* Break into groups if needed & find someone to coordinate each group* You don’t have to be the fastest in the group to lead but just make sure we don’t leave someone behind* Have fun!Special Hiking Notes:Hikes are geared to an intermediate level of exertion. We gather up at each turn in the trail to keep us headed in the right direction and close together. The only time we will spread out will be on out and back trails. \n\n\n\nNote: Friendly and well-behaved dogs are welcome to join us on hikes. If your pup can be aggressive or unpredictable around other dogs/people\, please leave them at home. If your dog isn’t under voice control\, please plan to leash them up for your hike. Also\, make sure you check if the area is open to dogs. There are several closures that start Dec 1 and some are yearlong. It’s also good to know the trail-specific leash protocol.

The band has made it a point to evolve with every album – sometimes dramatically so – never allowing themselves to become too comfortable in one genre or rest on any of their impressive career laurels. It’s an approach that has grown their audience but also challenged it with a sonic identity that can shift in wild\, unexpected directions. Now with their twelfth album\, Silver Bleeds the Black Sun…\, AFI are once again at the start of a bold new chapter\, only this time they’ve even managed to surprise themselves. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Choir Boy“Choir Boy” was what kids called singer/songwriter Adam Klopp in his early teens when he fronted punk cover bands in Cleveland\, Ohio. An intended insult\, the label seemed fair and fitting in a way\, given Klopp’s religious upbringing and angelic voice. After high school\, Adam left Ohio for college in Utah. While his career as a student would prove short-lived\, he integrated into Provo and SLC’s underground music and art scene\, left religion behind\, and called his new band Choir Boy. \n\n\n\n“It seemed funny to me as sort of a comical reclamation of the mocking title I received from “punk” peers as a teen. While serving as a weird reflection of my childhood and musical heritage.” \n\n\n\nSince Choir Boy’s gorgeous debut Passive With Desire\, the dream-pop outfit has gained a cult following online and in underground circles. Adam’s stunning vocal range\, layered compositions\, and heartbreaking melodies are backed by musical partner Chaz Costello on bass (Fossil Arms\, Sculpture Club\, Human Leather)\, saxophonist and keyboardist Jeff Kleinman\, and guitarist Michael Paulsen\, together creating the perfect blend of nostalgia-laced romantic pop music we’ve been waiting years to hear.

DESCRIPTION:Logjam Presents welcomes Langhorne Slim for a live concert performance on The Dreamin’ Time Tour with Laney Jones and The Spirits opening at the Top Hat in Downtown Missoula at 8:00 pm Tuesday\, April 28\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors @ 7:00 pm \n\n\n\nLogjam Presents welcomes Langhorne Slim for a live concert performance on The Dreamin’ Time Tour with Laney Jones and The Spirits opening at the Top Hat in Downtown Missoula at 8:00 pm Tuesday\, April 28. \n\n\n\nTickets on sale at Logjam Presents Box Offices and online while supplies last. On his ninth album\, The Dreamin’ Kind\, the Nashville-based songwriter plugs in his electric guitar and dives headfirst into big-hearted\, 1970s-style rock & roll. \n\n\n\nProduced by Greta Van Fleet’s Sam F. Kiszka\, the record pairs power chords and soaring hooks with the vulnerable storytelling that’s long defined Slim’s work. “It felt like I was blowing some old shit up so I could plant some new flowers\,” he says. “I love folk music\, but rock & roll tickles the same part of my soul. I wanted to explore that.” \n\n\n\nThe collaboration began after Slim opened for Greta Van Fleet\, leading to loose\, inspired sessions with Kiszka and drummer Danny Wagner. Together they built songs that move from the propulsive rush of “Rock N Roll” and the swagger of “Haunted Man” to the tender sweep of “Dream Come True” and “Stealin’ Time.” \n\n\n\nRecorded over a year in Nashville\, The Dreamin’ Kind bridges Slim’s rootsy past with a louder\, more expansive present. It’s a record of freedom and discovery\, equally at home\, in rock clubs\, and around campfires — proof that Langhorne Slim\, ever the dreamer\, still finds new ground to break with every song. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Laney Jones and The SpiritsLaney Jones grew up in the back swamps of Central Florida surrounded by orange groves\, kangaroos\, and endless quiet — the kind that lets a person dream in Technicolor. Today\, she channels that same sense of wonder and honesty into her Nashville-based band\, Laney Jones and the Spirits. Blending vintage rock with blaring riffs\, indie soul\, and cosmic Americana. \n\n\n\nTheir self-titled debut album captures the spirit of a band in full bloom – a kaleidoscope of sound and feeling that invites listeners to slow down\, reflect\, and reconnect.

SUMMARY:First Friday with Sara Siestreem at Missoula Art Museum
DESCRIPTION:Stop in at Missoula Art Museum for First Friday on May 1 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm for an unforgettable evening celebrating the opening of Acts of Love\, Refusal\, and Resistance – a powerful new exhibit featuring the work of Sara Siestreem with music by Dylan Running Crane\n\n\n\n\n\nStop in at Missoula Art Museum for First Friday on May 1 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm for an unforgettable evening celebrating the opening of Acts of Love\, Refusal\, and Resistance – a powerful new exhibition featuring the work of Sara Siestreem (Hanis Coos of the Confederated Tribes of Coos\, Lower Umpqua\, and Siuslaw Indians). Sara will be in attendance for an artist talk at 5:30 pm\, with music by Dylan Running Crane. \n\n\n\nMAM first presented Siestreem’s work in 2013\, and in the years since her artistic growth has been remarkable. Drawing on traditional basket weaving practices\, she weaves ancestral pattern motifs into bold geometric abstractions — proud and powerful expressions of Indigenous sovereignty. A recipient of the Hallie Ford Fellowship (2025) and elected 2025 National Academician by the National Academy of Design\, Siestreem is an artist in full stride\, and MAM is honored to welcome her back. \n\n\n\nSpecial thanks to the Elizabeth Leach Gallery for support in mounting this exhibition. \n\n\n\nThank you as well to Elizabeth Leach\, Janet Mohle-Boetani\, and Greg and Cathy Tibbles for the publication support\, as well as The Ford Family Foundation Visual Arts Program for exhibition support.
