It’s time for the Seventh Annual Lolo Highline Gathering.

Come wiggle amongst the treetops where the sky is big and the friends are rad!

We will have a variety of 10 lines rigged ranging from 20m-280m.

We will work on a list of the gear and lines we will have together closer to the date, so if you’re interested in bringing a rig to add to the shenanigans, let us know!

There’s some fun single pitch sport and trad climbing underneath the highlines on the 10 minute uphill approach to the lines.

A lot of the routes are in the shade, so bring your climbing gear for some great climbing while you’re not slacking.

The routes aren’t published on MountainProject, so give me a shout if you want the PDF guide for the area beforehand.

The lines are only a 10 minute hike from the car, so it’s super accessible.

You can car camp or camp up by the lines.

Either way you’ll need to bring all of your own water out for the weekend, so bring LOTS of water (there is a creek down by the parking for filtering, bathing, etc)!

PARKING:

Please be mindful and courteous of parking, as it’s mostly along the side of a tight Forest Service Road.

Carpool where possible, and don’t park like a jackass.

DIRECTIONS:

From Missoula head South on Hwy 93 for about 10 miles until you hit the town of Lolo.

When you run into Hwy 12 in Lolo, head West for 27 miles towards Lolo Hot Springs.

Get to Lolo Hot Springs and drive another 0.8 miles past the springs and take your first left onto East Fork Lolo Creek Rd (road is just before big towering rock on left side of highway).

The climbers trail to get to the highlines is about 0.7 miles down East Fork Lolo Creek Rd. As you’re driving this 0.7 miles, you’ll pass between two roadside rocks that form a gate-like feature at about mile marker 0.5-0.6.

The climbers trail to approach the highlines is another 150 yards down the road on the left from these rock gates (or 30-ish yards from the black Toyota 4Runner).

Follow the trail uphill for 10 minutes skirting up and right underneath cliff bands until you find the lines!
