Since this is a Halloween tour\, we recommend dressing warmly for the cool evening air. Comfortable walking shoes are a must\, and while costumes are optional\, they’re always encouraged to add to the spirit of the evening! Quasimodo’s struggle for acceptance and love may find him to be an unlikely hero. They met four years prior as freshman at St. Mary’s University in Winona\, MN. After being in a campus rock band for the first few years of college\, the guys created Koo Koo as an experimental project for SMU’s annual battle of the bands. The idea centered around crowd participation\, comedy and dance music\, stretching the concept of a what a “band” could be. \n\n\n\nThe next few years saw Bryan and Neil touring throughout the Midwest playing bars\, basements and barbecues. Meanwhile they released their first few albums and music videos. In 2010 the band was chosen to support Orange County superhero rock band The Aquabats on their east coast tour. This turned into more support slots with Reel Big Fish and Yo Gabba Gabba Live. Meanwhile Koo Koo began creating “dance-a-long” videos for their songs to help demonstrate the moves that audiences would need to know at their shows. These videos were unexpectedly a hit with elementary school teachers\, which led Koo Koo into the world of children’s music and becoming a “real” kids’ band. \n\n\n\nMore domestic and international touring followed as the guys hit the road with The Vans Warped Tour\, Frank Turner & Sleeping Souls\, and MC Lars. Concept albums about cats\, potty humor\, self-help\, holidays and Panera Bread added to the band’s discography. Simultaneously\, the popularity of their “brain break” dance-a-long videos continued to skyrocket in classrooms around the world. \n\n\n\nIn 2021 Bryan and Neil released their first non-concept album since 2013\, partnering with Twin Cities producer extraordinaire Lazerbeak. “Slow Clap” presents a more hiphop-centric sound with plenty of grooving bass lines and monstrous drums\, while retaining the catchy\, weirdo-energy fans expect from the band. \n\n\n\nThey stepped into a new realm with their TV series “Oh Yeah Heck Yeah.” This fastpaced variety clip show features music videos\, sketches\, animation and interactive games in their irreverent\, high-energy style. We’re lucky to have a fanbase that’s along for the ride. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Hail the SunWhen Hail The Sun entered the studio to record what would become their highly-anticipated fifth full-length album\, New Age Filth\, they knew they were setting out to release their most ambitious material to date. The band\, consisting of Donovan Melero (vocals/drums)\, Aric Garcia (guitar)\, John Stirrat (bass) and Shane Gann (guitar)\, spent five weeks with producer Kris Crummett which resulted in their most collaborative and diverse album yet. \n\n\n\n“Domino”\, the energetic first single off of the record\, showcases the band’s technical prowess with instruments dancing over one another as vocalist Donovan Melero belts out his signature high-pitched vocals. Lyrically\, the track centers around reflection of self and how past actions can affect others. On writing “Domino”\, Melero stated\, “Reflecting is important. What we might discover in reflection can be a hard pill to swallow. I’m only as big as my weakest character flaw. I’m told that I talk a lot in my sleep\, and these are the things I think I say.” \n\n\n\nHail the Sun’s New Age Filth includes tracks that are heavier and poppier at the same time\, proving their ability to be extremely technical in instrumentation while also unleashing some of the catchiest hooks they’ve ever created. The influence from genre-melding predecessors like Coheed and Cambria\, At The Drive-In\, and even Yes is apparent\, but the sound is still very much a natural evolution from Hail The Sun’s past work. \n\n\n\nThe shifting musical compositions on New Age Filth perfectly accompany the emotive lyrical outpour found across the album. Continuing along the theme of reflection\, Melero weaves through painful and emotional experiences of love\, cynicism\, and touches on how awful humans can be to one another. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Delta SleepWhat started as an earnest foray into pushing the boundaries of fledging math-rock\, over the course of thirteen years has morphed into something much more for Canterbury (via Brighton) quartet Delta Sleep. Continuously surprising their listeners with every release by constantly tweaking and perfecting their sound\, so far the bands expansive repertoire defies to be constrained by any strict sub-genre or category: molding their sound into something that goes beyond the labels of just math-rock.
