Cameron Decker is Diné\, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and a descendant of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes\, with a background in arts education at MAM and Salish Kootenai College. Together they founded Xʷlxʷilt “Alive and Well\,” a Séliš Education organization dedicated to authentic Indigenous education experiences. \n\n\n\nThe evening includes an artist talk at 5:30 pm\, a no-host bar\, and live music by the Lo Horgan Siegel Trio. Hold on to what you believe\, even if it is a tree which stands by itself. Hold on to what you must do\, even if it is a long way from here. Hold on to life\, even when it is easier letting go. Hold on to my hand\, even when I have gone away from you.” – Traditional Pueblo Blessing \n\n\n\nFeaturing work by Monica Gilles-BringsYellow\, Marita Growing Thunder\, Faith Price\, Tasheena Wolfchief\, Alishon Kelly\, and the traveling exhibition “Indian Country In A Glimpse” by photographers from the Flathead Nation (Amaru Bennet\, Jason Songers\, Katie Medicine Bull\, Sara Scott\,Ricardo Costilla\, Kresta Wickum) each artist brings their own vision of the joys and beauties of their everyday existence. From documenting the beautiful land we live on and must preserve\, to ruminations on family and ancestry\, to capturing day to day life with the people around us\, this exhibit is full of beauty and power\, inviting the viewer to find peace in an ever-challenging world. \n\n\n\nReception will be First Friday\, April 3\, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Confluence Center. This seminal group of songs\, comprising the Beatles’ sixth studio release\, is full of innovative musicianship\, deep lyrics\, and indelible melodies. Unique interpretations of such classics as “Nowhere Man\,” “Drive My Car\,” “The Word\,” and “In My Life” are woven together into a tapestry of song\, dance\, film\, and scenic effects for a fresh spin on timeless songs.
