SUMMARY:CelloGayageum live performance at Wachholz College Center
DESCRIPTION:East Meets West in Perfect Harmony with a live strings performance by CelloGayageum at Wachholz College Center on the FVCC campus in Kalispell 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday\, November 1\n\n\n\n\n\nWhere East Meets West in Perfect Harmony \n\n\n\nCelloGayageum is not just a duo – it’s a musical journey across continents\, cultures\, and centuries. \n\n\n\nFounded in 2016 by Austrian cellist Sol Daniel Kim and Korean gayageum virtuoso Dayoung Yoon\, CelloGayageum bridges the soulful depth of Western classical music with the mesmerizing elegance of Korean gug-ak (traditional music). Inspired by Berlin’s Pavilion of Unity\, this unique collaboration celebrates the beauty of connection – between instruments\, histories\, and people. \n\n\n\nWith original compositions rooted in Korean folk melodies and infused with global sensibilities\, CelloGayageum creates a sound that is at once ancient and refreshingly modern. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT DAYOUNG YOONDayoung Yoon is a gayageum (traditional Korean plucked zither with 12-strings) player and composer of the ensemble CelloGayageum. She graduated from Korean National Traditional Arts High School and received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Korea National University of Arts. Following her graduation\, she pursued solo activities in France\, Germany\, Italy\, and beyond. During her tenure as a gayageum instructor at the Berlin Korean Cultural Center\, she crossed paths with cellist Sol Daniel Kim and co-founded the ensemble CelloGayageum. Dayoung has garnered recognition for her contributions to the ensemble\, receiving awards such as the Soorim Cultural Prize (2018)\, Jeongdong Theater’s “Youthful Artist of the Year” (2020)\, Director of the Young Gugak Orchestra at Seoul Namsan Gugakdang (2021)\, and the first prize in the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation’s Youth Song (2021). \n\n\n\nABOUT SOL DANIEL KIMSol Daniel Kim is the cellist and composer of the ensemble CelloGayageum. Born in Vienna\, Austria\, he graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and has been active in Europe\, participating as the representative of Austria in ‘Eurovision Young Musicians’ and collaborating with numerous orchestras such as the Bavarian Symphony Orchestra. After meeting Dayoung Yoon in Berlin\, he co-founded the ensemble CelloGayageum and has since continued his endeavors as a full-fledged creative musician. \n\n\n\n\n\nEVENTS TICKETS and INFORMATION

SUMMARY:Johnathan Scales Fourchestra at Longstaff House
DESCRIPTION:Acclaimed steel pan band Johnathan Scales Fourchestra performs live at Missoula’s Longstaff House from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm Sunday\, November 1\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are getting a steel pan band at Longstaff House! \n\n\n\nThey will be in town for a concert at UM\, and will do a house show here.  \n\n\n\nRead the bio and listen to the Tiny Desk show with Bela Fleck – Bela will not accompany. \n\n\n\nJONATHAN SCALES FOURCHESTRA – BIO \n\n\n\nYou’ve heard this before\, but the whimsically named Jonathan Scales Fourchestra is really tough to describe. \n\n\n\nVeering from in-your-face\, jaw dropping chops and passion\, to those quiet moments when the background noise disappears and you hold your breath to take in a soundscape of solitude\, the power trio of electric bass (E’Lon JD)\, drums (Maison Guidry)\, and steel pans (Jonathan Scales) combines elements of jazz\, classical\, and progressive rock\, peppered with Latin rhythms and soulful outbursts of funk. \n\n\n\nFrom club and festival stages across North America and Europe\, and tours of Africa\, Southeast and Central Asia as a Cultural Ambassador for the US Department of State\, to their NPR Tiny Desk Concert featuring Béla Fleck\, the Fourchestra’s live shows make even the most jaded listeners forget where they are… even if just for a precious moment. \n\n\n\nThis may seem an odd thing to say\, but on the verge of releasing their eighth studio recording\, Jonathan Scales Fourchestra is only now truly embracing their identity as a group. \n\n\n\nFor many years\, Jonathan’s live band was a fluid lineup of top-notch musicians\, and even included an “all-star” version with bassist MonoNeon (Prince\, Nas)\, drummer Sput Searight (Snarky Puppy\, Snoop Dogg) and percussionist Weedie Braimah (Trombone Shorty\, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah)\, as well as a number of other marquee players. Now\, however\, the Fourchestra is a decidedly indivisible band\, and Jonathan is writing for the trio\, not just the pans.

All ages are welcome. \n\n\n\nTake a look at these tips to best prepare yourself for a smooth ticket buying experience. \n\n\n\nAdditional ticketing and venue information can be found here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTexas singer-songwriter Vincent Neil Emerson has become a respected voice in the modern country and Americana scene\, carrying on the tradition of Texas songwriters like Townes Van Zandt\, Guy Clark and Steve Earle while bringing his own deeply personal perspective to the music. His songs are direct\, honest and rooted in stories of life\, family\, heartbreak and the road. \n\n\n\nEmerson is touring in support of his latest album\, Blue Stars\, released in 2026. The album continues his tradition of deeply personal songwriting while drawing from the country\, folk and western sounds that have shaped his career. Fans can expect to hear new songs alongside some of Emerson’s best-known tracks\, including “Road Runner” and “25 & Wastin’ Time.” \n\n\n\nMontana fans have had the chance to catch Emerson on several stops through the state\, including a sold-out performance at the Top Hat in 2023 (photos). Don’t wait to get your tickets! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Vincent Neil EmersonSince his 2019 debut\, Emerson has made his contemporary mark on the tradition of American songwriting. His newest and fourth full-length album\, Blue Stars\, with longtime label La Honda Records\, visits all of the influences and moods of his previous releases. \n\n\n\nAfter his first album\, Fried Chicken & Evil Women\, Emerson built a reputation for live music\, finding his grass roots audience night after night. The loyalty among his audience can be attributed to his songwriting\, and the innate gift of experienced lyrics. His self-titled 2021 release\, as well as The Golden Crystal Kingdom in 2023\, further cemented that foundation\, drawing praise from the producers he worked with on each of those records\, Rodney Crowell\, and Shooter Jennings\, respectively. \n\n\n\nWith his fourth album\, Blue Stars\, Vincent brings together the distinct sound from all three of his previous releases. Produced by Patrick Lyons and recorded at Gnome Studios in Nashville\, TN\, the record benefits from Lyons’ deeply intuitive approach\, having been close friends with Vincent for many years. For Emerson\, it was important to capture the sound from the road as closely as possible\, enlisting his touring Red Horse Band to play on the album. \n\n\n\n“I’ve known Patrick for years and going into the studio with him felt like a big family kind of thing with my band.” \n\n\n\nBlue Stars features 13 original songs and is a testament to his songwriting prowess. Having dabbled across country\, folk\, and Americana music with his first three records\, Emerson brings all three of those genres together with his latest release. Lyrically\, these songs are rooted in his upbringing in East Texas\, life on the road\, and his deep family ties to Louisiana – three landscapes that continue to shape his perspective and inform his writing. \n\n\n\n“I was definitely thinking a lot about my childhood in Texas and the trips to Louisiana to visit my mother’s family there. A lot of the music I love comes from those areas\, and I think it’s important to have a sense of pride in where you come from.” \n\n\n\nBut sonically\, Blue Stars reaches wider. It brings together the hard country sound of his early work\, the stripped down intimacy of his self-titled record\, and the bold rock n’ roll of The Golden Crystal Kingdom. The result is a record that offers something for every listener who has followed his journey – while also serving as a perfect entry point for those just discovering his music. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Dax LindholmDax Lindholm provides true country\, folk\, and blues music straight from the South Dakota prairie. Raised by his grandparents after the death of his mother at age three\, he took on the form of an “Old Soul.” This is evident in his musical heroes\, which include Elvis Presley\, Roger Miller\, Hank Williams\, Bob Dylan\, and many more. After attending South Dakota State University\, where he played football\, he decided his true passion was writing and singing. A true-to-life cowpoke with real-life experiences in the western world has provided him with plenty of material to write. He’s traveled all across the country playing in small bars\, which he would describe as his favorite places to play. You can listen to all his music on every streaming platform\, with much more to come in the future.
