January 17 @ 1:00 pm 3:00 pm

Did you know a portion of Montana at one time was part of Rupertโ€™s Land, an area of Canada โ€œgivenโ€ to the Hudsonโ€™s Bay Company? Did you know Montana nutrients help to feed the polar bears in Hudson Bay? That Glacier National Parkโ€™s Triple Divide Peak feeds the Pacific, Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic/Arctic oceans? Learn these and many more interesting facts as Frank Tyro presents;

Frank will also present the documentary “Walking Bear Comes Home- the Life and Work of Chuck Jonkel.” The documentary primarily covers the work he started in 1965 for the Canadian Wildlife Service to begin the first scientific studies of polar bears. He was the only person to have done extensive studies of polar bears, black bears and grizzly bears in the world. This humorous and enlightening program is airing on KSPS, Spokane PBS in January, but you can see it at the Ninepipes Museum during this talk.
