Maui Relief Fundraiser Party & Jimmy Buffet Tribute Concert at Bias Brewing
No Open Mic this Sunday – instead join us at Bias Brewing on October 1 for a special Maui Fundraiser Block Party featuring a Jimmy Buffet Tribute Concert played by local legend, John Dunnigan!
Music starts at 4:00 pm with Colton Christensen opening up the festivities. A suggested donation of $5 is encouraged for concert admission and the first 150 who donate upon entry will be given a flower lei. This is a family-friendly event with raffle prizes and silent auctions to help us raise funds for multiple organizations who are dedicated to helping victims of the August fire in Lahaina on the Hawaiian island of Maui (see below for two reputable organizations where donations will be distributed). In addition, Bias will be donating $1 of every pint of Ho’aloha Blonde to former employee Robert, who was also impacted by the fire!
Sacred Hearts School:www.shsmaui.org This historic school is over 150 yrs old and has survived past fires but was burned down in this latest fire in August. They have relocated temporarily and already begun school just 20 days after the fire. They have deep roots in the community and are taking on many displaced students in addition to their own previously enrolled students.
Malama Lahaina:www.malamalahaina.org Malama Lahaina was formed in joint forces with dedicated volunteers on the ground to disseminate vital updates and crucial information directly to the community. Our platform also serves as a vital conduit for directing individuals to essential resources and aid. We have curated a centralized location where residents and supporters can find the assistance they need, from emergency shelters and medical services to donation centers and temporary housing options.
Our Mission:The Missoula Underground is a hyper-local blog about the best the Missoula area has to offer: food/beverages, music, events, activities, local people and business.
Hyper-local means we don’t write about anything that isn't owned or locally managed or operated in the Missoula area. No corporate chains or businesses operated by investment groups from out of Montana.
We have a growing all-volunteer team of bloggers and contributors. We’re here because we care about our beloved Missoula area and want to showcase the best of what's here and what we love to do.
When you share our articles, you become part of a force for good in and around Missoula.
