Born in the monster mindscape of Dead Ed\, Skadget sat in a stew of bubbling muck for years\, unable to find life. But when that seed of a thought finally made contact with Dead’s friends D.L. They play the original music of their front man\, Cameron Kinney\, who plays guitar and vocals. Cameron started the band with guitarist Justin Brantley in Great Falls and met the rest of the band members while studying with them at the UM School of Music a couple years later. Along with Cameron and Justin the band features Josh Smith on drums\, Lane Ulberg on bass and Jolene Green and Cade Chastain on saxophone. The band has two albums on Spotify and just finished recording their third album. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Related

DESCRIPTION:Catch a Sunday night skate punk show with Pay No Mind w/Operative\, The Lords of This World\, Skadget and Piled Out at Zootown Arts Community Center in Downtown Missoula at 7:00 pm October 26\n\n\n\n\n\nPay No Mind is a skate punk band with hardcore and thrash influences consisting of former members of Stoned to Death and Super Sport (Great Falls). They have taken Missoula by storm opening for touring bands and supporting the local music scene. Two of their members are students at the U of M and have played shows on campus and supported headliner acts throughout town. \n\n\n\nSkadget is a psychedelic dive into the subconscious waters of this hallucination called life. SUMMARY:Mount Pom with Minot\, J.A.D.E. and Dylan Running Crane at Zootown Arts Community Center
DESCRIPTION:Punky-twangy Mount Pom plays with support from Minot (garage punk)\, J.A.D.E. (fresh rock & roll) and Dylan Running Crane (celestial folk) all in one show at Zootown Arts Community Center in Downtown Missoula at 7:30 pm Sunday\, October 19\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors @ 7:00 pm \n\n\n\nMount Pom is the work of a Frostburg\, MD based artist named Koda Murphy. She started performing early in 2019 and put out a self recorded demo EP at the end of the same year. In 2023 she finished the recording of her first studio recorded album\, Eating Up the Mountains. It was recorded at The Warren with Matt Wocjik. She writes songs for thought daughters and former (or current) emo kids. \n\n\n\nMinot is a lo-fi garage punk baking mixture made of two parts Midwestern and a dash of Northern New England. The shortest distance between two sonic points is made by leaving no room for lengthy melodic banter. Drenched in reverb to cover their inadequacies; This band has a driving rhythm of Mo Tucker’s brother and the belief that less is always more. Minot because….Why not? \n\n\n\nJ.A.D.E. is a high-energy band hailing from the mountains of small-town Western Montana. Their wide variety of influences shines brightly in their songs. This unique\, not quite rock\, not exactly pop sound with an edgy punk rock twist is addictive. They send driving rhythms\, interwoven melodies\, and powerful vocals straight through your ears deep into your heart and soul. When on stage they are focused on bringing a sound that inspires everyone to get on their feet and dance like the universe depends on it. \n\n\n\nDylan Running Crane is a singer-songwriter from Browning\, Montana\, a place that remains the subject of most of her work. Her vibe is country meets rez-folk meets tender and silly. Check out her work with Cry Baby – https://crybabymissoula.bandcamp.com/track/missoula \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:11th Annual Missoula Monster Project at the ZACC
DESCRIPTION:Head to the Zootown Arts Community Center on 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm First Friday\, October 3 to celebrate the 11th Annual Missoula Monster Project\, marking more than a decade of monster magic that begins in Missoula’s kindergarten classrooms\n\n\n\n\n\n11th Annual Missoula Monster Project at the ZACC Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. \n\n\n\nHead to the Zootown Arts Community Center (ZACC) on First Friday\, October 3\, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm to celebrate the 11th Annual Missoula Monster Project\, marking more than a decade of monster magic that begins in Missoula’s kindergarten classrooms. \n\n\n\nEach year\, the ZACC partners with the Missoula County Public Schools Fine Arts Department to produce one of Missoula’s most beloved community art traditions. Kindergarteners unleash their imaginations to draw monsters\, and adult artists reinterpret those drawings in their own medium. The finished works are displayed side-by-side at the ZACC throughout October\, with the exhibition launching at a family-friendly opening party featuring live music\, monster cake\, and plenty of creativity to go around. This year’s participating schools are Franklin\, Jeannette Rankin\, and Chief Charlo Elementary Schools. \n\n\n\nOpening night festivities include a performance by Cowboy Andy & the Salamanders on the Show Room stage from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm\, plus free monster cake generously provided by Yoke’s Fresh Market. Adult-created monster artworks will be available for purchase – arrive early to claim your favorite before it’s gone! \n\n\n\nThe Monster Project isn’t just fun\, it’s meaningful. Proceeds from the sale of monsters\, donated by participating artists\, support arts education in Missoula County Public Schools and ZACC classrooms. Funds are shared with the MCPS Fine Arts Department to help ensure that every child in Missoula has access to high-quality arts opportunities. The exhibit will remain on display in the ZACC’s Main Gallery through October 26. This wonderful community event is supported in part by First Security Bank\, Windfall\, Blackfoot Communications\, Park Side Credit Union\, Stockman Bank\, Young Mazda\, the Good Food Store\, the Top Hat Bar & Restaurant and Sussex School. \n\n\n\nFor those who can’t attend in person\, the 11th Annual Missoula Monster Project will also be available for purchase online on the ZACC website following the reception. The goal this year: to find a home for every monster. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Melissa Bangs presents The Bangingsons: A Love Ballard at the ZACC
DESCRIPTION:Melissa Bangs presents The Bangingsons: A Love Ballard at the ZACC in Missoula Thursday at 7:30 pm\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors @ 7:00 pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMelissa Bangs presents The Bangingsons: A Love Ballard at the ZACC in Missoula Thursday at 7:30 pm. \n\n\n\nWhen cancer came for them\, both of them\, discovered within the same 24 hour period… hers having returned in a lymph node\, his having appeared in his throat and neck… there were shared tears\, a long embrace\, quiet whispers as to not wake their daughter\, a long sigh and then together\, with soft eyes and without cue\, “Twin flame shit baby. Twin flame shit.” \n\n\n\nAnd when\, in the depths of their tandem treatment\, treatment that nearly killed him\, a family crisis had them carrying loaded handguns for the first time in their lives and hiding in hotels for weeks on end\, what did they do? What did they discover? Was it the stuff of great philosophers or killer comedians? Were they eviscerated? Emboldened? Expanded? Come find out! \n\n\n\nFlirting and arguing along the way\, Wifey Bangingson shares stories dripping in love and laughter whilst Hubby Bangingson delivers the soundtrack\, dropping the melodies and beats that belong to these moments. Collectively\, they invite you into their living room\, to time travel together to scenes from their life. This project is a playful experiment of story\, banter and improv marinated in trauma-bonding and music. One part philosophy and deep spiritual discovery. Another part comedy and cliffnotes for survival. \n\n\n\nThe Bangingsons invite you along as they ride the massive whitewater rapids of life\, falling in and out of love with themselves and each other. Realizing along the way that if you can let go\, keep your feet downstream\, work as a team and breathe when you can… as the water and waves get deeper and more death-defying\, so does the love\, the sense of connection to self and one another\, and the deep peace within the never-ending flow of the river of life. \n\n\n\nNote: This performance/experience has mature themes and language and is recommended for viewers 18 and older. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Scumbag Summer presents Sunbather with Poverty Porn & The Strangelys at the ZACC
DESCRIPTION:Scumbag Summer presents Sunbather with Poverty Porn & The Strangelys at the ZACC Thursday at 8:00 pm\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors @ 7:00 pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nScumbag Summer presents Sunbather with Poverty Porn & The Strangelys at the ZACC Thursday at 8:00 pm \n\n\n\nSunbather Die is a trio based in a Ballard basement too short to stand in. Long time friends and brothers drawing influence from everything on the planet they’ve seen so far up to this point. Tragic noises and cannabis and pessimistic loudness. \n\n\n\nPoverty Porn is a three-piece punk rock band from Missoula\, Montana. Their queer and BIPOC backgrounds also shape their unique perspective. The band’s guitarist and vocalist\, Kye\, is a member of the Meskwaki First Nation from Iowa\, while their bassist\, Anthony\, is Puerto Rican. The band has had several drummers in their rotating cast\, some of whom are also people of color. Their music is characterized by buzzsaw guitars\, heavy bass riffs\, and gruff vocals\, with deeply personal and raw lyrics exploring addiction\, frustration\, and the struggles of life. With their latest EP\, “Upper-Middle-Class-Softcore\,” produced by Nataanii of the Missoula rock band Fuuls\, the band showcases even more sonically punishing and emotionally charged songs than their previous releases. Their high-energy live shows create a sense of community among fans and make them a force to be reckoned with in the punk scene. Poverty Porn has a bright future ahead of them as they continue to tackle complex and uncomfortable topics with self-deprecation and humor. \n\n\n\nFrom Missoula\, Montana\, The Strangelys (strange•lees) play drinking songs for the post apocalypse. Influenced by early 80’s hardcore punk bands such as Circle Jerks and Black Flag\, this is music for moshing\, skating and opening a wormhole to other galaxies. Hit play and get strange. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Related

Too loud for folk music and too textured for Red Dirt\, this is the sound of a genuine band rooted in groove\, grit\, and its own singular spirit\, led by a songwriter whose unique past — a Pentecostal upbringing\, years logged as a preacher-in-training\, and an eventual crisis of faith — has instilled both a storyteller’s delivery and an unique perspective about life\, love\, and listlessness in the modern world. Case in point\, in 2018 Scott earned critical acclaim as a songwriter when the second track “She Good To Me” off his DIY EP Living Rooms (2017 landed on NPR World Cafe’s Heavy Rotation: 10 Songs Public Radio Can’t Stop Playing alongside songs by MGMT\, Moby\, and Jade Bird. It was only the beginning of a new life on a new kind of stage.A multi-instrumentalist\, producer\, engineer\, and session musician\, Scott spent a year balancing life on the road and life in the studio\, where he produced albums for Americana artists like Carter Sampson\, Ken Pomeroy\, and Nellie Clay. Things began to expand as he assembled the High Heat\, a band of multi-faceted musicians and roots-rock Renaissance men who\, like their frontman\, juggled multiple artistic pursuits. Together\, Jason Scott & the High Heat have since become a self-contained creative collective whose talents include songwriting\, music production\, photography\, video direction\, and more. \n\n\n\nA multi-instrumentalist\, producer\, engineer\, and session musician\, Scott spent a year balancing life on the road and life in the studio\, where he produced albums for Americana artists like Carter Sampson\, Ken Pomeroy\, and Nellie Clay.
