The Confluence Center (Western Montana’s Home for Nonprofit Events) art program Torrents is thrilled to present a magical evening of art and community! This month we will feature new bodies of work from two incredible Missoula artists, Tim Wheeler and Mickey Haldi, each passionately exploring a different microcosmic world.
In “A Fungal Ménage a Trois”, Tim Wheeler’s goal as an artist is to bring the minute details of the natural world to the forefront. Wheeler explores the microscopic intricacies of lichens, mushrooms and other fungi at an awe inspiring scale making the abstractions of nature visible.
Then, in Mickey Haldi’s series “Circuitous Proportions”, they seek to address the relationship between microcosms and macrocosms, focusing on the interrelatedness of psychology and sociology. Haldi analyzes these intersections through their abstract paintings, each of which yields a new reality.
Opening exhibit event will take place on First Friday, February 2, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Confluence Center at 119 W Main St, Missoula, and will also feature music by Chuck Florence, David Horgan and Beth Lo.
The Exhibit will remain on display through February 23, and can be seen by appointment through the Center: 406-926-6526
