While his absence will be deeply felt\, the band is dedicated to honoring his memory by bringing the timeless music of Pink Floyd to the stage with the passion and artistry that Joe himself embodied. \n\n\n\n“Wish You Were Here\,” released in 1975\, holds a significant place in Pink Floyd’s history as the follow-up to their groundbreaking album\, “The Dark Side of the Moon.” More than just a successor\, “Wish You Were Here” served as a poignant tribute to the band’s founding member\, Syd Barrett\, whose struggles with mental health led to his departure. They eventually found themselves in Boone\, North Carolina where they caught the attention of folk icon Doc Watson while playing in front of a pharmacy. He invited the band to play at his festival\, MerleFest\, and the rest is history. \n\n\n\nIt’s been over twenty years since these humble beginnings. The band has gone on to receive the honor of being inducted as members of the Grand Ole Opry and have won two Grammy Awards: “Best Folk Album” for Remedy (2014) and “Best Long Form Music Video” for Big Easy Express (2013). Additionally\, their classic single\, Wagon Wheel \, received the RIAA’s Double-Platinum certification in 2019 for selling over 2\,000\,000 copies while the band’s debut album O.C.M.S. has been certified Gold (500\,000 copies). The band’s latest Grammy nominated album Jubilee (Aug 2023) released via ATO Records. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOpening the show is MEELS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeels discovered her voice among the towering redwoods of her native California. Her music\, a fusion of small-town charm and the grandeur of nature\, traces her journey from the woods to NYU’s Clive Davis Institute in New York City to Los Angeles\, where she now resides with her dachshund\, Baltimore. Establishing herself as a fresh voice in Americana\, she released her debut album\, Tales from a Bird’s Bedroom\, in June 2024\, with her sophomore record “Across The Raccoon Strait” set for release this year. Rooted in nostalgia\, nature\, and intricate human connections\, Meels’ songwriting transforms melodies into stories and confessions. DESCRIPTION:The annual Great Bear Festival community fundraiser will be in the O’Shaugnessy Outdoor Amphitheater at Wachholz College Center on the FVCC campus in Kalispell 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday\, August 16 with live music by the Mike Murray Duo at 6:00 pm \n\n\n\n\n\nThe annual Great Bear Festival is starting a new era relocating to the O’Shaughnessy Outdoor Amphitheater at the Wachholz College Center on Saturday\, August 16 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Presented by Kalispell Noon Rotary and Daybreak Rotary Clubs\, there is a new focus on family-friendly activities in the afternoon\, while continuing the tradition of showcasing local/regional breweries & cideries. Live music onstage will feature local performers in the afternoon with headliner Mike Murray Duo from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. \n\n\n\nAll profits go to fund Rotary projects like Rotary Basketball (serving thousands of kids over 30 years)\, Rotary’s summer Leadership Camp (RYLA)\, high school scholarships\, the new Ashley Creek Park playground\, donations and grants supporting other local non-profits and International projects like clean water systems and sanitation efforts.Adults (21+):  $25.00 Includes four tickets covering two 8 oz beverage samples (or four 4 oz samples) \n\n\n\nAges 17-20 yrs old:  $25.00 Includes access to lawn games and live music \n\n\n\nChildren (0-16 yrs old):  Free Entry into festival. DESCRIPTION:Wachholz College Center and the Glacier Symphony Orchestra & Chorale invite the community to their 3rd Annual Open House and ‘25-‘26 Season Preview on the FVCC campus in Kalispell 4:30 pm to 7:15 pm Friday\, June 13\n\n\n\n\n\nWachholz College Center and the Glacier Symphony Orchestra & Chorale invite the community to our 3rd Annual Open House and ‘25-‘26 Season Preview. This family-friendly event is FREE and open to the public and offers guests a sneak peek at concerts and events booked for the upcoming ‘25-’26 season. \n\n\n\nAs part of the celebration\, the Wachholz College Center will be waiving ticket service fees for attendees who purchase tickets during the event. Glacier Symphony will also be showcasing their upcoming season\, allowing patrons to purchase season subscription packages and giving early access to single ticket sales\, with no service fees on single ticket sales. Throughout the evening\, attendees will have the chance to win tickets to exciting upcoming performances presented by both the Wachholz College Center and Glacier Symphony. \n\n\n\nThe event begins at 4:30 pm when lobby doors open to the public. A free outdoor concert by local favorite 20 GRAND kicks off at 6:00 pm in the O’Shaughnessy Outdoor Amphitheatre. Food trucks including HIMALAYAN ROCKIES\, FIRE & DOUGH\, and LOS PINGUINOS will be on-site\, and a variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. \n\n\n\n20 Grand is a high-energy\, nine-piece funk band known for their infectious grooves and dynamic live shows. With influences rooted in hip-hop\, jazz\, and soul\, 20 Grand has spent over a decade bringing the funk to festivals\, weddings and remote parties across the country.
