SUMMARY:The Last Revel with The Lowest Pair at The Wilma
DESCRIPTION:Logjam Presents welcomes The Last Revel for a live performance with The Lowest Pair at The Wilma at 8:00 pm Friday\, November 21\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors @ 7:00 pm \n\n\n\nLogjam Presents welcomes The Last Revel for a live performance with The Lowest Pair at The Wilma at 8:00 pm Friday\, November 21. \n\n\n\nTickets on sale at Logjam Presents Box Offices and online while supplies last. All tickets are general admission standing room only. All ages are welcome. \n\n\n\nTake a look at these tips to best prepare yourself for a smooth ticket buying experience. \n\n\n\nAdditional ticketing and venue information can be found here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Last RevelMuch like their sorrowful\, purposeful melodies\, the members of The Last Revel contain this thick thread of self\, and of place\, when it comes to the underlying trait in the sounds and scope of their intent\, onstage and in the studio — survival mode. \n\n\n\n“Honestly\, I don’t know if we would’ve been able to do this career for as long as we have without persistence\,” says guitarist Lee Henke. “By living in a challenging place\, it’s definitely conditioned us to have a high tolerance for discomfort\, a certain toughness to push ahead.” \n\n\n\nThat sentiment of tenacity and passion lies at the heart of The Last Revel’s latest album\, Gone for Good. Produced by Trampled by Turtles lead singer Dave Simonett\, the record is a multilayered ode to the life of an artist\, life on the road\, and what it means to be a human being in uncertain times. \n\n\n\n“This is a step in our careers that feels like there’s no going back\,” says banjoist Ryan Acker. “There’s a level of commitment now that\, just a couple of years ago\, we didn’t fathom we could take on. The boat is off the shore and you can’t see land anymore — we’re in it now.” \n\n\n\nBased in Minneapolis\, Minnesota\, the Americana/indie-folk outfit harkens to the trials\, tribulations\, and triumphs of what it means to pursue your dreams in real time. The foundation of which is conjured by a deep appreciation and genuine respect for the vast landscape and sometimes-harsh realities of what it means to emerge from the Midwest. \n\n\n\n“We grew up in the Midwest and we’ve all kind of stayed in this region of the country\,” Henke notes. “This place has imprinted itself on who we are\, and that challenge of life here is part of who we are now.” Alongside Henke and Acker is fiddler Vinnie Donatelle. When the ensemble finds themselves behind the microphone\, it’s the culmination of their vocal talents that truly showcases the mission of The Last Revel — harmony. \n\n\n\n“There’s no better feeling [when we’re singing together]\,” Acker says. “And it makes you understand something primal\, these melodies and these harmonies. It’s internal and it’s really powerful to sing your heart out with the people you love and your best friends.” \n\n\n\nThe seeds for The Last Revel were initially planted when Acker and Henke metin college in Wisconsin and started jamming together. Following graduation\, the duo eventually headed for Minnesota\, crossed paths with Donatelle\, and started putting together a musical project. By 2011\, the group was formed in Minneapolis. \n\n\n\n“The name comes from the idea of saying\, ‘One last go\, one last celebration\,’” Henke recalls. “It’s treating every show like it could be the last one kind of makes it extra special each time. It’s become a mantra through all the hardships we’ve been through — it’s crazy we get to do this\, so let’s act like it might be the last one.” \n\n\n\n“It feels like a miracle\,” Acker adds. “This is a career where\, hell or high water\, this is what I’m doing. This is something we feel genuine about creating and sharing with people — there’s no other option.” \n\n\n\nEarly on in the band’s tenure\, The Last Revel was clocking in around 200 shows each year\, and did so for several years. Burnout was real\, with the act deciding to go on hiatus in 2019 to recalibrate and reenergize what it is within the group that remains steadfast. \n\n\n\n“I tried to quit music. And then\, the moment I accepted [I was done]\, I wrote \n\n\n\nfive new songs the next day\,” Henke shakes his head in awe. “There’s always been a real therapeutic element to writing music for me. And it goes beyond that now\, where if I don’t write for [a while]\, I feel pent up — there’s something that needs to come out.” \n\n\n\nA couple years went by\, with Henke and Acker eventually circling back to one another. The musical chemistry and unbreakable camaraderie was still intact\, with each thinking the same thing — let’s give music another shot. To note\, Gone for Good is The Last Revel’s second album since reuniting in 2021. \n\n\n\n“We spent so much time together in our twenties and thirties where\, even as friends\, let’s just get back together and see how it feels\,” Acker says. “Let’s just record some music and release it.” \n\n\n\n“The first step was all about just reconnecting — to hell with anyone else giving a damn about the music\,” Donatelle adds. “The only important thing is playing some music together.” \n\n\n\nWhen The Last Revel released Dovetail in 2023\, the reunion album sparkedwildfire\, whether it was with longtime\, loyal fans of the band or newcomers coming across the group by mere happenstance. Now back on the road on the stage\, the bandmates were happily surprised by the unexpected response by sold-out gigs wherever they toured. \n\n\n\n“It kind of took us off-guard\,” Acker says of the fan response. “And it’s become this reciprocal\, motivating thing now. People didn’t forget about us\, and many more discovered our music over COVID than we had anticipated — the music we made is continuing to reach people.” \n\n\n\n“That initial response was so powerful\,” Donatelle adds. “But\, on the other end of things\, [the music] was never about any of us individually. It’s about the way that people connected to our music and just the way the music had a life of its own outside of us.” \n\n\n\nReflecting on Gone for Good\, Acker feels a real\, tangible\, more so positive shift in what it is The Last Revel aims to do moving forward. It’s this collective realm of collaboration\, all in hopes of connectivity not only between the bandmates\, but also the audience itself night in and night out — from coast-to- coast and back around to Minnesota. \n\n\n\n“And I think that shows up more on this record than ever\,” Acker says. “We’ve finally clicked on what the band’s purpose is\, the ethos behind all of this — we’re figuring out how to be ourselves and be happy through the music.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Lowest PairKendl Winter comes from Arkansas\, but she found her way to the Pacific Northwest after high school. The evergreens and damp air of Olympia\, Washington\, and the boundless music scene\, had equal draw. She released three solo records on Olympia’s indie label\, K Records\, and performed in ramblin’ folk bands and anarchic punk bands before starting The Lowest Pair in 2013 with Palmer T. Lee. Palmer built his first banjo when he was 19 from pieces he serendipitously inherited. Shortly after deciding songwriting would be the most effective and enjoyable medium for his musings\, he began cutting his teeth fronting Minneapolis string bands and touring the Midwest festival circuit\, which is where he and Kendl first met\, on the banks of the Mississippi. Kendl likes to run\, long distances\, on the dirt trail past where the logging trucks have to turn around. Palmer likes to read Mark Twain\, walk to town to the billiard hall and eavesdrop on the locals. Together\, they are The Lowest Pair\, a band Folk Radio UK describes as\, “music for sunshine and mint juleps.”

We can view the lights of Missoula before heading back.  The hike will be between 6 and 7 miles\, but with this out and back hike we can turn around anytime for a shorter jaunt.  ~1300’ elevation gain. \n\n\n\nCrazy Canyon Trailhead Parking Lot location \n\n\n\nTrail Map \n\n\n\nItems to bring: \n\n\n\n\nwater                    * snacks\n\n\n\nheadlamp             * bear spray          \n\n\n\nlayers of clothing \n\n\n\n\nWe have lots of folks coming in and out each week. Here are some good rules of thumb:* Try to get the group started soon after 6:00 pm* Do intros\, ask if we have any new folks and get a head count* Break into groups if needed & find someone to coordinate each group* You don’t have to be the fastest in the group to lead but just make sure we don’t leave someone behind* Have fun! \n\n\n\nNote: Friendly and well-behaved dogs are welcome to join us on hikes. If your pup can be aggressive or unpredictable around other dogs/people\, please leave them at home. If your dog isn’t under voice control\, please plan to leash them up for your hike. Also\, make sure you check if the area is open to dogs. There are several closures that start December 1 and some are yearlong. It’s also good to know the trail-specific leash protocol.

SUMMARY:PONS with Doris Doom at Zootown Arts Community Center
DESCRIPTION:Experience the face-melting rock spectacle that is PONS at Zootown Arts Community Center in Downtown Missoula at 6:30 pm Friday\, January 2\n\n\n\n\n\nIF YOU STOP YOU DIE – \n\n\n\nRock n’ Roll will never be a lazy game. PONS is here to set the record straight. Channeling the wild\, untamable spirit of the masters of the road that came before them\, PONS brings a relentless\, “NO MERCY” approach to DIY touring. Burning more calories in one night than most bands do in a year\, PONS doesn’t play music—they detonate on stage. \n\n\n\nNamed “NYC’s Hardest Working Band” in 2022 (and a blistering runner-up in 2023) by Oh My Rockness\, PONS has earned their place as one of the most vital and chaotic forces in the NYC underground. \n\n\n\nIn 2024\, PONS evolved into a solo project of visionary frontman Jack Parker\, and the transformation is nothing short of a sonic nuclear meltdown. A storm of sound\, fury\, and passion so fierce\, a PONS show can only be described as sublime madness. It’s angular. It’s aggressive. It’s a relentless sonic assault that drags you into the future\, kicking and screaming. \n\n\n\nSharing the stage with heavyweights like Gogol Bordello\, Lambrini Girls\, Geese\, Vundabar\, and A Place To Bury Strangers\, PONS take no prisoners. Leaving behind a trail of smashed gear\, contorted bodies\, blinding lights\, and frenetic\, throttling beats\, it’s pure glam-rock bravado colliding with punk’s raw edge and electronica’s dystopian pulse. \n\n\n\nTaking cues from the anarchic swagger of Iggy Pop\, the electronic chaos of Suicide\, the slick groove of LCD Soundsystem\, and the haunting\, glitch-filled world of Crystal Castles\, PONS spits the digital bile of our decaying\, internet-saturated world straight in your face. \n\n\n\nBEAR WITNESS TO PONS. \n\n\n\n\n\nPurchase Tickets LINK

SUMMARY:Montana Repertory Theatre "Can't Drink Salt Water" with UM School of Theatre & Dance at UM Montana Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Montana Repertory Theatre presents the world premiere of Kendra Mylnechuk Potter’s “Can’t Drink Salt Water” with the UM School of Theatre & Dance in the Montana Theatre with performances from Saturday\, February 14 through Sunday\, February 22\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors @ 30 minutes before show time \n\n\n\nWith transformative support from The Roy Cockrum Foundation\, and in partnership with UM School of Theatre and Dance\, Montana Repertory Theatre presents the world premiere of Kendra Mylnechuk Potter’s Can’t Drink Salt Water. The opening night of this gripping new play will take place Saturday\, February 14\, 2026 in the Montana Theatre on the UM Campus (PARTV Building)\, with eight additional performances following\, through February 22. \n\n\n\nJuxtaposing a mother’s relentless search for her missing daughter with the journey of a young woman newly arrived at Bethel House\, an evangelical shelter for victims of sex trafficking\, this timely story weaves together Native identity\, maternal grief\, contemporary religious faith\, humor\, and a call to action. The production showcases professional Indigenous talent from across the country\, including cast members Allison Hicks\, Jennifer Rader\, Serenity Mariana\, and Bradley Lewis\, costumes by Asa Benally\, lighting design by Emma Deane\, sound design by Rory Stitt\, and mask design and creation by Cannupa Hanska Luger. As a co-production\, it showcases UM student actors\, designers\, and crew alongside the professionals. The cast includes students Shadie Wallette\, who previously performed in the 2023 staged reading\, and Octavio Jimenez\, who has toured the state over the past year with State of Mind\, a collaboration between The Rep and the University of Montana Co-Lab for Civic Imagination. UM Students in the crew include Ronnie Avansino as the Props Designer\, Rae Scott as the Assistant Stage Manager\, and Aaron Prati as the Assistant Lighting Designer. The playwright\, Kendra Mylnechuk Potter\, is a University of Montana alum\, and is based in Missoula. \n\n\n\n“I am humbled to have the opportunity to collaborate with so many artists in this meaningful way. And for the work to get to live on this particular stage where I first worked over 20 years ago as a student\, my “home stage” as it were\, is a straight up dream\,” Potter said. “The caliber of work – soup to nuts – from designers through performers\, is just such a treat for our town to get to share in\, and getting to mingle seasoned professionals at the top of their craft while highlighting the talent here in town with that of our UM student artists is a joy that brings this experience additional heart. My sincere hope is that we are able to provide a theatrical experience that feels like a useful contribution to the issues we seek to address: Missing and Murdered Indigenous People\, community care\, ecosystems\, and seeing what (and who) has been here all along.” \n\n\n\n“The School of Theatre and Dance is proud to partner with Montana Repertory Theatre to tell this vital story. We are so grateful to the Native artists\, The Roy Cockrum Foundation\, and to all involved for sharing their artistry\, talents and resources with our students and we look forward to welcoming audiences to the Montana Theatre to see Can’t Drink Salt Water\,” said Bernadette Sweeney\, Director of UM School of Theatre and Dance. \n\n\n\n This project began in 2019 with the idea to commission an original work from an Indigenous artist\, grounded in The Rep’s action-oriented Land Acknowledgement: “Montana Repertory Theatre acknowledges that we are in the aboriginal territories of the Salish and Kalispel people. We also acknowledge the privilege of gathering on this land to share stories. We pledge to always hold a place on our stages for the stories of this land and of its first peoples.” The original commission was supported by the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center in Big Sky\, Montana\, and this story was chosen by a nationwide team of Indigenous artists\, including Lily Gladstone\, DeLanna Studi\, Madeline Sayet\, and Andre Bouchard. \n\n\n\n“The Warren Miller Performing Arts Center (WMPAC) is thrilled to see the next phase of Can’t Drink Salt Water coming to life in Missoula this spring. Any chance we can get to help support new\, adventurous work like the piece that Kendra Mylnechuk Potter has created\, we’re fully on board\, especially when it comes to cultural realities that authentically embody lived experiences here in Montana\,” said John Zirkle\, Executive Director / Artistic Director at WMPAC. \n\n\n\nThis production is supported by a generous grant from The Roy Cockrum Foundation.
Founded in 2014 by Roy Cockrum and Benita Hofstetter Koman with winnings from Mr. Cockrum’s Powerball lottery jackpot\, the Foundation’s mission is to award grants to support world-class performing arts projects in not-for-profit professional theatres throughout America. Since 2014\, 76 American theaters and performing arts organizations have received major grants from the Foundation. Inspiration for its mission derives from a Camus quote:“Without culture\, and the relative freedom it implies\, society\, even when perfect\, is but a jungle. This is why any authentic creation is a gift to the future.” ― Albert Camus\, The Myth of Sisyphus and Other Essays. This performance includes mature themes. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPurchase Tickets LINK
