Marshall Mountain Park “Mission to Mars” Hike or Bike with Montana Dirt Girls

September 29 @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Meet up with Montana Dirt Girls at 6:00 pm Tuesday at Missoula’s Marshall Mountain Park, and we’ll ride the newer “Mission to Mars” trail, or hike in the area.
Missoula Mountain Bike Coalition has been helping create and maintain trails here over the last few years. One of the newest trails is called “Mission to Mars” and is a fun flow trail descent. But first we’ll need to climb up “Izzy Up” about 700 feet, then fly down the flow trail.
Map of route
~3.9 miles with 730’ of climbing.
If we have time, we can do the loop twice, or add “Hot Sauce” trail to our loop.
Hikers will choose between hiking Izzy Up as an out and back ( ~3 mi 700’ elevation gain), or taking the Bear Right Trail that paralells Marshall Creek to the Point (3.4 mi 900’ elevation gain).
Note: no dogs are allowed on the Marshall trails but they are allowed on the Forest Service land up the Bear Right trail.
Sunset is at 7:19 pm, civil twilight is at 7:49 pm (when you really need a light).
It’s a good idea to have a light with you this time of year.
