It’s a full moon Saturday, and there seem to be limitless opportunities to howl this pleasantly cool weekend in Missoula and western Montana. You can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a chance at some karaoke. There’s a Beer & Bacon Fest in Missoula on Friday night. Pet Fest on Saturday. Summer MADE Fair on Sunday. Car cruisin’. Motocross races up at Plains. Mountain bike races at Disco. P-Burg’s big Summer Rotary Concert. Two big metal shows. There’s a beauty pageant Sunday night in Hamilton, fer cryin’ out loud. And that’s just scratching the surface!
The MUG is here with all the happenings this weekend around Missoula, and up the Bitterroot and Flathead valleys. Check out all the area farmers markets with their full variety to choose from; there’s live local music all over the place. Get out and enjoy our area bars & restaurants with Montana grown / made food and beverages. And – floating the river is always a viable option, especially when the sun starts peeking out again. The 25th Annual Garden City Harvest Farm Party is presented by The Good Food Store and First Security Bank. The Farm Party celebrates locally grown food and community connections. This year more than ever, we have plenty to celebrate. It’s our 25th anniversary, and after a year of isolation, let’s come together in the PEAS Farm fields to eat, drink, and dance under the summer moon. Tickets are limited, better to buy in advance!

The ride starts with a spin up the Blue Mountain road all the way the fire lookout, and then plunges down the rocky Deadman’s Ridge Trail. We should finish before it gets completely dark, but pack along a light in case we are delayed. Meet at the main Blue Mountain Trailhead.

Would your family like to visit the beautiful & historic Bitterroot Valley in the heart of Montana, where the natural beauty of the mountains is close enough to touch, and fly-fishing is so grand that movies like “A River Runs Through it” were filmed here? Are you a Super Hero in the lives of others? Are you a Super Mom, daughter, volunteer, role model, or friend? This pageant is for Super women, who leave their mark on the lives around them! The America’s Super Teen, Miss/ Ms./Mrs. competition is directed by Janet Bierer and is being held in memory of her daughter, Allanya DaRay Thorning, who lost her life on July 18, 2010. Our custom banner is emblazed with the “Buckle Up” message to promote the platform of Seat Belt Use & Awareness. We believe that if we change one life, we may also save that life. Delegates may have their own platforms, but agree to promote Seat belt use also. Ms. Bierer has been directing pageants since 1990 on the local, state and national level from MAO preliminaries, to online events.

America’s SUPER Ms. Delegates do not need to have a personal platform, but agree to promote the national platform of Seat Belt Use and Awareness on their Comp/Autograph cards and banner with the “Buckle Up” message.
