Where did September go? Fortunately we have one more stellar weekend to make the most of it, and there is no shortage of fantastic options to squeeze in. The MUG has compiled the most comprehensive list of events in Missoula and around Western Montana, all right here for you to make your own Weekend PICKS!

Montana native Eryn Bent comes home to perform at Bitter Root Brewing in Hamilton Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The Kenny James Miller Band plays live 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm Thursday at The Gunsight Saloon in Columbia Falls.

Logjam Presents welcomes Teton Gravity Research’s “Beyond the Fantasy” Ski Film Premiere at The Wilma in Downtown Missoula at 7:30 pm Thursday.

Grab that mic and rock on with your bad self with Karaoke hosted by DJ Nite Wolf at The Dark Horse Bar – starting at 9:00 pm Thursday and Friday nights. DJ Nite Wolf is also hosting Karaoke at The Sunrise Saloon at 9:00 Saturday and Sunday nights.

There’ll be a big Barn Dance at Hood’s Western Adventures live music by local favorite Kenley Zylawy in Alberton Friday from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

Enjoy an evening fundraiser for Protect the Clearwater nonprofit at the 20th Annual Boulder, Blues & Brews with live music by Wailing Aaron Jennings at 6:30 pm Friday at Free Cycles in Missoula.

Bring the kids to a stage performance of The Little Mermaid Jr. at Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts Friday and Saturday from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, and Sunday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Logjam Presents welcomes The Movement with the Long Beach Dub Allstars and Aurorawave at The Wilma in Downtown Missoula at 8:00 pm Friday.

Mudslide Charley slides in to play live at the Union Club in Downtown Missoula Friday starting at 9:00 pm.

Western Montana’s farmers markets are in the home stretch for the summer season.  Missoula has four remaining Saturday markets, and with the rest of the area bustling with fresh local markets nearly every day of the week and weekend. Saturday is the last day this season for the Missoula People’s Market featuring local art & handcrafted goods – open 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the corner of Pine & Higgins, downtown. Great opportunity for some early holiday shopping!

Sign up to enter the Zootown Challenge, Missoula’s Premier Obstacle Course Race happening at Washington-Grizzly Stadium on Saturday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Proceeds from the event go to benefit Opportunity Resources.

CFAC celebrates their new name: Farm Connect with a Barnyard Jamboree at Missoula’s historic LaLonde Ranch 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday.

The Montana Brewers’ Oktoberfest is happening Saturday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and then live music on the patio with Shakewell Quartet 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Cranky Sam Public House in Downtown Missoula.

Keep an eye on your bar snacks when Release the Squirrels plays live at Blacksmith Brewing Company in Stevensville Saturday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

MTB Missoula’s biggest party and fundraiser of the year, the annual Bike Ball at Free Cycles starts at 6:30 pm Saturday.

Logjam Presents welcomes the Black Ram Guitar Festival to The Wilma in Downtown Missoula at 7:30 pm Saturday, featuring James McMurtry, Rick Bass & friends.

Colter Wall performs a two-night stand with support from Noeline and Kade Hoffman to wrap up the summer concert season at the Kettlehouse Amphitheater in Bonner with shows at 8:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Wear your Hawaiian shirt, grass skirt and coconuts to the Tiki Beach Party at 9:00 pm Saturday at The Rustic Hut in Florence – music with DJ TRX.

Missoula’s own Ten Spoon Vineyard + Winery is returning with their grand tradition of annual Community Grape Harvest Days; the public is invited to bring their own snippers and help harvest white grapes any time between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on Sunday – or help with the red grapes on Saturday, October 5.

Goat races! Highlander Beer’s 3rd annual Goat Races return to their brewery grounds in Missoula at 1:00 pm Sunday.

There are at least 70 local music shows of one kind or another in the area throughout the weekend – we have options!

No matter what direction you wanna get outta town, you can’t go wrong. Lots of weekend activities and events are happening not only around Missoula, but all the way up the Flathead and the Bitterroot valleys, east to Phillipsburg and Anaconda, and out west past Alberton. If you’re headed up to Whitefish and Glacier, there are some outstanding pit stops to make along the way.

Get out & enjoy our locally-owned bars & restaurants with Montana grown / made food and beverages – they need your business! Try a new local brew! Support our local artists and vendors at the area farmers markets. Take the family for a brisk outdoor hike. Get out on the mountain bike. Catch a classic movie screening or a stand-up comedy night. Stretch that big brain at one of the local trivia nights. Sing your favorite karaoke song, or catch a live music show. Enjoy safely and responsibly.
