Meeting Location: 2 options
1) Meet to carpool at 5:45 pm at the parking lot near the Grant Creek exit of the interstate, just north of the TownPump/Conoco Gas Station. Please try and do this!
2) Ravine Parking Area There is limited parking at the Ravine Trailhead and only accommodates ~6 cars with no on-street parking.
The Ravine Trail is a 3-mile uphill switchback trail (6 miles round-trip) located up Grant Creek that leads over to the Rattlesnake. 1280′ of climbing. We’ll plan on continuing up to the Snowbowl overlook for those interested.
Ravine Trailhead – From Interstate 90 in Missoula, take exit #101 and head north on Grant Creek Road for about 5 miles. About 1 mile past the turn for Snowbowl Ski area, you will see hiking signs for the trailhead. Just past the first sign on the right is a small parking area. This is Ravine Gulch trailhead.
Suggest traction. It’s likely that there will be slippery areas.
We have lots of gals coming in and out each week. Here are some good rules of thumb. * Try to get the group started ASAP after 6:00 pm * Do intros, ask if we have any new gals and get a head count * Break into groups if needed & find a gal to coordinate each group * You don’t have to be the fastest in the group to lead, but just make sure we don’t leave someone behind * Have fun!
Note: No dogs are allowed in the Rattlesnake at this time of year.
