John Wicks’ latest project, Jolóto is a minimalist’s dream and a global citizen’s manifesto: just his drums, Tommy Sciple’s bass, and Loren Stillman’s flute/saxophone. It’s a spacious canvas where all of his travels coalesce into a uniquely welcoming, social sound. It’s music you’d hear spilling from open windows in a dozen different countries – feel-good, rhythm-driven and alive with conversation.
