DESCRIPTION:MCT presents performances of the celebrated children’s book Stellaluna as a part of their Youth Series at Missoula Children’s Theatre at 12:00 pm Noon and 2:00 pm on Saturday\, September 19\n\n\n\n\n\nStellaluna\, the celebrated children’s book\, is coming alive on the MCT stage with music\, puppets\, tap dancing\, and so much more!  \n\n\n\nStellaluna tells the story of a baby fruit bat who gets separated from her mother and is adopted by a family of birds.  \n\n\n\nStellaluna finds that she is quite different from her feathered siblings; she sleeps upside down\, she doesn’t care much for eating insects\, and she flies at night.  \n\n\n\nNo matter! The story begins with Alice and her older sister Margaret reading together. Margaret becomes frustrated as Alice is curious about absolutely everything. Suddenly\, a White Rabbit appears from nowhere. After a quick and nonsensical conversation\, Alice follows the rabbit to a strange and wonderful place. In the course of her adventures\, Alice meets a band of Flowers\, the King and Queen of Hearts\, the Knave and the rest of the suit of Cards\, a giant Caterpillar\, a Fish\, a Frog\, the Duchess\, the Cook\, the Cheshire Cat\, the Gryphon\, the Mock Turtle\, a group of singing Lobsters\, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum\, the March Hare\, the Mad Hatter\, the Dormouse and Humpty Dumpty. Through it all\, Alice grows “curiouser and curiouser” as to where she is and even who she is. In the end\, the answers she seeks are unimportant. Wonderland is all nonsense\, anyway. Back by popular demand\, the music by Sweden’s pop group ABBA and the unlikely story created from it will rock Missoula once again. Days before her wedding on a luscious Greek island\, Sophie is determined to learn the identify of her father. Sophie’s mother Donna has never revealed the details of the fateful summer when Sophie was conceived (“Honey Honey”). Sophie sends three wedding invitations to the likely fathers and when three accept\, Donna begins to reminisce about her past with the suitors (“Knowing Me\, Knowing You”). Sophie hopes for a future with her dad (“Thank You for The Music”)\, and the guests on the island\, well……they sing\, of course (“Dancing Queen”).
