This year we are going to be working on clearing the non-groomed touring trails that radiate out from Chief Joseph Pass.
For our first work day we will be clearing Scooter Creek Trail, and if we get enough people we will also work on the Shoofly trail.
We will be pruning limbs, clearing downed trees, and remarking these trails with blue diamond trail markers.
Remember, these trails are not groomed, so don’t bring your skate skis or track skis, wider scaled skis or even alpine touring skis are the thing to have. We will have tools available, but if you have a pruning saw or loppers bring it along.
These are long point to point trails, so plan on committing to being out for 4-6 hours. Bring lunch, water, and appropriate clothing for being out all day.
If you can’t make it this day, we will likely be having another work day in March.
