As the Executive Director of Travelers’ Rest Connection for the last 11 years\, she has expanded programming and exhibits related to the Corps of Discovery\, the Séliš-QỈispé people\, and the natural history of the crossroads at Travelers’ Rest. Among Molly’s favorite jobs at Travelers’ Rest: leading field trips and selecting authors\, elders\, historians for the annual Winter Storytelling speaker series. Molly is grateful for partnerships with other agencies and organizations like Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks\, the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula\, the Lewis & Clark Trail Alliance\, and many others. Currently\, Molly serves as President of the Destination Missoula Board of Directors and is Vice Chair of the Montana250 Commission which is planning commemorative events for the semiquincentennial of the Declaration of Independence. She also served on the planning committee for Missoula’s 150th anniversary in 2015. Molly holds a bachelor of arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a master of public management from Carnegie Mellon University.Norman Rockwell’s “Four Freedoms” on display inside the Museum:    During his State of the Union address in 1941\, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt described his vision for extending American ideals throughout the world. Moving beyond simply winning the war against the Axis powers\, his speech discussed various rights and freedoms for all. His “Four Freedoms” proposed four essential human rights as universal freedoms that all people deserved during and after wartime.Inspired by FDR’s words\, American illustrator Norman Rockwell turned those abstract values into images of everyday American life. He illustrated the concepts of freedom using the experiences of his family\, neighbors\, and community. The images initially appeared on the covers of The Saturday Evening Post\, one of the country’s most popular magazines. Eventually they became the centerpiece of the Department of the Treasury’s campaign to raise funds for the war effort through war bonds. More than $133 million war bonds and stamps were sold. Four million prints of Rockwell’s “Four Freedoms” were made for schools and institutions. Two of the values\, the “Freedom of Speech” and the “Freedom of Worship\,” are found in the Bill of Rights of the U. S. Constitution. The “Freedom from Want” was inspired by the sacrifices and lack the American people felt during the Great Depression (1930s). The “Freedom from Fear” gave them something to hold onto after America’s entry into World War II. After the war\, all four were embedded in the Charter of the United Nations.85 years later\, we can appreciate the role the “Four Freedoms” illustrations had in inspiring the American people during a time of war. The values represented called for a commitment to democracy\, human rights\, and civic responsibility in a time of great sacrifice\, loss\, and trauma. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVisitors will enjoy a historic sawmill demo\, antique engine displays\, historical surveying\, craft vendors\, and community booths hosted by some of our favorite organizations.Donations help cover the cost of the event and support the activities of the Friends of the Historical Museum\, the Rocky Mountain Museum of Military History\, and Future Farmers of America.

SUMMARY:Philipsburg Summer Market on Broadway at Pocket Park
DESCRIPTION:Philipsburg’s Summer Market on Broadway returns to Pocket Park (next to The Sweet Palace) 11:00 am to 4:00 pm Sundays from June 14 to September 13\n\n\n\n\n\nWelcome to the 2026 Summer Market On Broadway! Our vendors and visitors made 2025 a great inaugural season at the Pocket Park\, and we have even more in store for 2026! \n\n\n\nFIrst\, we are stepping it up for music this year! We are bringing back 2025 favorites\, and adding some new artists to the mix! Expect music every week! If you have any musicians in mind for the market\, let us know! \n\n\n\nNext\, we need a place for people to relax and watch the show\, so we got a couple picnic tables located near the stage. This will give our visitors a place to take a load off\, eat their lunch or candy\, and watch our fantastic musicians each week! I think this will really add to the feel of the market! \n\n\n\nThis is a fun\, relaxed market with awesome foot traffic and a ton of tourists. We can’t wait to see everyone at the Market on Broadway!

SUMMARY:Susan Gibson at Longstaff House
DESCRIPTION:Critically acclaimed songwriter Susan Gibson performs live from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm Monday\, July 6 at Longstaff House in Missoula\n\n\n\n\n\nSusan Gibson knows all about blessings. \n\n\n\nRoundabout 28 years ago\, she wrote herself a wish that grew up and went off on its own to become one of the biggest country songs of all time. \n\n\n\nSmiling at its success from afar\, Gibson went on to happily live her own best life\, free to hit the open road with a van full of happy dogs and a heart full of songs to share with attentive audiences across the country — and all the room in the world to “make the big mistakes” that a wide-eyed dreamer kinda gal could ever ask for.  \n\n\n\nAll that said\, though\, Gibson is not a lives-in-la-la-land kinda dreamer. \n\n\n\nBlessed as she’s been\, the award-winning songwriter also knows all too well that in the real world\, sometimes there’s just no avoiding “the hard stuff.” \n\n\n\nMind\, not the kind she consciously swore off way back on Valentine’s Day\, 2010; after nine years of humble sobriety\, it’s easy enough\, relatively speaking\, for her to resist the temptation of a bottle of wine at a friend’s table or politely decline the occasional unasked-for drink sent to the stage by a fan. \n\n\n\nBut positive life choices and willpower alone offer no proof or protection against the kind of knock-you-on-your-butt shots that life itself can serve up on the regular. \n\n\n\nThe best you can do\, she’s learned\, is take each hit as it comes\, get back up again\, and try to find your wits and center of gravity before the next wallop lands. \n\n\n\nBecause as sure as hearts break\, van transmissions fail\, and loved ones (both two- and four-legged) pass on\, you can always count on another one coming.– Latest release: The Hard Stuff (Fall 2019)– Six studio albums and one live album released (see Discography)– Songwriter of CMA Single of the Year for “Wide Open Spaces” released by the Dixie Chicks– BMI Writer of the Year 1999– 2009 West Texas Music Hall of Fame: Entertainer of the Year– Touring nationally since 1999
