Hold on to my hand\, even when I have gone away from you.” – Traditional Pueblo Blessing \n\n\n\nFeaturing work by Monica Gilles-BringsYellow\, Marita Growing Thunder\, Faith Price\, Tasheena Wolfchief\, Alishon Kelly\, and the traveling exhibition “Indian Country In A Glimpse” by photographers from the Flathead Nation (Amaru Bennet\, Jason Songers\, Katie Medicine Bull\, Sara Scott\,Ricardo Costilla\, Kresta Wickum) each artist brings their own vision of the joys and beauties of their everyday existence. This month we proudly present the special group exhibition Raiz y Rama” (Root and Branch)\, guest curated by local Latina artist Krissy Ramirez\, and meant to coincide with Día de los Muertos. \n\n\n\n“Raiz y Rama” will highlight universal themes of life and death\, and how traditions of Día de los Muertos have transcended through geographical boundaries. From ruminations on the strength of the human spirit where hope\, healing\, and the freedom that follows can shatter boundaries\, to the ceramic recreation of favorite cultural dishes that bring loved ones together\, to communications with the spirit realm\, this exhibit will display a variety of viewpoints on the beloved cultural holiday as well as what makes us all human despite differences. \n\n\n\nThe exhibit will feature seventeen local and national Latine artists in a variety of media. DESCRIPTION:The Confluence Center in Downtown Missoiula presents the 3rd Annual Traditional Día de los Muertos celebration honoring Latin American traditions and community from 12:00 pm Noon to 8:00 pm Saturday\, November 1 and 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm Sunday\, November 2\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Confluence Center (Western Montana’s Home for Nonprofit Events) is thrilled to present our 3rd Annual Traditional Día de los Muertos! We invite you to join us for a multi-day celebration honoring the Latin American tradition and enjoying this time with our community. \n\n\n\nSaturday\, November 1st – Community Ofrendas• 12:00 pm Noon – 8:00 pm: Community Ofrendas and MemorabiliaCommunity members are welcome to bring 5×7 or smaller sized photos\, memorabilia\, and ofrendas to place on the altar. DESCRIPTION:Torrents presents a magical evening of art and community at The Confluence Center in Downtown Missoula featuring “Spellbound”\, a group exhibition/fundraiser for local artist studio VonCommon from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on First Friday\, September 5\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Confluence Center (Western Montana’s Home for Nonprofit Events) art program Torrents is thrilled to present a magical evening of art and community! This month we proudly present the group exhibition/fundraiser Spellbound for our favorite local Artist Studios: VonCommon. \n\n\n\nVonCommon is a nonprofit communal art studio that has been helping artists create art and community since 2010. VonCommon is thrilled to present their annual fundraising exhibition: Spellbound\, a celebration of the enchanting interplay between language and art. \n\n\n\nWords hold power. They conjure worlds\, weave illusions\, and cast spells of imagination. Spellbound invites artists to explore the captivating realms where text and image intertwine\, where the written word becomes a visual incantation. See works by:Jessie Smith\, UmamiMami Creations\, Thread Parade\, Michelle Angelique Ernst\, Lark Sanders\, Lauren Grove\, The Magician\, Dianne & Nick Beesley\, Lady Pajama\, Huckleberry Hen\, Julee Hall\, Grace Wolcott\, Amy Doty\, Korey Bell\, Kaitlynn Webster\, Dagny Walton\, Isabelle Hoecherl\, and Morgan Grau. \n\n\n\nThe exhibit opening on First Friday\, September 5 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm will include live music by John Floridis & Jennifer Slayden\, plus free snacks and drinks. Stay after and come out back behind the Center for further fun at VonCommon’s Alphabet Block Party\, 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm!
