SUMMARY:UM Griz Football Season Opener vs Southern Utah at Washington-Grizzly Stadium
DESCRIPTION:No. 2 ranked University of Montana Grizzlies host Big Sky Conference opponent Southern Utah inside Washington-Grizzly Stadium at 7:00 pm Saturday night\, August 29 in the first game under head coach Bobby Kennedy\n\n\n\n\n\nBy: Montana Sports Information \n\n\n\nThe dawn of a new era rises over Washington-Grizzly Stadium on Saturday as Bobby Kennedy leads Montana onto the field for the first time as UM’s 38th head football coach. \n\n\n\nComing off a 13-2 season and a trip to the semifinals in 2025\, expectations are (as usual) high in Missoula for the No. 2 Grizzlies under Kennedy\, and rightly so. With three candidates for national player of the year at marquee positions\, Montana has NFL-caliber talent on both sides of the ball. \n\n\n\nBut the Griz also have new faces all over the field and a new defensive scheme to operate under after an offseason of change. It tees up an intriguing mix of new and old\, with a robust eight returning all-conference players but at the same time the need to replace 33 lettermen and 21 starters. \n\n\n\nHere to challenge Kennedy’s Grizzlies in his first game is a new and old opponent in Southern Utah\, who won two Big Sky titles during their time in the league from 2012-2022. They return to the conference after time in the WAC and UAC and set up Montanan’s first season-opening conference game in 40 years. \n\n\n\nUM is 8-2 against SUU all time and beat the T-Birds in a 20-19 thriller in 2021. Montana’s last loss to SUU came during their first year in the Big Sky the first time around\, with the T-Birds winning 30-20 in Missoula back in 2012. \n\n\n\nKickoff from Washington-Grizzly Stadium is set for 7 p.m. \n\n\n\nWATCH: The Grizzlies return to Montana Television Network/Scripps Sports stations around the state this week\, with the Southern Utah matchup available on basic cable\, satellite options\, free-to-air channels\, and online streaming. \n\n\n\nThis week’s game will be shown on local CBS stations in Missoula\, Billings\, Great Falls and Helena\, and available on “The Spot – MTN” around the rest of the state. “The Spot” is a new independent television network that serves as the secondary home of Big Sky Conference games and will carry specific UM games in specific markets. This week’s game can also been seen on “The Spot” in Salt Lake City\, Boise\, Twin Falls\, Phoenix\, and on Local 3 in Denver. \n\n\n\nThe Spot is available around the state free-to-air for viewers with antennas in Billings (2.2)\, Butte/Bozeman (4.2/7.2)\, Great Falls (3.2)\, Helena (12.2) and Missoula (8.2). It is also available on Spectrum Cable\, Tongue River Cable\, TCT West Cable\, Montana Opticom\, Access Montana\, DIRECTV\, the DIRECTV streaming platform\, and FUBO TV. \n\n\n\nESPN+ will again serve as the primary streaming home of Montana Athletics this season. \n\n\n\nVeteran play-by-play announcer Trey Bender and former Grizzly All-American Jordan Tripp return to the broadcast booth this season. Kyle Hansen will report from the sidelines. For complete broadcast details visit GoGriz.com/WhereToWatch. \n\n\n\nLISTEN: “Voice of the Griz” Riley Corcoran is in his 11th season behind the mic at Montana and will once again bring you all the Grizzly action over the airwaves on the Grizzly Sports Radio Network and its sixteen affiliate stations around the state. \n\n\n\nJoining Corcoran in the booth this season is Chase Reynolds – a Montana native\, Grizzly Sports Hall of Famer\, five-year NFL veteran and one of the most decorated players in UM history – who brings his knowledge of the game to the airwaves as the Grizzlies’ new radio analyst. \n\n\n\n“Grizzly Gameday” starts two hours before kickoff each Saturday with the official pregame radio show featuring Ace Sauerwein and Denny Bedard before Corcoran and Reynolds take over 30 minutes to kickoff. \n\n\n\nGriz fans outside the radio footprint can stream all of Montana’s broadcasts on their mobile device LIVE and FREE of charge with the Varsity Network App\, powered by Learfield and Sidearm Sports. \n\n\n\n\n\nGrizTix Tickets LINK

SUMMARY:Big Sky Troubadours: Songwriters & The Symphony at O'Shaughnessy Cultural Arts Center
DESCRIPTION:Experience a one-of-a-kind collaboration with Songwriters & The Symphony as acclaimed Nashville songwriters Wynn Varble\, Brice Long\, and Jo Smith join select musicians from the Glacier Symphony for an unforgettable evening of songs\, stories\, and symphonic arrangements at 7:00 pm Thursday\, September 17 at O’Shaughnessy Cultural Center in Whitefish\n\n\n\n\n\nYou know the songs. Now hear them like never before. \n\n\n\nExperience a one-of-a-kind collaboration as acclaimed Nashville songwriters Wynn Varble\, Brice Long\, and Jo Smith join select musicians from the Glacier Symphony for an unforgettable evening of songs\, stories\, and symphonic arrangements. \n\n\n\nHear the hit songs behind some of country music’s biggest artists performed in an intimate setting\, elevated by the rich\, cinematic sound of a live orchestra. Throughout the evening\, the songwriters will share the inspiration\, humor\, and personal stories behind the music\, offering audiences a rare glimpse into the creative process that turns ideas into timeless songs. \n\n\n\nWynn Varble  \n\n\n\nWynn came to love country music at a very young age when he discovered his father’s collection of classic country vinyl records. He even traded his big brother’s “Grand Funk Railroad” for a copy of Jimmy Dean’s “Big Bad John”\, and still has a scar to prove it! Around the age of 14\, a neighbor showed Wynn a few chords on an old guitar. Before long\, Wynn was playing on his own and writing his own songs. \n\n\n\nAfter years of performing in honkytonks & bars\, Wynn decided to make the move to Nashville. His first radio single was “Fit To Be Tied Down” by Sammy Kershaw. Since then Wynn has had many hits including three number ones…all three were nominated for “Song Of The Year” by the CMA or ACM and sometimes both. Wynn’s three number one songs are “Have You Forgotten” by Darryl Worley\, “Waitin’ On A Woman” by Brad Paisley\, and “I’m A Little More Country Than That” by Easton Corbin. In addition to his number ones\, Wynn has had songs recorded by artists such as Garth Brooks\, Cody Johnson\, Jon Pardi\, Trace Adkins\, Mark Chesnutt\, Willie Nelson\, Kellie Pickler\, Lee Ann Womack\, and many others. \n\n\n\nIn 2009\, Wynn received the Nashville Songwriters Association’s Songwriter of the Year Award. He made his Grand Ole Opry Debut in 2011. Additionally\, Wynn has appeared on several tv shows and was featured weekly on the Joey & Rory Show for several years. Wynn writes songs nearly every day and tours extensively. He is currently signed with BMG Music Publishing. \n\n\n\nBrice Long \n\n\n\nBrice has enjoyed a successful 25+ year music career. As a songwriter he has had over 175 of his songs cut with artists such as Garth Brooks\, George Strait\, Chris Stapleton\, Hank Williams Jr\, Randy Houser\, Josh Turner\, Reba McEntire\, Gary Allan\, Cody Johnson\, Chris Young\, Jon Pardi\, Lainey Wilson\, Casey James\, Randy Travis\, John Michael Montgomery\, Porter Wagoner and many more.   \n\n\n\nBrice’s songwriting hits include the #1 singles “Heartache On The Dance Floor” by Jon Pardi and “Nothing On But The Radio” by Gary Allan. Randy Houser’s “Like a Cowboy”\,a song that also garnered Brice a CMA nomination for Song of the Year.  Other recent hits include Randy Houser’s debut single\, “Anything Goes”\, “Today” from Gary Allan\, Casey James’ “Let’s Don’t Call It A Night” and Jon Pardi’s\, “What I Can’t Put Down”. \n\n\n\nBrice Long is signed to Sony Music Publishing. He is a native of Hopkinsville\, KY. His music is available wherever digital music is streamed and sold. \n\n\n\nJo Smith \n\n\n\nJo Smith was named to Rolling Stone’s 10 New Artists You Need to Know in 2017 and CMT’s Next Women of Country 2018\, making her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2013\, and becoming a Highway Find on Sirius XM’s The Highway in 2017. Jo was the opening act on Blake Shelton’s All About Tonight Tour\, Chris Young and Thomas Rhett’s Liquid Neon Tour\, and Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley’s Locked and Reloaded Tour. After moving to Montana in 2020\, she released her first independent project Wyoming\, featuring Vince Gill on the title track. As “Wyoming” attests\, Jo has “been able to keep ahold of that traditional timeless thing that makes music last.” Her music possesses a timeless beauty that grows out of uncanny ability to tell stories that balance the emotional depths of traditional country and soul with a deep desire to deliver songs passionately to fans searching for songs that express universal feelings of longing\, loss\, hope\, and love.

SUMMARY:Cameron Whitcomb - Kingdom of Fear Tour with Nep & Liam St. John at The Wilma (SOLD OUT)
DESCRIPTION:Logjam Presents welcomes Cameron Whitcomb for a live (SOLD OUT) performance on his “Kingdom of Fear” 2026 Tour with special guests Nep and Liam St. John at The Wilma in Downtown Missoula at 8:00 pm Saturday\, October 10\n\n\n\n\n\nLogjam Presents welcomes Cameron Whitcomb for a live (SOLD OUT) performance on his “Kingdom of Fear” 2026 Tour with special guests Nep and Liam St. John at The Wilma in Downtown Missoula at 8:00 pm Saturday\, October 10. \n\n\n\nTickets are SOLD OUT. All ages are welcome. \n\n\n\nAdditional ticketing and venue information can be found here. \n\n\n\n\n\n*Cameron Whitcomb has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 from every ticket sold goes to Project Healthy Minds and their work to expand access to mental health services across America.* \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHailing from British Columbia\, Cameron Whitcomb has quickly emerged as one of the fastest-rising voices in country and folk-inspired music. After breaking through with his debut EP Quitter\, Whitcomb built a massive following through deeply personal songwriting\, gritty vocals\, and emotionally charged live performances. In just the past year\, he’s amassed hundreds of millions of streams\, landed on major Artist to Watch lists\, and headlined fast-selling tours across North America and Europe. \n\n\n\nFans can expect a powerful live show featuring standout tracks like “Quitter\,” “Medusa\,” and “Hundred Mile High\,” alongside newer material from his chart-topping debut album The Hard Way. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Cameron WhitcombIn a world that often prizes surface-level honesty\, Cameron Whitcomb is the rare artist with the courage to uncover his most uncomfortable truths. After leaving home at age 17 and getting a job on a pipeline\, the British Columbia native discovered his passion for singing and devoted himself to making music\, soon breaking through with his 2024 debut EP Quitter—a fearlessly candid collection of country/folk songs inspired by his journey in overcoming addiction. In a testament to the pure force of his storytelling\, the 22-year-old singer/songwriter has ascended to tremendous heights in the past year alone\, including headlining multiple tours across North America and Europe\, amassing over 600 million global catalog streams\, and landing on 2025 Artist to Watch lists from Spotify and Amazon Music—all before releasing a full-length project. On his debut album The Hard Way\, Whitcomb now shares his most powerful work yet: a selection of songs that willfully stare down his demons\, instilling every moment with equal parts grit and sensitivity and explosively poetic detail. The Hard Way debuted at #1 on the Canadian Country Albums chart\, establishing Whitcomb’s position as one of the leading voices in country music today. Upon release\, the album quickly surpassed 100 million on-demand streams nationwide\, achieving Certified Gold status in Canada. \n\n\n\nMade in close collaboration with producer Jack Riley (Knox\, Grace VanderWaal)\, The Hard Way includes Whitcomb’s chart-climbing singles “Medusa” and “Quitter” (nominated for Single Of The Year at the 2025 Canadian Country Music Awards where he won Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Fan’s Choice)\, both of which continue to rack up over a million streams weekly in the U.S. and two million streams weekly across the globe. Also featuring standouts like “Hundred Mile High” (a No. 33 hit on Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart)\, the 15-track album ricochets from stripped-back folk to rough-edged country to punk-leaning pop as Whitcomb offers a real-time glimpse into his inner world. While gearing up for The Hard Way’s arrival\, Whitcomb recently embarked on his I’ve Got Options Tour – a fast-selling North American headline run including a two-night stand at the historic Troubadour in Los Angeles. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNep is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter from Texas. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Liam St. JohnHis music blends Americana\, rock & roll\, and blues influences. St. John first gained recognition for his 2022 viral hit “Dipped in Bleach”\, an autobiographical song about his past cocaine addiction. He has since released two chart-topping albums\, stripped back (2022) and All the Bad Things (2023)\, both recorded in single takes and featuring St. John on vocals and guitar.
