But within those\, Donato has carved out a unique and individualized spot for himself\, one that speaks to the deep American music heritage that inspires him — and that he’s pushing towards the future with inspired\, intentional vigor. \n\n\n\nHe calls it Cosmic Country\, a moniker that’s both self-descriptive and a statement of purpose. It’s an organic rock band aesthetic with plenty of roadhouse twang; a showcase for Donato’s instrumental virtuosity and facility for melodically infectious songcraft. Bridging Nashville and the Great West\, Kentucky and mid-60s northern California\, tie-dye and plaid\, it’s a world of his own\, and a wide world of musical adventure at that. \n\n\n\nWhile growing up in Nashville his his father\, who turned his young son on to music of all genres\, suggested the fledgling and industriously minded (even at just 14) artist start busking in Nashville’s lower Broadway area and outside concerts\, for eight hours at a time on the weekends. One night\, the two happened by Robert’s Western World where legendary honky-tonk local mainstay the Don Kelly Band were performing. Donato eventually became a member of the band\, playing four hours a night at Robert’s (464 shows in total). \n\n\n\nHorizons is the follow up to 2023’s Reflector\, which received critical acclaim from a wide range of press\, including No Depression\, Glide Magazine\, Magnet Magazine\, and more. Donato the subject of features in Rolling Stone\, UPROXX\, Garden & Gun and Relix. Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country made their network television debut on CBS Saturday Morning and appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s #LateShowMeMusic online series. \n\n\n\nThe whole package of player\, singer\, writer and band leader was in place. Three albums in\, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country\, featuring Nathan “Sugarlegg” Aronowitz (keyboards/guitars/vocals)\, Will “Mustang” McGee (bass/vocals) and Will “Bronco” Clark (drums\, percussion/vocals) are selling out venues throughout the country and bringing their brand of Cosmic Country to an ever growing\, passionate fanbase.

DESCRIPTION:Classics vocalist Stella Cole brings the return of American standards to Wachholz College Center on the FVCC campus in Kalispell at 7:00 pm Wednesday\, February 4\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors @ 6:00 pm \n\n\n\nWCC welcomes STELLA COLE to the Flathead Valley! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLooking at the career of Stella Cole – whose third release\, It’s Magic\, released in August 2025 by Decca Records US – from a distance\, you might perceive a kind of disconnect\, as Marshall McLuhan would say\, between the medium and her message. McLuhan\, who died in 1980\, had never heard of the internet\, YouTube\, music streaming platforms – and neither did the vast majority of songwriters whose work she champions: Frank Loesser\, Meredith Willson\, Ray Noble\, Sammy Cahn\, or Jimmy Van Heusen.  Likewise\, none of the great artists whose legacy she honors\, like Judy Garland\, Frank Sinatra\, Nat “King” Cole\, or Rosemary Clooney\, would know what it meant to “go viral.” As it happens\, this is how Stella Cole first got noticed by the music industry and\, more importantly\, the larger world beyond: by performing her own interpretations of classic American popular standards and using the internet to share them.  However\, a closer look reveals that these iconic artists were no less keen to embrace new media: long-playing recordings\, television\, stereophonic sound – these were all new technologies in the 1940s and ‘50s. The idea of bringing classic American songs to new platforms hardly begins with the young Stella\, yet she has accomplished that more resoundingly successfully than virtually any other artist working today. Stella is quickly becoming known for her signature mix of jazz standards\, Broadway gems\, and beloved tunes from the Great American Songbook. Her sound is familiar\, yet fresh and stands at the crossroads of past and present\, classic and contemporary. Randall\, a University of Montana alum and the 2026 Kittredge Distinguished Visiting Writer in Environmental Studies\, will read from her new book Thirty Below: The Harrowing and Heroic Story of the First All-Women’s Ascent of Denali (Abrams\, 2025). This event is free and open to the public. \n\n\n\nAbout Thirty Below: The Harrowing and Heroic Story of the First All-Women’s Ascent of Denali:Cassidy Randall draws on extensive archival research and original interviews to tell an engrossing\, edge-of-the-seat adventure story about a forgotten group of climbers who had the audacity to believe that women could walk alone in extraordinary and treacherous heights. \n\n\n\nGrace Hoeman dreamed of standing on top of Denali. The tallest peak in North America\, the fierce polar mountain loomed large in many climbers’ imaginations\, and Grace\, a doctor in Alaska\, had come close to the top\, only to be turned back by altitude sickness and a storm that took the lives of seven fellow climbers in one remorseless blow. \n\n\n\nOther expeditions denied her a place because of her gender\, and when a letter arrived from a climber in California named Arlene Blum\, who’d also been barred from expeditions—unless she stayed in base camp and cooked for the men\, Grace got a defiant idea: she would organize and lead the first-ever all-female ascent of the frozen Alaskan peak. \n\n\n\nEveryone told the “Denali Damsels\,” as the team called themselves\, that it couldn’t be done: Women were incapable of climbing mountains on their own. Men had walked on the moon; women still had not stood on the highest points on Earth. But these six women were unwilling to be limited by sexists and misogynists. They pushed past barriers in society at large\, the climbing world\, and their own bodies. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAuthor Biography:Cassidy Randall is an award-winning writer who tells stories on the environment\, adventure\, and people who expand human potential. Her stories have appeared in Rolling Stone\, National Geographic\, the New York Times\, TIME\, Atavist\, Outside\, and Men’s Journal\, among others. She wrote The Hard Parts with Paralympian Oksana Masters\, which won an Alex Award from the American Library Association and was listed as one of the best sports books of the year by the Times.
