SUMMARY:Missoula North Hills Hike with Montana Dirt Girls
DESCRIPTION:Join the Montana Dirt Girls for a Tuesday Night Hike from Missoula’s Waterworks Trailhead up into the North Hills 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm December 16\n\n\n\n\n\nLet’s explore Missoula’s North Hills from the Waterworks Trailhead. We can do an easy 4-5 mile loop overlooking the Moon-Randolph Homestead. There are good options along the way for doing a shorter loop. \n\n\n\nWaterworks Trailhead – Trailhead Location \n\n\n\nTrail Map \n\n\n\nItems to bring:– Layers of clothing – Water                    – Snacks– Headlamp             – Bear spray     We have lots of folks coming in and out each week. Here are some good rules of thumb:* Try to get the group started soon after 6:00 pm* Do intros\, ask if we have any new folks and get a head count* Break into groups if needed & find someone to coordinate each group* You don’t have to be the fastest in the group to lead but just make sure we don’t leave someone behind* Have fun! \n\n\n\nNote: Friendly and well-behaved dogs are welcome to join us on hikes. If your pup can be aggressive or unpredictable around other dogs/people\, please leave them at home. If your dog isn’t under voice control\, please plan to leash them up for your hike. Also\, make sure you check if the area is open to dogs. There are several closures that start December 1 and some are yearlong. It’s also good to know the trail-specific leash protocol.

SUMMARY:FCS Playoffs Semifinal - UM Griz Football vs MSU Bobcats
DESCRIPTION:All of Montana holds its breath starting at 2:00 pm Saturday afternoon\, when UM Grizzly Football meets MSU in Bozeman to settle which team advances to the FCS National Football Championship game.  Every bar in Montana will have the game showing live on ABC – Go Griz!\n\n\n\n\n\nThere are no superlatives\, no metaphors and hardly any adjectives that can describe the magnitude of Montana’s football game this week.  \n\n\n\nSimply stated\, the No. 3 Griz get a rematch against the No. 2 Cats in the FCS semifinal for a chance to play for a national championship in the 125th meeting between two of the most bitter rivals in college football. Let that sink in. \n\n\n\nAs an added bonus it will all play out on national network television\, with ABC set to carry the game to millions of viewers. Good thing as well\, because the sold-out rivalry game rematch is currently the most expensive ticket in all of college football. \n\n\n\nMontana heads to Bozeman looking to avenge a regular season loss to MSU that was decided by the slimmest of margins. A tipped pass that resulted in a pick six and a missed field goal were the difference as the Cats escaped Missoula with a 31-28 win. \n\n\n\nSince that day the Griz took their only loss of the season\, Montana (13-1) has been on a tear\, cooking through the playoffs with 102 points in the last two games with decisive wins over a pair of Dakota schools traditionally as tough as they come in the FCS. \n\n\n\nThe Griz head over the divide with nothing to lose and everything to gain in a rematch of titanic proportions between the No 2 vs. No. 3 teams in the land that will see one team advance to Nashville\, and one team hang up the cleats for the year. \n\n\n\nKickoff from Bozeman is set for 2:00 pm.The winner of Saturday’s semifinal in Bozeman advances on the FCS National Championship and plays the winner of the Illinois State / No. 12 Villanova semifinal in Philadelphia. This year’s national championship is set for Jan. 5 at 5:30 pm (Mountain Time) and will be held in Nashville\, Tennessee at Vanderbilt’s newly renovated FirstBank Stadium.
