It’s the last weekend of 2024, and we’re ready to give it the boot in style – The MUG has compiled the most comprehensive list of events in Missoula and around Western Montana, all right here for you to make your own pre-New Year’s Weekend PICKS!
Whether you’re visiting for the holidays, or hosting guests – The MUG is here to provide all your best ideas and options for fun stuff to do all weekend long. While Weekend PICKS is focused on Thursday thru Sunday, if you scroll ahead on through The MUG Events Calendar, you can get a head start on your options for New Year’s Eve and January 1st, too!
ALL the local ski resorts are open, with more fresh snow forecast! All are grooming and adding open lifts. Lolo Pass Visitors Center and Chief Joseph are fluffy and groomed, and several areas in the Flathead have excellent trails ready for XC skiing. MTB Missoula has just added new winter grooming at Marshall Mountain Park fat bikes, courtesy of Fat Bike Missoula – cool development! No matter what direction you wanna get outta town, you can’t go wrong. Lots of pre-New Year’s weekend activities and events are happening not only around Missoula, but all the way up the Flathead and the Bitterroot valleys, east to Phillipsburg and Anaconda, and out west past Alberton. If you’re headed up to Whitefish and Glacier, there are some outstanding pit stops to make along the way.
Get out & enjoy our locally-owned bars & restaurants with Montana grown / made food and beverages – they need your business! Try a new seasonal local brew! Support our local artists and vendors at the area seasonal markets. Take the family for a brisk outdoor hike. Get out for some prime early season skiing. Catch a classic movie screening or a stand-up comedy night. Stretch that big brain at one of the local trivia nights. Sing your favorite karaoke song, or catch a live music show. Enjoy safely and responsibly.
