Joy\, 2020’s Rearrange Us\, and 2022’s Orange Blood)\, the five-piece reached new heights in 2024\, selling out New York’s Madison Square Garden\, The Greek Theater in Los Angeles\, Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheater\, and more; their 70-date North American and European headline tour also sold more than 180\,000 tickets. Mt. Joy’s momentum stemmed from years of hard work cultivating an unforgettable stage presence and their laser focus on organic growth. \n\n\n\nIn 2025\, Mt. Joy continued their ascent with the release of their fourth EP\, Hope We Have Fun\, on May 30\, and their wildly successful North American tour of the same name. The Hope We Have Fun tour saw the band reach new milestones\, with sold out shows at Boston’s TD Garden\, Forest Hills Stadium in New York\, a record breaking performance at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Denver\, and festival stops at Governor’s Ball and Rhode Island’s Newport Folk Festival. \n\n\n\nFor Quinn\, the record speaks directly to the band’s long journey together — “We’ve all worked incredibly hard together and done ridiculous things in sickness and in health. The album is a realization that we pushed ourselves into this crazy world\, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. It’s a lot about sticking together in relationships\, living a crazy lifestyle and just kinda saying\, ‘I hope we have fun.’” The album’s thirteen tracks explore the high\, lows\, and intimate moments of a life lived on the road\, with Quinn’s soulful vocals floating over intricate\, rootsy instrumentals. \n\n\n\nStart with the album’s lead single\, “Highway Queen” (also out now as a duet with Grammy-winner Maren Morris). In the sparkling\, acoustic guitar-driven track\, Quinn ruminates on falling for a twin flame who lives for the escapism of transient life\, too. “It’s a song about seeing how you deal with things in someone else\,” he says. “Which is really comforting\, but it’s also an opportunity to be introspective and helpful to each other.” \n\n\n\n“God Loves Weirdos” dives deeper into life on the road\, after the stage lights go out. “You pull into the gas station and those are your date nights — goofing around at a truck stop\, looking at all the funny T-shirts\,” Quinn says of the track. “Maybe the road is pulling you apart\, but then you have those moments where you’re laughing and thinking\, ‘This is so fun. I love this person.’” \n\n\n\n“More More More\,” on the other hand\, deals with what happens when you do come home — the depression that creeps in when the world goes quiet. As the track builds to a crescendo\, Quinn breaks his own cycle\, howling “I got all I want” — a chill-inducing moment of catharsis. \n\n\n\nBut it wouldn’t be a Mt. Joy record without a party\, too. There’s the unapologetically grooving “She Wants to Go Dancing” written for a lover who brings you out of your shell at the club\, and “Coyote\,” an ode to Quinn’s bandmates sticking together that could easily soundtrack a rager on a tour bus. Two dynamic collaborations round out the record with features soon to be announced. \n\n\n\nTo date\, Mt. Joy has garnered over one billion global streams and has sold more than half a million tickets\, with the singles “Silver Lining\,” “Jenny Jenkins\,” “Lemon Tree\,” “Strangers\,” “Highway Queen\,” and “She Wants to Go Dancing” all charting in the Top 5 on AAA radio. After 20 years as a cult favorite\, she broke through to the top in the early 90s with her GRAMMY-award-winning albums\, Nick of Time and Luck of the Draw\, which featured hits\, “Something To Talk About” and “I Can’t Make You Love Me” among others. The thirteen-time GRAMMY winner was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 and Rolling Stone named the slide guitar ace one of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” and one of the “100 Greatest Singers of All Time.” \n\n\n\nThe past few years have been very busy for Raitt. In 2022\, Raitt embarked on a 75-date headlining U.S. tour; released her critically acclaimed 21st album ‘Just Like That…\,’ (the third release on her independent label\, Redwing Records) which was #1 on six Billboard charts the week of release and was perched at #1 on the Americana Radio Album Chart for ten consecutive weeks. The album’s first single\, “Made Up Mind” remained in the top three spots on the Americana Radio Singles Chart for 17 weeks. Raitt also received the Icon Award at Billboard Women In Music Awards\, the was recognized by the Recording Academy with a Lifetime Achievement Award and she saw her breakthrough album\, ‘Nick of Time’ added to the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry. \n\n\n\nThe momentum rolled into 2023 with Raitt earning three GRAMMY™ Awards at the 65 th Annual ceremony; Song Of The Year and Best American Roots Song for the title track of her most recent album “Just Like That…”\, and Best Americana Performance for “Made Up Mind.” She then embarked on a busy year of touring not just in the U.S. but with stops in Australia\, Canada\, Ireland\, and the UK. In 2024\, Raitt returned to the U.S. and performed over 60 shows spanning coast to coast\, and as the year came to a close\, Raitt received another incredible accolade being recognized for her lifetime of artistic achievement as part of the Kennedy Center’s 47th Class of Honorees in Washington\, DC. 2025 saw Raitt and her band play another 60+ concerts together to audiences across the US\, Ireland\, the UK and Europe. \n\n\n\nRaitt is as known for her lifelong commitment to social activism as she is for her music\, and has long been involved with the environmental movement\, performing concerts around oil\, nuclear power\, mining\, water\, and forest protection since the mid-‘70s. She was a founding member of MUSE (Musicians United for Safe Energy)\, which produced the historic concerts\, album and film NO NUKES (1979\,) as well as a founding member of The Rhythm and Blues Foundation\, which works for royalty reform and recognition of generations of pioneer R&B artists. She continues to work on safe energy issues in addition to environmental protection\, social justice\, Native American and human rights\, as well as artist’s rights and music education. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Jon Cleary \n\n\n\nAfter thirty-five years of being at the forefront of the ever-evolving musical landscape of New Orleans\, two-time Grammy award winner Jon Cleary decided to bring that sound back home\, both figuratively and literally. He assembled his Absolute Monster Gentlemen (his acclaimed all-star big band) in his home studio in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans\, drew up a setlist of some of his most beloved songs– and some new favorites– and rolled tape. \n\n\n\n“We set out to capture that sound in the old-fashioned way: everybody in the room\, playing together\,” Cleary explains. \n\n\n\nThe result is The Bywater Sessions\, a musical tour-de-force that showcases the grit\, funk and joy that’s packed concert halls from New Orleans to Tokyo and beyond. Co-produced by Cleary and John Porter (Roxy Music\, The Smiths\, Taj Mahal)\, it’s a stunning collection of performances that affirms Cleary’s place in the New Orleans musical vanguard. \n\n\n\n“There’s a lot to be said for the ‘lean and mean’ sound of a piano trio\, stripped down to basics\, simple and direct\,” Cleary says. “But recently\, I’ve been experimenting with different combinations; adding horns\, guitar\, percussion and even another keyboard player. This expanded line-up has allowed the arrangements to blossom in new directions.” \n\n\n\nAs for the musicians\, it’s the best of the best. Long time Monster Gentlemen Cornell Williams and A.J. Hall anchor the band on bass and drums\, respectively. They are joined by Nigel Hall (Lettuce) on Hammond organ\, Pedro Segundo (Ronnie Scott’s All Stars) on percussion\, Xavier Lynn (MonoNeon\, Ledisi) on guitar\, and an all-star horn section of Aaron Narcisse (Delfeayo Marsalis & the Uptown Jazz Orchestra)\, Charlie Halloran (Squirrel Nut Zippers\, Preservation Hall All Stars) and Jason Mingledorff (Galactic). \n\n\n\n“Sophisticated\, nasty\, good-time\, low-down funk is the folk music of New Orleans\,” Cleary says. “Everyone playing on this recording is a New Orleanian by birth or by choice\, having learned their craft at the feet of the masters who in turn were taught by the old lions in their day – it’s a tradition stretching back over two hundred years. The roots go deep\, but each generation\, growing up with street parades and second-lines\, absorbs the old and introduces the new\, gently coaxing the essential essence into and out of each succeeding decade.” \n\n\n\nIt’s an apt description of Cleary’s career thus far. Born in London and on a plane to New Orleans before he turned twenty years old\, he grew up absorbed by the sounds and rhythms of the Crescent City. His mastery of the city’s music landed him gigs playing as a session musician in the bands of local legends Earl King\, Johnny Adams\, Walter ‘Wolfman’ Washington\, Snooks Eaglin\, Ernie K-Doe\, Jessie Hill– and as a guitarist for Dr. John. He later toured extensively with icons like Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal. His solo career began in earnest in 1989 and includes beloved records like their self-titled band debut and his 2015 Grammy winner\, Go-Go Juice. \n\n\n\nIn fact\, his first job in New Orleans was as a painter at beloved local club the Maple Leaf Bar\, and it wasn’t long until he was playing piano in that very room. To this day\, he and his band continue to pack that room to crowds that gather from around the world\, playing their unique and ever-evolving take on New Orleans funk and R&B. \n\n\n\n“These grooves are not museum pieces\, they are alive\, breathing and fresh – and that’s why joints like Tipitina’s\, The Maple Leaf Bar and Chickie Wah Wah are always packed when the locals\, young and old\, come out to hear the Gentlemen do they thang\,” Cleary proudly adds. \n\n\n\nOn The Bywater Sessions\, the band that Rolling Stone’s David Fricke called “as broad\, deep and rolling as the Mississippi river” is finally captured as intended– live\, in the room and as funky as ever. And with that comes an invitation from Cleary himself: \n\n\n\n“Close your eyes\, imagine you’re in the room with us\, me and the band\, Mike Dorsey the engineer\, John Porter the producer and Reed the manager.
