SUMMARY:Philipsburg Summer Market on Broadway at Pocket Park
DESCRIPTION:Philipsburg’s Summer Market on Broadway returns to Pocket Park (next to The Sweet Palace) 11:00 am to 4:00 pm Sundays from June 14 to September 13\n\n\n\n\n\nWelcome to the 2026 Summer Market On Broadway! Our vendors and visitors made 2025 a great inaugural season at the Pocket Park\, and we have even more in store for 2026! \n\n\n\nFIrst\, we are stepping it up for music this year! We are bringing back 2025 favorites\, and adding some new artists to the mix! Expect music every week! If you have any musicians in mind for the market\, let us know! \n\n\n\nNext\, we need a place for people to relax and watch the show\, so we got a couple picnic tables located near the stage. This will give our visitors a place to take a load off\, eat their lunch or candy\, and watch our fantastic musicians each week! I think this will really add to the feel of the market! \n\n\n\nThis is a fun\, relaxed market with awesome foot traffic and a ton of tourists. We can’t wait to see everyone at the Market on Broadway!

SUMMARY:UDash Free Clark Fork River Shuttles from UM to Sha-Ron and Milltown State Park
DESCRIPTION:Take advantage of UM’s FREE UDash River Shuttle Service to get to the Clark Fork River Access points in Missoula at Sha-Ron and Milltown State Park Thursdays through Sundays in late June and through July\n\n\n\n\n\nFREE River Shuttles Return to Missoula this June & July! The University of Montana will again operate its free river shuttle to popular points on the Clark Fork River. The UDASH River Shuttle will begin service Thursday\, June 25\, and run through Saturday\, July 26. \n\n\n\nSummer shuttle buses will run Thursdays through Sundays\, departing from Campus Drive near the UM Outdoor Program building between the Campus Recreation Center and Washington-Grizzly Stadium. The River Shuttle stops at Sha-Ron river access point and Milltown State Park. \n\n\n\nThursday and Friday departures are from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on the hour. Saturday and Sunday departures begin at 12 pm Noon and run until 4:00 pm on each hour. It’s recommended that passengers arrive at the bus stop 15 minutes before departure. \n\n\n\nRiver Shuttle riders also can enjoy free on-campus parking\, courtesy of UM Parking. UDASH staff will distribute parking passes before boarding on Thursdays and Fridays. No parking passes are needed on weekends. \n\n\n\n“Providing student-operated\, zero-fare river shuttles aligns with ASUM Transportation’s mission to provide safe\, sustainable and equitable transportation options to campus and the community\,” said Vickie Rectenwald\, UM director of the Associated Students of UM Transportation. \n\n\n\nPassengers must deflate all floatation devices and stow them under their bus seat or in their lap in an effort to maximize space. Stand-up paddle boards and extra-large equipment are not permitted on the bus. \n\n\n\nRiver recreators age 12 and older also are required to have a valid Montana conservation license\, which is required to access most state lands. Senior and youth licenses cost $4\, resident licenses cost $8 and nonresident licenses cost $10. More information  about the conservation license is available online.   \n\n\n\nRiver Ambassadors will welcome riders to the river and help educate recreators about how to safely and responsibly enjoy the Clark Fork. The Missoula River Ambassador Program is a collaboration between ASUM Transportation\, the Clark Fork Coalition\, the City of Missoula\, Missoula County\, the Missoula Conservation District and Montana Fish\, Wildlife and Parks. \n\n\n\n“We are grateful to all of our partners in the River Ambassador program\, and we are excited for another fun season of river recreation\,” Rectenwald said. \n\n\n\nSince 2021\, UDASH River Shuttles have averaged over 1\,700 trips each season\, Rectenwald said. Shuttle dates have been adjusted to account for earlier weather and river flow conditions\, and staff are predicting an increase in ridership for this summer. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPickup Point for UM UDash Free River Shuttle Service at the Outdoor Program HQ along Campus Drive outside the Fitness and Recreation Center\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUDash 2026 River Shuttle Pick-Ups and Drop-Off Locations at Sha-Ron and Milltown Clark Fork River Access points

SUMMARY:Pub Sing with Lake Missoula Old Time at Western Cider
DESCRIPTION:Join Lake Missoula Old Time for an a’capella community Pub Sing session at Western Cider from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm the 3rd Sunday each month\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin LMOT and Friends for a Pub Sing at our favorite local pub: Western Cider! This is a beginner-friendly collaborative singing gathering. \n\n\n\nPub Sing is a casual “singing jam” of sorts (not a performance!). A wide variety of songs are welcome\, but ones with catchy choruses\, call and response\, or that are generally “sing-along-able” work best. We take turns leading songs\, and everyone joins in on the chorus or other repeated parts. It’s also totally fine to just sing along! You don’t have to lead a song if you don’t want to. \n\n\n\nTraditional songs\, folk songs\, sea chanties\, etc. are all great genres to draw from. We sing a cappella\, so no instruments are needed. \n\n\n\nFeel free to bring print outs of lyrics to share 🙂We hope you’ll join us!

In 2012\, The Carpenter hit #4 on the Billboard 200\, followed by Magpie and the Dandelion in 2013\, which debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200. The 2017 documentary May It Last: A Portrait of The Avett Brothers (co-directed by Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio) chronicles the process of writing 2016’s True Sadness\, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Albums\, #1 on Rock Albums\, #3 on the Billboard 200\, and scored two Grammy nominations. The film was released theatrically and on HBO to rave reviews and is available on DVD/BluRay/VOD. In 2019\, the band released their tenth studio album Closer Than = Together featuring the single “High Steppin’” which reached #1 on the Americana Radio Singles Chart. The Third Gleam came out amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Americana/Folk Albums\, #1 Rock Albums\, #1 Vinyl Albums\, and the single “Victory” hit #1 on the Americana Radio Singles Chart. This year saw the release of The Avett Brothers\, an album that is as much untitled as it is self-titled: a collection of songs that revealed themselves naturally over time. Swept Away – a musical inspired by & featuring the music of The Avett Brothers – recently debuted on Broadway. The Avett Brothers have been inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame and have earned a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association. They are currently on tour throughout the U.S. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Shane Smith and The Saints“It ain’t black or white\, babe; it’s all the greys between\,” Shane Smith sings in “The Greys Between\,” the first single from Norther. On the surface\, it’s a cinematic love song about a relationship’s twists and turns\, punctuated by slide guitar\, Appalachian fiddle\, and sharp storytelling. Take a deeper listen to Shane Smith and the Saints’ fourth studio album\, though\, and those words also sound like the motto of a band that’s spent the past decade blurring the lines between genres. \n\n\n\nNorther is anything but monochromatic. Written and recorded during breaks in the band’s touring schedule\, the album captures Shane Smith and the Saints at their most colorful\, offering up a hard-hitting version of American roots music that’s influenced by country\, folk\, and roadhouse rock & roll. It’s a sound that’s been shaped by the road\, where the Saints spent the past decade on tour\, building a cult audience with each gig. Those years of raw\, redemptive performances are now paying off — not only with headlining concerts at bucket-list venues like Red Rocks Amphitheater (which the group sold out in 36 hours) and the Ryman Auditorium\, but also with an appearance on the hit TV show Yellowstone\, where the Saints premiered Norther‘s final track\, “Fire in the Ocean\,” with an onscreen performance. \n\n\n\n“If you spend 10 years playing dive bars and small clubs almost every single night\, and you go to the merch booth after every show and hang out with the fans until the staff literally kicks you out\, you get to turn those fans into friends\,” says Smith\, who grew up in Terrell\, Texas\, before launching his band in Austin. “That’s how we built this thing. We’ve done as many as 240 shows in a single year. We’ve worked so hard to get there\, and that hard work has created a beautiful\, meaningful audience.” \n\n\n\nBeautiful\, indeed. Named after the northern winds that blow across Texas during the winter\, Norther begins with the haunting “Book of Joe.” Bennett Brown’s fiddle gives the song plenty of orchestral atmosphere\, Dustin Schaefer’s electric guitar adds anthemic punch\, and Zach Stover’s percussion — which builds toward a pummeling finish\, locking in with Chase Satterwhite’s bass along the way — rolls like thunder. At the center of that sound is Smith’s voice: a husky baritone that’s been textured by countless gigs in smoky bars and loud dance halls. It’s a gorgeously raw instrument\, caught halfway between tender and tough\, and it’s there — somewhere in the middle — that the Saints shine their brightest. \n\n\n\n“When you’re in a band like ours\, everyone gets their turn to play their music in the van\,” Smith explains. “Bennett grew up listening to Appalachian and Celtic-inspired folk and bluegrass music\, and you can hear that in the way he plays fiddle. Dustin grew up loving classic rock. When I met my wife\, she introduced me to music like Arcade Fire\, Alberta Cross\, and First Aid Kit — bands that I’d categorize as cinematic folk or cinematic indie-rock — and that had a massive impact on my writing\, too. Everybody in this band has their own influences\, and we’ve spent years together\, letting our sound evolve into something really unique.” \n\n\n\nThat sound began evolving onstage. Thanks to early albums like 2013’s Coast and 2015’s Geronimo\, Shane Smith and the Saints became a popular act in Austin\, regularly cutting their teeth with marathon gigs at venues like The Stage On Sixth. “We’d do four-hour sets\, sometimes back-to-back\, meaning we’d be onstage for eight hours\,” Smith remembers. “It taught us to grow tighter as a band\, experiment with our sound\, and find our identity.” \n\n\n\nReleased in 2019\, Hail Mary introduced the band’s current lineup\, as well as a heavier sound that separated the Saints from other Texas acts. It wasn’t rock & roll. It wasn’t country\, either. It was everything that connected those genres\, glued together by the camaraderie of a road-tested band that built its audience the old-school way: by hitting the stage and winning over the crowd\, song after song\, night after night. \n\n\n\nNorther builds upon that singular sound while also highlighting the bandmates’ road-warrior chops. “We’d be on the road doing shows\, and there would be a 48-hour gap where we’d fly into Dallas and try to record everything we possibly could\, then fly right back to wherever the bus was\,” says Smith\, who tapped producer Beau Bedford to helm the album. “It was like that for the entirety of the recording process.” The result is an album that’s filled with all the electricity and eclecticism of the Saints’ live show. For the band’s country-loving fans\, there’s “1000 Wild Horses\,” which barrels forward at a rootsy gallop. For rock fans\, there’s “Fire in the Sky\,” which makes room for fiery fretwork and a massive chorus. For those looking to slow dance\, there’s “All the Way\,” a threadbare piano ballad captured live in the studio\, imperfections and all. “Norther has little bit of everything\,” Smith says proudly. “It’s not a one-sided album. It’s got every single element of what makes up our sound right now.” \n\n\n\nFor an independent band like Shane Smith and the Saints\, the work is never done. “It’s like you can’t help but feel like you’ve paid your dues to get to a certain spot\, but once you get there\, you realize you’re just starting to touch the surface of the bigger picture\,” Smith admits. “At the end of the day\, it still feels like we’re getting discovered. But maybe that’s what it’s all about.” Norther is the soundtrack to that discovery. It’s the sound of a band pushing its limits\, broadening its reach\, and expanding its audience.
