The Griz and Trailblazers are set to kick off at 1:00 pm inside Washington-Grizzly Stadium Saturday afternoon. This week’s game is Montana’s annual Military Appreciation Game as well as Band Day and the celebration of the incoming class to the Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame.Utah Tech comes to Missoula as Big Sky Conference debutants in 2026\, joining the league during the offseason out of the United Athletic Conference. But even though they Blazers are in the Big Sky family\, this matchup remains nonconference – previously scheduled as the back end of a multi-year home-and-home series. The Griz opened the series in St. George\, Utah\, in 2023\, and this game remained on the nonconference schedule after Tech transitioned to the Big Sky to help balance the open dates. \n\n\n\nMontana enters the game with a full head of steam after opening the year with a win in a battle against fellow Big Sky newcomers Southern Utah in a league game\, and a convincing non-con win over the Drake Bulldogs. The Griz will look to carry the momentum forward as they seek to get off to a 3-0 start for the fifth time in the last six seasons. \n\n\n\nUtah Tech\, meanwhile\, limps into Missoula after a pair of tough losses against top level competition to start the season\, hungry to get into the win column for the first time. \n\n\n\nThe Blazers are led by head coach Lance Anderson\, now in his third season in St. George. While this is the first time the Griz have faced an Anderson team\, the Montana staff has unique familiarity with his abilities as a coach. He and Grizzly head coach Bobby Kennedy were on staff together at Stanford from 2018-22 where Anderson served as the Cardinal defensive coordinator and interim head coach. \n\n\n\nThe former coworkers and old friends clash on opposite sidelines for the first time on Saturday\, with kickoff set for 1:00 pm. \n\n\n\nWATCH: The Grizzlies return to Montana Television Network/Scripps Sports stations around the state this week\, with the Utah Tech game available on basic cable\, satellite options\, free-to-air channels\, and online streaming. \n\n\n\nThis week’s game will be shown on “The Spot – MTN” around the state. “The Spot” is a new independent television network that serves as the secondary home of Big Sky Conference games and will carry specific UM games in specific markets. Inspired partially by explorers Lewis & Clark\, Price took a lengthy trip to the American West. “It was life-changing—a real journey on several levels. I have not been the same since\,” he says. “The ideas and inspiration from both the physical and internal journey propelled this project forward\, and it seemed to take on a life of its own.”

She has released five albums\, sold over five million records\, composed music for television\, and received two GRAMMY nominations. In 2019\, she published a memoir\, Horror Stories (Random House)\, which the LA Times called “a raw look at fame\, motherhood and aging with all the unbridled honesty of the songs that put the singer in the spotlight in the first place.” \n\n\n\nIn 2023\, Phair toured to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her widely-loved debut\, Exile in Guyville\, performing the record in its entirety at sold-out shows across the US. He even traded his big brother’s “Grand Funk Railroad” for a copy of Jimmy Dean’s “Big Bad John”\, and still has a scar to prove it! Around the age of 14\, a neighbor showed Wynn a few chords on an old guitar. Before long\, Wynn was playing on his own and writing his own songs. \n\n\n\nAfter years of performing in honkytonks & bars\, Wynn decided to make the move to Nashville. His first radio single was “Fit To Be Tied Down” by Sammy Kershaw. Since then Wynn has had many hits including three number ones…all three were nominated for “Song Of The Year” by the CMA or ACM and sometimes both. Wynn’s three number one songs are “Have You Forgotten” by Darryl Worley\, “Waitin’ On A Woman” by Brad Paisley\, and “I’m A Little More Country Than That” by Easton Corbin. In addition to his number ones\, Wynn has had songs recorded by artists such as Garth Brooks\, Cody Johnson\, Jon Pardi\, Trace Adkins\, Mark Chesnutt\, Willie Nelson\, Kellie Pickler\, Lee Ann Womack\, and many others. \n\n\n\nIn 2009\, Wynn received the Nashville Songwriters Association’s Songwriter of the Year Award. Ride with us over to the Missoula City Cemetery to enjoy an afternoon with Stories and Stones. Journey into days gone by as volunteers in period costume narrate life stories of individuals from Missoula’s past. This highly popular event is free\, but they very much appreciate donations to continue to sponsor this walking tour. We begin a bit further south than in prior years\, as Higgins will be busy setting up Sunday Streets (details below). We’ll ride up Higgins to check it out on our way but we expect parking to be at a premium near the XXXX’s. Next it’s up and over the railroad tracks on the Northside Pedestrian Bridge (alternate meet-up) before winding through the neighborhood to the cemetery. Stay there as long as you wish as there are numerous sites to visit. We’ll check on who want to ride back as a group and will make a time/place to gather for departure if we get split up. Afterwards you can explore Sunday Streets if interested. Be sure to bring your bike lock. This ride is approximately 3.2 miles one way\, eBike and skinny-tire friendly. For all our rides: don’t forget your helmet\, water\, sunscreen and bike light if necessary. If weather conditions exist where the ride would need to be cancelled (heat\, air quality\, thunderstorms)\, someone from WBM will be at the trailhead(s) to let you know.
