SUMMARY:Old 97's in the O'Shaughnessy Outdoor Amphitheater at Wachholz College Center
DESCRIPTION:Old 97’s make a stop on their 2026 Tour at O’Shaughnessy Outdoor Amphitheater in the Wachholz College Center on the FVCC campus in Kalispell at 7:30 pm Tuesday\, July 28\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors @ 6:30 pm \n\n\n\nWCC is pleased to welcome Old 97’s to the Flathead Valley. Old 97’s is an American alt-country band from Dallas\, formed in 1993. \n\n\n\nThe thirteenth studio album from Old 97’s\, American Primitive arose from what vocalist/guitarist Rhett Miller refers to as a “de-evolution” of the legendary Dallas-bred band. \n\n\n\n“As much as I want us to calm down and grow up\, the songs that felt right for this record were mostly big and loud and brutal and dirty\,” says Miller\, whose bandmates include bassist Murry Hammond\, guitarist Ken Bethea\, and drummer Philip Peeples. \n\n\n\nArriving just months before the 30th anniversary of Hitchhike to Rhome—a powerhouse debut that played a vital part in pioneering the alt-country genre—the result is a gloriously rowdy body of work\, revealing a veteran band more attuned than ever to the raw and reckless energy of truly timeless rock-and-roll. \n\n\n\nWith its title lifted from a bit of fictional art criticism in Stephen King’s psych-horror novel Duma Key\, American Primitive merges its unvarnished sound with the punchy yet poignant storytelling signature to Old 97’s\, radiating a rambunctious joy even as Miller’s lyrics contend with complex questions of love and mental illness and the routinely daunting state of the world. \n\n\n\nProduced by Tucker Martine (My Morning Jacket\, The Decemberists\, Neko Case) and featuring iconic guest musicians like Peter Buck of R.E.M. and Scott McCaughey of The Young Fresh Fellows and The Minus 5\, the album took shape in a series of deliberately whirlwind sessions at Flora Studio in Portland\, Oregon. \n\n\n\n“This was the first record we’ve ever done with zero pre-production\,” Miller points out. “It’s us working completely on instinct\, leaning on 30 years of playing together to come up with something on the fly rather than overthinking any of our choices.”

Beyond the five Grammy Awards\, the multi-platinum albums and sold-out tours\, the country/soul vocalist built on the Appalachian traditionalism that defined The Judds to create a world where Top 5 dance/club hits were as possible as being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Having practically grown up as America’s favorite musical daughter\, Wynonna matured into a woman who embraced how life is filled with peaks and valleys\, great thrills\, and heavy disappointment. Those realities informed her 5-times platinum Wynonna and nearing 3-times platinum Tell Me Why\, the albums that gave voice to every human being emerging into their own adulthood with joy in their heart. Beyond the groundbreaking music she and her mother created as The Judds\, Wynonna has grown into her once-in-a-generation vocal prowess with an ease that made people clamor to her. “No One Else On Earth\,” “Tell Me Why\,” “She Is His Only Need\,” “Girls With Guitars\,” and “I Saw The Light” set the next chapter in motion for the girl from Ashland\, Kentucky who became a global superstar. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Melissa Etheridge“I chose to survive\,” Melissa Etheridge sings on “Being Alive\,” the powerful\, exuberant opening song of the Academy Award and Grammy Award winning artist’s 17th studio album\, Rise. She then takes a pause\, the flurry of her guitar and her bandmates’ boisterous sounds fading out\, before she practically shouts\, with unbridled joy: “God I love being alive! “The words say so much. But in that pause — just a few seconds long — it’s as if she’s looking at everything that has happened in her life in the time since she last released an album of new material\, 2019’s The Medicine Show\, and with it everything that is to come on this remarkable\, emotional mosaic of songs. And it’s a lot. Co-produced by Etheridge and Shooter Jennings (whose production credits include Brandi Carlisle\, Tanya Tucker\, Charlie Crockett and\, of course\, his father Waylon Jennings) and featuring her sharp band of guitarist and keyboard player Max Hart\, drummer Eric Gardner and bassist Erik Kertes\, Rise soars as an intimate and richly realized collection. At turns it’s celebratory and playful\, as in the explosive “Don’t You Want a Woman” (picked as the official rally song of the Kansas City Current professional women’s soccer team) and “Tomboy” (reclaiming the term as a badge of pride)\, both punctuated by Etheridge’s hearty laugh. There’s “Matches\,” a frisky ode to the guitars that sparked her musical passion as a kid\, steeped in the spirit of childhood hero Johnny Cash. There’s the lusty honky-tonker “Davina\,” its singalong chorus sounding as if it could have been recorded in a raucous saloon. And there’s “If You Ever Leave Me\,” which starts with Etheridge cruising down Melrose in the ‘80s after first arriving in L.A.\, but goes on to glory in her marriage with Linda Wallem. “If you ever leave me\, I’m coming too\,” she sings\, with another burst of laughter. At others it’s contemplative\, most profoundly and movingly in “Call You\,” her deeply affecting account of living in the wake of the opioid death of her son\, Beckett\, in 2021. In it she looks deep in her soul and cherishes the strengthening embrace of family\, friends and community. This also filters through “The Other Side of Blue\,” a light-in-the-darkness anthem co-written and co-sung with Chris Stapleton. And at the end of the album she shines in the warmth of “More Love\,” written for and sung at her daughter Bailey’s wedding last fall. Ultimately\, it’s an album of acceptance and resilience.

SUMMARY:Dueling Pianos with Dustin Brayley & Ross Bridgeman at Second Story / 101 Central (SOLD OUT)
DESCRIPTION:Merie Productions presents Dueling Pianos with Dustin Brayley and Ross Bridgeman at Second Story / 101 Central in Whitefish 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm Wednesday\, July 29 (SOLD OUT); Friday\, August 21; and Thrusday\, September 17\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors @ 6:30 pm \n\n\n\nA high-octane\, request-driven live music party! \n\n\n\nYou asked for more! And you got it!Get ready for the most fun you can have on a night out in Whitefish. \n\n\n\nDueling Pianos at 101 Central’s Second Story is a high-octane\, request-driven live music party starring Dustin Brayley and Ross Bridgeman – two powerhouse performers battling (and blending) their way through the greatest hits of every era. Think part concert\, part comedy\, and 100% crowd-fueled from the first note to the last. \n\n\n\nThis isn’t a “sit back and watch” kind of show – you help write the setlist. The magic of dueling pianos is that it’s built around audience song requests\, sing-alongs\, clap-alongs\, and spontaneous moments that turn the entire room into one big chorus. \n\n\n\nSet inside the intimate\, elevated vibe of Second Story at 101 Central—a space designed to create memories where “old charm meets modern sophistication”—this is the ultimate date night\, friend night\, or “we deserve a night out” night. Come ready to laugh\, request your favorites\, and leave with your voice a little hoarse (in the best way). \n\n\n\nBring your crew. Bring your requests. And be warned: you may end up singing Sweet Caroline with a room full of strangers who suddenly feel like friends. \n\n\n\n\n\n(JULY 29 TICKETS are SOLD OUT)

On their sixth full-length album and Fearless Records debut\, Victory Garden\, Young the Giant reconnects with the core experience of 100% band collaboration\, writing and recording together as a unit in one room. Written largely during writing retreats in Idyllwild and Joshua Tree and produced by Brendan O’Brien (Springsteen\, Pearl Jam\, Soundgarden) at Henson Studios in Hollywood\, Victory Garden is a cohesive album experience that both inspires and enthralls. Lyrically\, the album is rooted in radical empathy\, showcasing the band’s songwriting instincts at its most immediate and heartfelt. Musically\, Victory Garden showcases the seasoned artist’s collective performances at their intuitive height. The result is a prolific record that beckons a new season of creative fertility for the band and presents Young the Giant as confident\, refined\, and fully inhabiting its voice. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Cold War KidsThe epic tale of Cold War Kids has long been defined by deeply personal songcraft\, enthusiastic experimentation\, and an avowed commitment to forward motion. Over nearly two decades\, the California indie-rock outfit has grown from gritty Long Beach beginnings into one of modern rock’s most enduring bands — amassing over 1 billion streams across their catalog and earning a devoted global fanbase through alternative radio hits\, critically praised albums\, and electrifying live performances. \n\n\n\nAcross ten studio albums and numerous EPs\, Cold War Kids have left an undeniable mark on the contemporary music landscape. Their 2015 Platinum single “First” remains one of the most played tracks at alternative radio over the past decade\, and they continue to blend sincere storytelling with captivating instrumentation. \n\n\n\nIn 2023 the band released their self-titled 10th LP\, Cold War Kids — a work that reflects both their roots and ongoing evolution. The album features standout singles like “Double Life\,” “Run Away With Me\,” and “Heaven in Your Hands.” 2025 saw the release of an emotionally charged tribute to the band’s longtime friend\, Richard Swift\, titled “Any Day Now.” In 2026 the band will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Robbers & Cowards which will come with touring across North America and the rest of the world. \n\n\n\nThe current lineup — Nathan Willett (vocals\, piano\, guitar)\, Matt Maust (bass)\, David Quon (guitar\, backing vocals)\, Matthew Schwartz (keys\, backing vocals\, guitar\, percussion)\, and Joe Plummer (drums\, percussion) — coalesced in 2016 and continues to maintain a vibrant presence both in the studio and on stages around the world. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLittle Image
