Meg Fisher Rides On
Meg Fisher is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, athletic performance coach, and motivational speaker based in Missoula, MT. She’s also a decorated athlete having won gold, silver, and bronze medals in the 2016 and 2012 Paralympic Games and accumulating ten world championship titles. At age 19 Meg was involved in a tragic car accident that nearly killed her and took the life of her best friend. She survived a coma and lost the lower portion of her left leg. In this conversation we talk about those experiences and how they shaped Meg’s approach to life and her work helping others achieve their health, wellness and performance goals.

In addition to competing in the world tour and finishing 11 Grand Tours, Svein is a 13 Canadian cycling championship (2 road, 11 time trial). Svein also shares some stories of his totally unconventional entry in the life of a professional cyclist and his many adventures bicycle touring in the Canadian wilderness and tells us about his next project; Tuft Adventure Tours.

Tell Us Something director Marc Moss worked with the team at Gecko Designs to rethink the Tell Us Something website back in 2017 and they have been providing hosting and routine maintenance for the website ever since. Join head honcha Melissa Kaplan and Marc for an in-depth vist about Gecko Designs, the Tell Us Something experience, and telling a story on the Tell Us Something stage. After the conversation, you can hear the story as she shared it with her husband and head honcho of Gecko Designs, Gabriel Silverman. Melissa Kaplan Silverman & Gabriel Silverman met in Chicago in 2005. Gabriel grew up in Missoula and enjoys all forms of biking and skiing, building things with his hands and creating world-class websites. Melissa is a Detroit-born Missoulian-at-heart who enjoys running and baking. Melissa has been an organizational leader within Gecko Designs since 2005. In addition to her expertise in the customer service and project management arena, Melissa is always the last person to see a final project before it is sent to the client, allowing her to give a thorough and unbiased opinion. Together, Melissa and Gabriel run a graphic design and marketing firm. Tugboat, their Golden Retriever, can be seen sunbathing in the glass window of their office on Higgins when they are not working from home. A stolen road bike leads Gabriel Silverman & his then-girlfriend Melissa Kaplan to embark on their own little episode of Cops to reclaim the goods. Their story was recorded in front of a live audience on August 6, 2016, at The PEAS Farm in Missoula, MT. The theme that night was “That’s Not How it Happened”. They call their story “You Stole My Bike!”

Interview with Ana Soulia – Founder and Owner of Intertia Physiotherapy
For years, Ana Soulia won best physical therapist in the local paper’s Best of Missoula voting. She eventually split away from the office where she worked to form her own practice – Inertia Physiotherapy. Inertia Physiotherapy helps Missoulians get to the root of their pain and heal their injuries so that they can live the active healthy lifestyle that they enjoy. Ana sits down with Tell Us Something director Marc Moss to talk about some of her favorite Tell Us Something stories and how we can heal our bodies through movement on the next Tell Us Something podcast. After their conversation, you’ll be able to listen to a story that stood out for her. The story that Ana selected was from Steven T! Millhouse. Steven T! Millhouse was born in Bozeman and grew up in Missoula. He graduated from Sentinel Highschool, and the University of Montana. Steven’s story was recorded in front of a live audience on September 24, 2019 at The Wilma in Missoula, MT. Steven takes us on a journey walking from Missoula, MT to Los Angeles, CA, regaining a lost hope in humanity along the way. He calls his story “Homage for the Homeless”.

We are invited into the home of a female elder by the name of Aunty Hope O’Chin. We will take a cultural, historical and musical look at some of the 250 unique groups of Indigenous Aboriginal Australians. She also explains how to coexist, respect and heal communities and the planet. Aunt Hope was kind enough to share her family’s tragic history inside government camps and her peoples fight for human rights. This is a great interview and excellent anthropological documentation.The interview was recorded on the land of the Gubbi Gubbi tribe in eastern Australia.

Smoke Signals, Animal Totems, Initiation Practices, The Law of the Land, and Specificially How the Indigenous Aboriginal Australians Lived in Harmony With the Land and Animals for Hundreds of Thousands of Years
Recorded on the land of the Gubbi Gubbi tribe in eastern Australia, we join an elder on top of a mountain where smoke signals were used between surrounding tribes for communication. We learn about the numerous similarities between Indigenous Aboriginal Australians and the First Nations Peoples of the Americas. We then walk down into the jungle to sit on the edge of a creek beside an ancient path which dates back tens of thousands of years. Sitting alongside numerous artifacts, we learn about initiation practices, animal totems, the law of the land and specifically how the indigenous Aboriginal Australians lived in harmony with the land and animals for hundreds of thousands of years prior to the arrival of Captain Cook. Alex Bond is a descendant of one of the last chiefs in this area of Australia, he is an activist, musician and storyteller.

Life in the Mountains, Deserts and Markets of Morocco
Recorded in a small stall in a labyrinth of markets within Jemaa el-Fnaa square in the Medina (old city) of Marrakesh. Jemaa el-Fnaa was also known for its public executions dating back to 1050. This interview features Mohammed, Abdul and Aziz. Mohammed and Abdul are two young men who run a shop with Aziz, an older family friend. Aziz was born in a mud hut, began smoking hash when he was 12 and speaks over six languages fluently. Mohammed translates for his friends and all topics are covered including food, clothing, religion, jewelry and other aspects of the many cultures in North Africa.

Female Pilot, Aerospace Engineer and Soon-to-Be Astronaut
Danielle Maniere knew she wanted to be an astronaut when she was five years old. She started skiing when she was two and studied Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bristol in the UK. After graduating, she worked as a field engineer on oil rigs based out of Iraq and over a period of seven years, she worked in over four countries. Danielle purchased land on an island in Indonesia and built a hostel while perfecting the language. After being evacuated out of Iraq due to air strikes, Danielle moved to Missoula and continued her career in aviation. Danielle is now a flight instructor and charter pilot for North Star Jet…she is well on her way to becoming an astronaut.
