SUMMARY:Erik Koskinen & Martha Scanlan at Longstaff House
DESCRIPTION:Join Erik Koskinen and Martha Scanlan at Missoula’s Longstaff House for an unforgettable night of rock and folk from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm Wednesday\, July 1\n\n\n\n\n\nA fixture of the American roots scene\, Erik Koskinen has earned praise from Rolling Stone Country for his “authentic voice and vivid storytelling\,” while No Depression has called him “one of the best songwriters in the Midwest.”  \n\n\n\nHis music draws comparisons to artists like John Prine and Steve Earle\, yet his sound remains uniquely grounded in the landscapes and working-class stories of the Upper Midwest. \n\n\n\nCritics frequently point to the emotional honesty and craftsmanship of his writing-songs that feel lived-in\, reflective\, and deeply human. \n\n\n\nOn stage\, the Erik Koskinen Band brings those songs to life with muscular musicianship and a warm\, road-tested chemistry. \n\n\n\nThe result is a performance that moves easily between intimate storytelling and electrified roots rock\, creating a show that is both powerful and deeply personal. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSinger-songwriter Martha Scanlan\n\n\n\nMartha Scanlan is a ranch hand and singer-songwriter who is working to show the importance of preserving agricultural life and landscape through her highly original song project\, Tongue River Stories. \n\n\n\nShe grew up in the upper Midwest\, went to college in Montana\, then moved back to Tennessee to play old-time music. \n\n\n\nAfter playing music at a friend’s wedding on a family ranch in southeast Montana\, Martha couldn’t get the place out of her head and ended up moving to the ranch and working there. \n\n\n\nShe still tours the country as a professional folk singer.

Moving beyond simply winning the war against the Axis powers\, his speech discussed various rights and freedoms for all. His “Four Freedoms” proposed four essential human rights as universal freedoms that all people deserved during and after wartime.Inspired by FDR’s words\, American illustrator Norman Rockwell turned those abstract values into images of everyday American life. He illustrated the concepts of freedom using the experiences of his family\, neighbors\, and community. The images initially appeared on the covers of The Saturday Evening Post\, one of the country’s most popular magazines. Eventually they became the centerpiece of the Department of the Treasury’s campaign to raise funds for the war effort through war bonds. More than $133 million war bonds and stamps were sold. Four million prints of Rockwell’s “Four Freedoms” were made for schools and institutions. Two of the values\, the “Freedom of Speech” and the “Freedom of Worship\,” are found in the Bill of Rights of the U. S. Constitution. The “Freedom from Want” was inspired by the sacrifices and lack the American people felt during the Great Depression (1930s). The “Freedom from Fear” gave them something to hold onto after America’s entry into World War II. After the war\, all four were embedded in the Charter of the United Nations.85 years later\, we can appreciate the role the “Four Freedoms” illustrations had in inspiring the American people during a time of war. The values represented called for a commitment to democracy\, human rights\, and civic responsibility in a time of great sacrifice\, loss\, and trauma. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVisitors will enjoy a historic sawmill demo\, antique engine displays\, historical surveying\, craft vendors\, and community booths hosted by some of our favorite organizations.Donations help cover the cost of the event and support the activities of the Friends of the Historical Museum\, the Rocky Mountain Museum of Military History\, and Future Farmers of America.

SUMMARY:Fruition - Something More Tour 2026 w/ special guest Andy Dunnigan and The Coffis Brothers at The Wilma
DESCRIPTION:Logjam Presents welcomes Fruition for a live concert performance with special guest Andy Dunnigan and The Coffis Brothers at The Wilma in Downtown Missoula at 8:00 pm Thursday\, July 9\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors @ 7:00 pm \n\n\n\nLogjam Presents welcomes Fruition for a live concert performance with special guest Andy Dunnigan and The Coffis Brothers at The Wilma in Downtown Missoula at 8:00 pm Thursday\, July 9. \n\n\n\nTickets on sale at Logjam Presents Box Offices and online while supplies last. All tickets are general admission standing room only. All ages are welcome. \n\n\n\nTake a look at these tips to best prepare yourself for a smooth ticket buying experience. \n\n\n\nAdditional ticketing and venue information can be found here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWith more than 15 years together\, Fruition has built a devoted grassroots following through collaborative songwriting and signature stacked harmonies. What began as a busking string band has grown into a genre-spanning sound that blends folk\, rock\, soul\, and pop—while staying rooted in honest\, homegrown storytelling. \n\n\n\nIt’s been a while since their last Missoula appearance\, but past shows have been nothing short of unforgettable – known for intimate\, high-energy performances that truly connect (photos). \n\n\n\nFans can expect a dynamic live set featuring favorites like “Labor of Love\,” “The Meaning\,” and “Mountain Annie\,” along with newer material like their dual singles with John Craigie\, “Where It’s From” and “Hard To Make Money.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout FruitionFor nearly two decades\, Fruition have built their genre-bending version of American roots music around harmony — not just the vocal interplay of the band’s three songwriters\, but the deeper harmony created between five friends who’ve spent years on the road together. On their eighth album\, Something More\, those bonds grow into something more collaborative than ever before. \n\n\n\nProduced by Grammy winner Tucker Martine\, Something More finds Fruition stepping into an era defined as much by exploration as craft. Fueled by melody-driven songwriting\, analog tones\, and atmospheric textures\, the album expands the band’s melting pot of rock\, folk\, pop\, soul\, and Americana into something more expansive and fully realized. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMuch of the songwriting emerged from collaborative sessions between Jay Cobb Anderson\, Kellen Asebroek\, and Mimi Naja\, adding a shared perspective to songs rooted in reflection\, uncertainty\, acceptance\, and growth. “This record is us trusting each other more than we ever have — as humans and as musicians\,” says Anderson. “It’s the sound of us leaning into each other.” \n\n\n\nFrom the street corners of the Pacific Northwest to stages like Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Great American Music Hall\, Fruition have grown their career night by night and song by song. Something More feels like the next chapter: a collection of lessons absorbed\, trust deepened\, and a band fully embracing what they’ve become. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Coffis BrothersWith two songwriters\, six albums\, and more than a thousand shows under their belt\, The Coffis Brothers have earned their reputation as modern-day torchbearers of all-American rock & roll. It’s a sound caught halfway between amplified Americana\, acoustic folk\, roadhouse R&B\, and electrifying roots music\, crafted by a pair of California-born siblings who’ve been sharing the stage since childhood\, and the five piece band filled out by their childhood friend\, Kyle Poppen on lead guitar\, and the rhythm section of Aidan Collins (bass)\, and Cory Graves (drums). \n\n\n\nThat sound reaches a new peak with Kaw-fis Bruth-urs. The band’s third collaboration with Bay Area legend (and longtime Mother Hips frontman) Tim Bluhm\, who serves as the album’s producer\, Kaw-fis Bruth-urs finds Jamie and Kellen Coffis letting their guard down\, enjoying the creative ride as much as the destination itself. For every signature-sounding song like “Cut Right Through” — a heartland rock anthem built for highway drives and long horizons\, as sunny as the band’s Golden State homeland and as hook-driven as a Tom Petty classic — there’s another track that stretches the band’s sound into new territory. The result is The Coffis Brothers’ widest-ranging album yet\, running the gamut from bluesy\, blue-eyed soul (“Face the Music”) to jangling\, harmony-heavy power pop (“Do You Want To”).   \n\n\n\n“This is what we do\, and we’re giving ourselves license to evolve and get better at it\, too” says Jamie\, who was raised in the Santa Cruz Mountains of northern California alongside his mother — a children’s musician — and his younger brother. Decades after Jamie and Kellen made their stage debut alongside their mom\, singing three-part blood harmonies at a young age\, their musical bond has only grown stronger\, sharpened by hundreds of live shows as much as their shared DNA. “It’s the natural evolution of us performing together and spending so much of our lives together\,” Kellen adds. “We didn’t set out to make anything in one particular direction — we just wanted to make a batch of really great songs.”

Born in Turkey and raised in the U.S. from the age of three\, Tape B brings a distinctive sound that captivates with a blend of nostalgia and modernity\, termed “Old School x New School.” \n\n\n\nHis musical journey began at the University of Central Florida\, influenced by early 2000s hip-hop and electronic pioneers like UKF and The Glitch Mob. His career took a professional turn after a revelatory experience at the Lost Lands Music Festival in 2019. Tape B’s rise to prominence was fueled by viral SoundCloud mixes and dynamic live performances\, including his iconic “Yo\, Tape B” tag which has become a recognizable call throughout modern clubland and festivals. \n\n\n\nAchieving significant traction with remixes and original tracks\, including the standout “Trippy Land” with Mersiv and Juicy J\, “Gas Pedal Remix” with John Summit and Subtronics and “Ganja Tape” with Ganja White Night\, Tape B has redefined expectations within bass music. As of 2024\, Tape B achieved sellouts of every headline since December 2023\, including rapid ticket sales at Denver’s Mission Ballroom and New York’s Great Hall. His introduction of Tape B Block Parties in 2024\, as recently showcased across Texas with two sold-out events\, has brought classic and modern dubstep brilliance to the forefront\, further cementing his influence in the scene. \n\n\n\nWith plans for a debut album that encapsulates years of sonic exploration and a desire to influence the hip-hop scene more profoundly\, Tape B remains a vibrant and influential figure in electronic music. His commitment to innovation\, community\, and joy through music continues to drive his rapidly ascending career. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout LevityHailing from Chicago\, Levity is an electronic trio that captivates audiences with their multi-genre sound. Formed in 2019\, Levity has quickly become a global presence\, accumulating over 20 million streams and consistently appearing at major festivals and venues. Levity’s festival appearances include Electric Forest\, North Coast\, Summer Camp\, Lollapalooza (featuring a guest appearance by Chance The Rapper)\, EDC Las Vegas\, and DoLab at Coachella. \n\n\n\nAs they gearing up for a busy 2026\, Levity is set to embark on their breakout 2025/26 Lasership Tour\, playing sold-out shows at iconic venues such as The Shrine and The Eastern. SUMMARY:Pub Sing with Lake Missoula Old Time at Western Cider
DESCRIPTION:Join Lake Missoula Old Time for an a’capella community Pub Sing session at Western Cider from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm the 3rd Sunday each month\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin LMOT and Friends for a Pub Sing at our favorite local pub: Western Cider! This is a beginner-friendly collaborative singing gathering. \n\n\n\nPub Sing is a casual “singing jam” of sorts (not a performance!). A wide variety of songs are welcome\, but ones with catchy choruses\, call and response\, or that are generally “sing-along-able” work best. We take turns leading songs\, and everyone joins in on the chorus or other repeated parts. It’s also totally fine to just sing along! You don’t have to lead a song if you don’t want to. \n\n\n\nTraditional songs\, folk songs\, sea chanties\, etc. are all great genres to draw from. We sing a cappella\, so no instruments are needed. \n\n\n\nFeel free to bring print outs of lyrics to share 🙂We hope you’ll join us!

In 2012\, The Carpenter hit #4 on the Billboard 200\, followed by Magpie and the Dandelion in 2013\, which debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200. The 2017 documentary May It Last: A Portrait of The Avett Brothers (co-directed by Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio) chronicles the process of writing 2016’s True Sadness\, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Albums\, #1 on Rock Albums\, #3 on the Billboard 200\, and scored two Grammy nominations. The film was released theatrically and on HBO to rave reviews and is available on DVD/BluRay/VOD. In 2019\, the band released their tenth studio album Closer Than = Together featuring the single “High Steppin’” which reached #1 on the Americana Radio Singles Chart. The Third Gleam came out amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Americana/Folk Albums\, #1 Rock Albums\, #1 Vinyl Albums\, and the single “Victory” hit #1 on the Americana Radio Singles Chart. This year saw the release of The Avett Brothers\, an album that is as much untitled as it is self-titled: a collection of songs that revealed themselves naturally over time. Swept Away – a musical inspired by & featuring the music of The Avett Brothers – recently debuted on Broadway. The Avett Brothers have been inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame and have earned a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association. They are currently on tour throughout the U.S. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Shane Smith and The Saints“It ain’t black or white\, babe; it’s all the greys between\,” Shane Smith sings in “The Greys Between\,” the first single from Norther. On the surface\, it’s a cinematic love song about a relationship’s twists and turns\, punctuated by slide guitar\, Appalachian fiddle\, and sharp storytelling. Take a deeper listen to Shane Smith and the Saints’ fourth studio album\, though\, and those words also sound like the motto of a band that’s spent the past decade blurring the lines between genres. \n\n\n\nNorther is anything but monochromatic. Written and recorded during breaks in the band’s touring schedule\, the album captures Shane Smith and the Saints at their most colorful\, offering up a hard-hitting version of American roots music that’s influenced by country\, folk\, and roadhouse rock & roll. It’s a sound that’s been shaped by the road\, where the Saints spent the past decade on tour\, building a cult audience with each gig. Those years of raw\, redemptive performances are now paying off — not only with headlining concerts at bucket-list venues like Red Rocks Amphitheater (which the group sold out in 36 hours) and the Ryman Auditorium\, but also with an appearance on the hit TV show Yellowstone\, where the Saints premiered Norther‘s final track\, “Fire in the Ocean\,” with an onscreen performance. \n\n\n\n“If you spend 10 years playing dive bars and small clubs almost every single night\, and you go to the merch booth after every show and hang out with the fans until the staff literally kicks you out\, you get to turn those fans into friends\,” says Smith\, who grew up in Terrell\, Texas\, before launching his band in Austin. “That’s how we built this thing. We’ve done as many as 240 shows in a single year. We’ve worked so hard to get there\, and that hard work has created a beautiful\, meaningful audience.” \n\n\n\nBeautiful\, indeed. Named after the northern winds that blow across Texas during the winter\, Norther begins with the haunting “Book of Joe.” Bennett Brown’s fiddle gives the song plenty of orchestral atmosphere\, Dustin Schaefer’s electric guitar adds anthemic punch\, and Zach Stover’s percussion — which builds toward a pummeling finish\, locking in with Chase Satterwhite’s bass along the way — rolls like thunder. At the center of that sound is Smith’s voice: a husky baritone that’s been textured by countless gigs in smoky bars and loud dance halls. It’s a gorgeously raw instrument\, caught halfway between tender and tough\, and it’s there — somewhere in the middle — that the Saints shine their brightest. \n\n\n\n“When you’re in a band like ours\, everyone gets their turn to play their music in the van\,” Smith explains. “Bennett grew up listening to Appalachian and Celtic-inspired folk and bluegrass music\, and you can hear that in the way he plays fiddle. Dustin grew up loving classic rock. When I met my wife\, she introduced me to music like Arcade Fire\, Alberta Cross\, and First Aid Kit — bands that I’d categorize as cinematic folk or cinematic indie-rock — and that had a massive impact on my writing\, too. Everybody in this band has their own influences\, and we’ve spent years together\, letting our sound evolve into something really unique.” \n\n\n\nThat sound began evolving onstage. Thanks to early albums like 2013’s Coast and 2015’s Geronimo\, Shane Smith and the Saints became a popular act in Austin\, regularly cutting their teeth with marathon gigs at venues like The Stage On Sixth. “We’d do four-hour sets\, sometimes back-to-back\, meaning we’d be onstage for eight hours\,” Smith remembers. “It taught us to grow tighter as a band\, experiment with our sound\, and find our identity.” \n\n\n\nReleased in 2019\, Hail Mary introduced the band’s current lineup\, as well as a heavier sound that separated the Saints from other Texas acts. It wasn’t rock & roll. It wasn’t country\, either. It was everything that connected those genres\, glued together by the camaraderie of a road-tested band that built its audience the old-school way: by hitting the stage and winning over the crowd\, song after song\, night after night. \n\n\n\nNorther builds upon that singular sound while also highlighting the bandmates’ road-warrior chops. “We’d be on the road doing shows\, and there would be a 48-hour gap where we’d fly into Dallas and try to record everything we possibly could\, then fly right back to wherever the bus was\,” says Smith\, who tapped producer Beau Bedford to helm the album. “It was like that for the entirety of the recording process.” The result is an album that’s filled with all the electricity and eclecticism of the Saints’ live show. For the band’s country-loving fans\, there’s “1000 Wild Horses\,” which barrels forward at a rootsy gallop. For rock fans\, there’s “Fire in the Sky\,” which makes room for fiery fretwork and a massive chorus. For those looking to slow dance\, there’s “All the Way\,” a threadbare piano ballad captured live in the studio\, imperfections and all. “Norther has little bit of everything\,” Smith says proudly. “It’s not a one-sided album. It’s got every single element of what makes up our sound right now.” \n\n\n\nFor an independent band like Shane Smith and the Saints\, the work is never done. “It’s like you can’t help but feel like you’ve paid your dues to get to a certain spot\, but once you get there\, you realize you’re just starting to touch the surface of the bigger picture\,” Smith admits. “At the end of the day\, it still feels like we’re getting discovered. But maybe that’s what it’s all about.” Norther is the soundtrack to that discovery. It’s the sound of a band pushing its limits\, broadening its reach\, and expanding its audience.

SUMMARY:Matt Axton at Longstaff House
DESCRIPTION:Americana singer-songwriter Matt Axton performs live at Missoula’s Longstaff House 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm Monday\, July 20\n\n\n\n\n\nMatt Axton is a gifted singer/songwriter. \n\n\n\nGranted\, that’s a claim made by many artists that inhabit the world of Americana these days\, but in Matt’s case\, it’s more than a mere boast. \n\n\n\nThe ability to make music is firmly infused in his genes\, courtesy of a family history that implanted that ability in him early on. \n\n\n\nWhile he modestly describes his sound as a “humble slice of Americana\,” it’s clear that it possesses so much more. \n\n\n\nWith a style that encompasses country\, folk\, roots\, rock\, R&B\, and pure pop proficiency\, he defies easy categorization. \n\n\n\nWith a rich reservoir of original tunes — over 300 in fact — and three well received albums (Blue Sky Rain\, Matthew C. Axton and Badmoon)\,  he’s established himself as a prolific and proficient singer\, songwriter and guitarist\, both on his own and at the helm of his various ensembles. \n\n\n\nEven a small sampling of his musical output proves the point. \n\n\n\nHis “Blue Sky Rain” is both stirring and seductive\, an easy amble that belies  its description of the topsy turvy travails that accompany the entanglements of relationships. \n\n\n\n“Born of Chains” is flush with steadfast determination\, a rugged\, relentless bluesy-rocker that conveys clear conviction and a desire to overcome whatever obstacles are tossed in his way. \n\n\n\nOn the other hand\, “Everything” is an homage to romance\, desire and faithfulness shared with some upbeat bluegrass banter. \n\n\n\nHere again\, Matt demonstrates his remarkable fluidity and a decidedly affable attitude. \n\n\n\nNotably\, he also keeps good company. \n\n\n\nMatt has recorded original material with Steve Ferrone (drummer for Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers) and Hal Cragin (bassist for Iggy Pop)\, and shared sessions at the legendary East West Studios in Hollywood where Tom Petty recorded much of his work. \n\n\n\nThe songs include: “Last Search”\, a Southern rock-style anthem; “Born of Chains\,” which shares a  sparse and dark singer/songwriter vibe; the Americana style “What a Day”; the soulful strains of “Soul to Sell” and “The Big South”\, a blues groove reminiscent ZZ Top. \n\n\n\nHe has collaborated on projects such as “Abbey Road Reimaged – A Tribute to the Beatles” where Aaron Badgley of Spill Magazine called Axton’s cover of ‘Octopus’ Garden’ “pure genius.” \n\n\n\nAxton tours nationally playing large festivals and iconic institutions as well as opening up for acts like Midland\, Paul Cauthen\, Jim Lauderdale\, and Nikki Lane. \n\n\n\nThe verve and versatility underscore the fact that Matt is a master of many motifs. \n\n\n\n“Matt’s powerful songwriting and vocals\, along with his natural rapport with the audience\, was the highlight of the 4th of July celebration where we hired him to play for the 3\,500 people at Donner Lake\,” said Ben Martin\, executive director of the Tahoe Truckee School of Music and Tahoe Music Professionals booking service.
