Dia de los Muertos Traditional Celebration Weekend at Confluence Center in Downtown Missoula, Montana
The Confluence Center hosts a multi-day traditional celebration of Dia de los Muertos in Downtown Missoula from Thursday, October 31 thru Saturday, November 2

The Confluence Center (Western Montana’s Home for Nonprofit Events) is thrilled to presents the 2nd Annual Traditional Día de los Muertos Celebration! We invite you to join us for a multi-day event honoring the Latin American tradition and enjoying this time with our community.

Thursday, October 31 – Altar Building (9:00 am – All Day)
9:00 am: Altar Building Begins
Led by Mexican families and Latino friends
Community members are welcome to come and watch as we construct the traditional altar. The altar will honor loved ones who have passed, with intricate decorations and personal touches.

Friday, November 1 – Community Ofrendas & First Friday Celebration
9:00 am – 2:00 pm: Community Ofrendas and Memorabilia
Community members are welcome to bring 5×7 or smaller sized photos, memorabilia, and ofrendas to place on the altar. Feel free to honor your loved ones by contributing to the display.

5:00 pm – 9:00 p,: First Friday Celebration
The altar will be open for viewing during our usual First Friday art opening, and the celebration will feature:
– Traditional Mexican Food (by La Catrina Marigold), Colombian Arepas (by Deli Arepa), drinks by The Rhino, and aguas frescas from Refreshments by Maria will all be available for purchase. Please bring cash for food and drinks.
– Live Music and performances
– First Friday art exhibit
This is a time to gather, share memories, and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

Saturday, November 2 – Main Día de los Muertos Celebration
3:00 pm – 11:00 pm: Main Celebration
Join us for the final day of celebration, including:
– Traditional ceremonies and altar viewing
– Music, face painting and performances
– Traditional Mexican Food (by La Catrina Marigold), Colombian Arepas (by Deli Arepa), drinks by The Rhino, and aguas frescas from Refreshments by Maria will all be available for purchase. Please bring cash for food and drinks.
The night will conclude with a communal reflection and honoring of those who have passed.

We look forward to celebrating this beautiful tradition with the community and honoring the memories of our loved ones together!
