Backcountry Film Festival at Hamilton City Hall

Looking out over a vista of wildflowers makes the heart and spirit soar. For many of us, that same lift has a winter parallel – found on the edge of an untracked winter slope, sparkling with snow crystals. For this reason (and many others!), we celebrate wild winters every year by hosting live screenings of the Backcountry Film Festival.
Join Wild Montana’s Shining Mountains Chapter in Hamilton on Friday, Feb. 23, to see this year’s 10 inspiring films and celebrate wild winters. Some lucky attendees will win prizes donated by local businesses, including gift certificates for Chapter One Bookstore and Westslope Distillery, cross-country ski rentals from Valley Bicycles and Ski, passes for the International Wildlife Film Festival, and more. Sierra Nevada Brewing has also graciously donated a variety of their beers.
It doesn’t get much better than free beer, backcountry films, and the chance to win new gear to enhance your winter stoke!
Presented by Winter Wildlands Alliance, the Backcountry Film Festival celebrates human-powered recreation and wild winters. For nearly 20 years, the festival has sparked conversations about the human connection to wild places, encouraged grassroots activism in the face of warming winters, and inspired stewardship of our wild public lands and waters. Enjoy films featuring backcountry experiences, conservation efforts, and personal stories of reflection and discovery while traversing wild landscapes.
All proceeds from the Hamilton screening support the Shining Mountains Chapter. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating the wonder of winter.
