Chris Sand & The Corn Forkers + Claire Amundson
Roxy Garden
718 S Higgins Avenue, Missoula, Montana
The Roxy and Montana Area Music Association are proud to present Music in the Sound Garden, a series of live musical performances in the Roxy Garden.
Claire Amundson grew up in Townsend, MT in a family of musicians. Loving all instruments and music and writing poetry as a kid, at 14, she picked up her guitar and merged the two worlds together. After a hiatus from performing she has started to play locally thanks to MAMA. With folk music having a strong presence in her sound, she plays what feels right.
Chris Sand (AKA “Sandman The Rappin’ Cowboy”) has traversed the blue highways and gravel backroads of the USA for over two decades, rolling out a unique blend of folk, punk, hip hop, and cowboy music in basements, living rooms, barns, performance halls, and dive bars along the way. Performing now with Ian Smith and Grace Decker, Sand is thrilled to have found musical siblings in arms. Ian’s multi-instrumental offerings and cheerful stage presence creates an infectious band synergy, while Grace’s harmonies and fiddle licks bring joy to all.

From Minnesota to the high line of Malta, Montana…California to the Colorado Rockies, and ‘way down yonder in New Orleans’. The members of Who Dat! have assembled from across this land right here in the Bitterroot Valley. They bring a diverse and eclectic range of musical experience that, for some, dates back to the 1970’s. With their mix of guitars, fiddle, keys, and percussion, blended with the sweet vocal harmonies, this group rocks it out when they perform songs by The Eagles, Zac Brown Band, The Beach Boys, Alabama, The Doobie Brothers and many more. Who Dat! truly is, “a Montana band with a southern rock sound.”

Drew Peterson Crooked Line Tour
Montana Bonfire
15300 MT-35, Woods Bay, Montana
Show #8 on Drew Peterson’s “Crooked Line” Tour. Join him for a night of Original, Lyric-Heavy Americana at Montana Bonfire.
About Drew:
“Drew Peterson comes from a long line of musically inept Norwegian Farmers (unless you count Grandpa Pops, the town drunk, who played the harmonica and the concertina for booze). Peterson was not born with musical talent. Mom bought him a guitar at a church rummage sale for five dollars and it was then he decided he wanted to become a musician. Growing up on a farm in rural Minnesota, he tackled this endeavor the way he had been taught – hard work and lots of practice. And practice is what he’s been doing for 20 years.
Peterson has built a unique brand that transcends the genre. With clever, dry humor and thought-provoking lyrics, Peterson’s music is like oil over gravel. Drawing on influences from John Prine, Tom Waits, Cat Stevens, Van Morrison, among others, Peterson offers the world upbeat tunes with a soft- spoken gravitas that belies his years.

Richie Reinholdt

915 Toole Avenue, Missoula, Montana
We’re over the moon to host outstanding local musician Richie Reinholdt on our little Murphy stage Sunday, June 27th from 5-7PM! Richie picked up the guitar at age 11 and was soon playing in local bands through junior high and high school. After his father passed away in 1975, Richie moved to South Lake Tahoe to be near his Mother. While there, he met and joined The Live Wire Choir and toured the northwest for 4 years in a green, 1945 Flexible bus. They were signed to a one-album deal with Helios Records, based in Missoula, Montana and recorded the “Blue” album. When L.W.C. disbanded in 1979, Richie left California and moved to Missoula. Richie toured with local bands such as “The Skanksters” (1986-1988), The Blazers”(1989-1991),”The Dreadbeats”(1991-1993) and was lucky enough to tour the beautiful Adariatic countries of Slovenia, Italy and Austria of Southern Central Europe with “The Psyclones” (1993) “The Shadows” (1994) “The Wolfrats (1995) and “The Sundogz” (1996).

One of the most revered comedies of the silent era, this film finds hapless railroad engineer Johnny Gray (Buster Keaton) facing a ludicrous set of challenges during the American Civil War. When Johnny Gray’s fiancée, Annabelle Lee (Marion Mack), is accidentally taken away while on a train stolen by enemy forces, Gray pursues the soldiers, using various modes of transportation in comic action scenes that highlight Keaton’s boundless wit and dexterity.
