String Orchestra of the Rockies 40th Anniversary Celebration at UM Music Recital Hall
September 15, 2024 @ 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Montana’s premier conductorless string orchestra welcomes Emmy-award-winning American violin legend Robert McDuffie to open its 40th Anniversary Season. Considered “…one of the finest violinists of our age” (The Buffalo News) and hailed for his “dashing bravura” (Chicago Sun Times), Robert McDuffie will perform the American 4 Seasons by Philip Glass with our String Orchestra of the Rockies. Don’t miss this unforgettable afternoon of American virtuosity, beginning at 4:00 pm, Sunday, September 15th, in the UM Music Recital Hall.
6:00 pm – Reception, wine, hors d’oeuvres
6:30 pm – Special chamber music performance by the SOR Quartet:
– Maria Larionoff & Margaret Baldridge, violins,
– Jennifer Smith, viola, & Adam Collins, cello
7:00 pm – MMAC guided tours
