His latest evolution comes in the form of RISER\, a project due out Feb. 25\, 2014 that stands as his most personal to date. \n\n\n\nWritten and recorded in the year following his father’s death\, the album draws its title from “I’m A Riser\,” a song about resilience and determination. “I’m A Riser” works as a commentary on spiritual\, personal and societal recommitment\, but it also applies to the competitive battlefield of the music industry. It’s particularly appropriate for an album about rejuvenation delivered by Bentley. \n\n\n\n“Life in general has a way of knocking you down\,” Bentley says. “It’s different reasons for different folks – could be personal reasons\, could be family reasons\, your job\, drugs\, alcohol. That song really applies to anybody that’s lived. There have always been those moments when we have to get back up and get on our feet. They are defining moments…breakthrough moments.” \n\n\n\nAccepting change – and growing from it – is a key theme in RISER\, and it is reflected by the tone of the album\, which demonstrates a new artistic depth and an extra level of intensity for Bentley. It evolves from track to track\, exuding a range of emotions\, all the while impressing upon the listener that Bentley’s instinct for a hit is stronger than ever. Bentley made significant reconfigurations in his creative team to shake up his sonic texture without sacrificing his commercial drive. He re-enlisted executive producer Arturo Buenahora\, Jr.\, who worked on Bentley’s first two albums; and utilized producer Ross Copperman\, who co-wrote “Tip It On Back” for Bentley’s previous album Home. \n\n\n\nThe new atmosphere yielded the most focused and intense vocals of Bentley’s career. Some were recorded live with the band as the musicians laid down the tracks\, but others were captured in less-than-obvious locales. One track’s vocal was recorded on Bentley’s tour bus. Still others were cut at Copperman’s house with the producer literally at Bentley’s side\, pushing him to some of his most emotional\, and seasoned\, performances. \n\n\n\n“It’s not even really a studio\,” Bentley says of Copperman’s set-up. “It’s just kind of a corner of the house he’s taken over\, so there was a kind of intimacy to the vocal process. It was important to get out of the studio and sing in different places\, and to do it with other people in the room. That way\, you have an audience and you get a sense of what’s working\, what’s not working\, when it’s feeling good\, not feeling good. It brings a little more emotion and energy out of your voice.” \n\n\n\nSince making a life-altering drive with his father from Phoenix to Nashville when he was 19 years old\, Bentley has forged his own path in an industry built predominantly on formula. He has mixed elements of modern country\, classic country\, bluegrass and rock\, maintaining an unmistakable identity while constantly reinventing his sound. His album Home debuted at No. 1 and spawned three consecutive chart-topping hits\, marking 10 career No. 1 songs for Bentley as a singer and songwriter. His five previous studio albums have sold more than five million copies\, garnered 11 GRAMMY nominations and earned him an invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Mountain Grass UnitMountain Grass Unit\, from Birmingham\, Alabama\, is a young quartet redefining bluegrass with a fresh narrative. Comprised of Drury Anderson (mandolin\, vocals)\, Luke Black (guitar\, vocals)\, Josiah Nelson (fiddle\, vocals)\, and Sam Wilson (bass\, vocals)\, they blend tradition with bold exploration. Their journey began with a shared musical passion\, forming a sound that merges bluegrass with country\, jazz\, funk\, rock\, and metal influences. Their debut EP\, “Runnin’ From Trouble\,” released in 2024\, showcases their original music and inventive covers\, inspired by legends like Tony Rice and Billy Strings. \n\n\n\nRecorded at Nashville’s Hartland Studios\, and produced by Mike Harris (Old Crow Medicine Show)\, the EP captures their live energy. The leading single\, “Hey Mama\,” explores life’s transitions with inquisitive lyrics\, while “Cicada Song” and “Smugglin’” highlight their funk and traditional sides. \n\n\n\n2024 marked a turning point with performances at Renewal\, DelFest and WinterWondergrass\, broadening their audience and deepening their musical exploration. With plans for extensive touring\, festival sets\, and new music\, Mountain Grass Unit is ready to share their luminous sound with the world\, each performance a new chapter in their unfolding story. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Cole Goodwin24-year-old singer/songwriter Cole Goodwin has garnered attention for his strong\, textured voice paired with his meaningful writing and return to old-school Country sound. The Pooler\, Georgia\, native burst on the scene in 2023 with the release of his original\, self-produced EP Soon Enough. Cole has toured the Southeast playing honky tonks\, clubs and festivals\, as well as opening shows for artists including Zach Top and Billy Currington. Last year\, the up-and-coming artist released what are now fan-favorite songs including “When You Get Home\,” co-written with fellow Georgia Southern University alum Will Moseley\, and “Catchin’ On\,” written with songwriter Justin Dukes. Cole was voted Savannah’s Best Country Artist of 2023 and 2024\, as well as 2024’s Best Singer/Songwriter\, Best Local Concert\, and Best All-Around Musician. Recently signed to Big Machine Records\, more new music from Cole is expected throughout the summer as he crisscrosses the country opening on select dates of Luke Bryan’s Country Song Came On Tour.

SUMMARY:Matt Axton at Longstaff House
DESCRIPTION:Americana singer-songwriter Matt Axton performs live at Missoula’s Longstaff House 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm Monday\, July 20\n\n\n\n\n\nMatt Axton is a gifted singer/songwriter. \n\n\n\nGranted\, that’s a claim made by many artists that inhabit the world of Americana these days\, but in Matt’s case\, it’s more than a mere boast. \n\n\n\nThe ability to make music is firmly infused in his genes\, courtesy of a family history that implanted that ability in him early on. \n\n\n\nWhile he modestly describes his sound as a “humble slice of Americana\,” it’s clear that it possesses so much more. \n\n\n\nWith a style that encompasses country\, folk\, roots\, rock\, R&B\, and pure pop proficiency\, he defies easy categorization. \n\n\n\nWith a rich reservoir of original tunes — over 300 in fact — and three well received albums (Blue Sky Rain\, Matthew C. Axton and Badmoon)\,  he’s established himself as a prolific and proficient singer\, songwriter and guitarist\, both on his own and at the helm of his various ensembles. \n\n\n\nEven a small sampling of his musical output proves the point. \n\n\n\nHis “Blue Sky Rain” is both stirring and seductive\, an easy amble that belies  its description of the topsy turvy travails that accompany the entanglements of relationships. \n\n\n\n“Born of Chains” is flush with steadfast determination\, a rugged\, relentless bluesy-rocker that conveys clear conviction and a desire to overcome whatever obstacles are tossed in his way. \n\n\n\nOn the other hand\, “Everything” is an homage to romance\, desire and faithfulness shared with some upbeat bluegrass banter. \n\n\n\nHere again\, Matt demonstrates his remarkable fluidity and a decidedly affable attitude. \n\n\n\nNotably\, he also keeps good company. \n\n\n\nMatt has recorded original material with Steve Ferrone (drummer for Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers) and Hal Cragin (bassist for Iggy Pop)\, and shared sessions at the legendary East West Studios in Hollywood where Tom Petty recorded much of his work. \n\n\n\nThe songs include: “Last Search”\, a Southern rock-style anthem; “Born of Chains\,” which shares a  sparse and dark singer/songwriter vibe; the Americana style “What a Day”; the soulful strains of “Soul to Sell” and “The Big South”\, a blues groove reminiscent ZZ Top. \n\n\n\nHe has collaborated on projects such as “Abbey Road Reimaged – A Tribute to the Beatles” where Aaron Badgley of Spill Magazine called Axton’s cover of ‘Octopus’ Garden’ “pure genius.” \n\n\n\nAxton tours nationally playing large festivals and iconic institutions as well as opening up for acts like Midland\, Paul Cauthen\, Jim Lauderdale\, and Nikki Lane. \n\n\n\nThe verve and versatility underscore the fact that Matt is a master of many motifs. \n\n\n\n“Matt’s powerful songwriting and vocals\, along with his natural rapport with the audience\, was the highlight of the 4th of July celebration where we hired him to play for the 3\,500 people at Donner Lake\,” said Ben Martin\, executive director of the Tahoe Truckee School of Music and Tahoe Music Professionals booking service.

Additionally\, Davis was direct support for Luke on his 2024 Growin’ Up and Getting Old Tour and followed with his string of U.S. and international shows headlining his DAMN GOOD TIME TOUR in the fall of 2024. Davis kicked off his headlining Ain’t Enough Road Tour this fall – the nationwide tour included stops at iconic venues including The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles\, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison\, CO\, and Radio City Music Hall in New York City before wrapping up on Saturday\, October 25th in Estero\, FL at Hertz Arena. Born in Texas\, raised in Louisville\, Kentucky and educated in Tulsa\, Oklahoma and… Australia\, Nichols has lived a lot of life in her 23 years and channels her observations and experiences into her songs\, often infusing commentary on everything from society and small-town life to current cultural trends into her lyrics. \n\n\n\nNichols burst onto the scene with the online phenomenon “I Got a New One” and has been building a fan base and online presence of 1M+ with each release with original songs like “Trailer Treasure\,” “Bad Taste” and “Somebody Cooked Here” each of them delivered in a sweet drawl thats both relatable and disarming. Her sparky release\, “Mama” seamlessly blends a broad- minded cheekiness (reminiscent of Kacey Musgrave’s Same Trailer Different Park-era) with a Toby Keith brashness and has accumulated 8 million views online. It’s not just fans who are taking notice\, the astute wordsmith has piqued the interest of the industry landing on a slew of “artist to watch” lists including Amazon Music\, Pandora\, Country Now\, Taste of Country\, Women of Country\, Holler\, Entertainment Focus\, All Country News\, Country Minuteand more. Nichols also captured the attention of Kelly Clarkson who covered “I Got A New One” on her show and the buzz surrounding her performance and Elizabeth’s reaction catapulted the song to the No. 1 song on the Country iTunes chart for multiple weeks. \n\n\n\nShe released her debut EP\, Tough Love in June and has already followed it up with new release including “Sweet Cigarette\,” the gut-punching “Daughter\,” cheeky ditty “Little Birds” and even cheekier “Oh The Things Men Do.” Nichols is continuing to create new music while also hitting the pavement to perform live. Since putting law school on pause in January 2025\, she has performed on several bucket list worthy stages including the legendary Blue Bird Cafe\, The Grand Ole Opry\, CMA Fest\, Stagecoach\, Kentucky Derby and The Kelly Clarkson Show and supported artists like Little Big Town\, Russell Dickerson\, Wyatt Flores and more. The PULSE Records artist is signed to CAA for booking. For more information and to stay up to date\, follow along on Instagram\, TikTok\, Facebook and YouTube.
