(The Last Best Piece) piano program with the University of Montana School of Music at the Music Recital Hall on campus at 7:30 pm Friday\, October 17 and Saturday\, October 18\, with a smaller “Poco Pianissimo!” performance at 2:00 pm Sunday\, October 19\n\n\n\n\n\nThe piano faculty and students from the University of Montana School of Music present Pianissimo! on Friday\, October 17 and Saturday\, October 18 at 7:30 pm\, and a smaller version called Poco Pianissimo! on Sunday\, October 19 at 2:00 pm.  An exciting and exhilarating concert that features a wide variety of musical styles with multiple pianists playing multiple pianos\, Pianissimo! has grown into one of the most anticipated and beloved events in the School of Music\, drawing enthusiastic audiences every year.   \n\n\n\nThis year\, our theme is “The Last Best Piece” where we feature stellar arrangements for five pianos by Dr. Jeffrey Shumway\, a Montana resident and UM supporter who has donated these works to the School of Music Keyboard Division! One day he ventures outside\, declaring “If I picked a day to fly\, this would be it!” but is ridiculed by everyone except the lovely Esmerelda\, who pleads for mercy towards Quasimodo (“God Help the Outcasts”).
