It’s true that all things must pass, and while the pandemic is definitely not over, the ZACC’s 8-months of live-streamed Social Distance Sessions is coming to an end. And because we’re not the type of folk to let a good reason to celebrate go to waste, we’re throwing a Punk Rock Karaoke party featuring legendary Missoula rockers VTO as the backing band and a grip of local notables as the karaoke singers. Watch it live Saturday April 24, as hilarity is almost guaranteed to ensue and YouTube is most likely gonna take it down because we can’t figure out how to license any songs by The Ramones, The Runaways, or Green Day.Check out this Saturday’s line-up of musical guests and singers. Along with the folks of VTO, we are delighted to host:A VERY SPECIAL TOP SECRET MUSICAL GUEST (find out who it is by watching Saturday!)

“American Virtuosi” featuring Stephanie Chase, violin
UM School of Music
University of Montana, Music, Campus Dr, Missoula, Montana
Our final concert of the season features the full SOR and the brilliant American violin virtuoso Stephanie Chase, who has been hailed as “one of the violin greats of our era.” A prize winner in the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow, as well as a recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, Stephanie made her debut with the Chicago Symphony at age 9 and has gone on to an international concert career, performing with all of the major orchestras in the world. Stephanie takes center stage as soloist with the SOR in the charming early Mendelssohn d minor concerto, as well as the dazzling “Ziguenerweisen” (Gypsy Airs) of Pablo de Sarasate. In February of 2019, the SOR’S performance of Stephanie’s fiery “A Fantasy about Carmen” brought down the house, and we are excited to have her come to Missoula as we close our 36th season of spectacular concerts. The program celebrates two other popular American musicians: the beloved George Gershwin in his “Lullaby” for strings and Oregonian composer and violist Kenji Bunch, whose jazzy “String Circle” closes our April concert. It’s a dazzling season finale, full of vibrancy and virtuosity! Tickets are available through GrizTix at griztix.com, by phone 888-MONTANA, or in person at the Adams Center Box Office (no fees).
